Chapter 80: Paralysis for Life
He had received word yesterday that Lin Feng would not survive the night. So, at dawn today, he sent people to move all his belongings here; they were now preparing to unload the truck.
“Hey, move quickly and get everything inside,” Su Shifeng ordered the movers outside the villa, paying no attention to Su Qingxue. At his command, they immediately set to work.
Su Qingxue was furious, shocked by how shameless her grandmother and the others were. Just as she was about to argue with Su Shifeng, Lin Feng walked out from the villa, gently placing a hand on her delicate shoulder and said calmly, “Qingxue, let me handle this.”
“Lin—Lin Feng? You're alive?” Su Shifeng spotted Lin Feng at once, unable to contain his astonishment.
Lin Feng sneered, stepping closer. “You really wish I were dead? Unfortunately, you simply don’t have the means.”
“Lin Feng, what are you going to do? I warn you, if you dare touch me, I won't forgive you,” Su Shifeng stammered, threatening Lin Feng.
Lin Feng regarded him with contempt, chuckling softly as he approached. “You? In your state, you still think you can oppose me?”
“I see you won’t behave as long as half your body still works. Perhaps today I'll leave you completely paralyzed—your mind awake, but your body utterly useless.”
“No, no—” A sense of dread overwhelmed Su Shifeng. Before he could finish shouting, a hand appeared above his head, and he felt a surge of energy enter his skull.
The current swept swiftly through his upper body, sealing his meridians wherever it passed. He felt a tightness inside, and then numbness spread from his face to his neck and throughout his upper body, rendering him immobile.
At last, even speaking became impossible; only his eyes could move.
Lin Feng sneered, “From now on, you’ll be nothing but a cripple. I believe the old lady will be delighted with this gift.”
“Ah...ba...ah...ba...” Su Shifeng struggled to make sounds, but could only mumble like a mute, unable to form a single coherent word.
Without further ado, Lin Feng ordered someone to send him back to Madam Su’s villa.
Su Qingxue watched the whole scene, feeling no sympathy. Su Shifeng had brought it all upon himself.
At the same time, despair flooded her heart. No matter how hard she tried, in Madam Su’s eyes, she was merely a tool, and nothing would ever truly belong to her.
Lin Feng saw the sadness in her eyes, gently stroking her head, and said, “Qingxue, don’t worry. From now on, no one will bully you again—I’ll protect you for a lifetime.”
“You said it yourself.” Tears welled up in Su Qingxue’s eyes; she forced a smile and joked, “If you ever bully me, I’ll never surprise you again.”
“Um...alright.” Lin Feng was momentarily stunned, but nodded in agreement.
Finally, unable to hold back her sorrow any longer, Su Qingxue burst into tears, burying herself in Lin Feng’s embrace.
Lin Feng held her tightly, comforting her for a long while, until she finally calmed down.
He returned to the villa and prepared a lavish breakfast for Su Qingxue. Once she’d eaten her fill, he personally drove her to Su Group Bank.
“What happened here? Who did this?” At Madam Su’s villa, when Su Shifeng was delivered back, she was utterly stunned.
Liu Farong was equally shocked; had he not gone to visit Su Qingxue this morning? How did he end up like this?
“A gentleman named Lin Feng asked me to deliver a message: If you dare covet Su Group Bank or disrespect Su Qingxue again, all of you will suffer the same fate.”
The person who brought Su Shifeng relayed Lin Feng’s words to Madam Su.
Upon hearing this, Madam Su was shaken to her core.
She looked at the messenger in disbelief and asked, “What did you just say? Lin Feng sent you? Are you certain?”
“Yes, it was indeed Mr. Lin Feng's instruction,” the messenger confirmed, then departed.
Madam Su was filled with terror; she had never imagined that Lin Feng would survive!
The poison administered yesterday—he had somehow neutralized it?
“Mother, what’s going on? How could Lin Feng break the Five Venoms Sect’s poison? That’s supposed to be incurable even today,” Liu Farong asked, astonished.
Madam Su frowned, shaking her head. “I don’t know either. Is Lin Feng human or ghost? Why do our methods always fail?”
“It seems the only way to deal with him is to call on the Five Venoms Sect themselves,” she sighed.
The poison had been obtained from the Five Venoms Sect through her connections; her own elder brother was the sect master, known as the Poison King of Nine Heavens, Song Jiuzhou.
Liu Farong bit her lip, her brows knit tightly. “Mother, this grudge must be avenged. Lin Feng must pay in blood. Now that Shifeng is like this, you must find a way to save him.”
“Of course. He’s my own grandson—I can’t just stand by and watch him become paralyzed for life.”
“Hire the best doctors in all of Daxia. Spare no expense. If anyone can cure my grandson, I’ll reward them with ten million.”
“Alright, Mother. I’ll see to it at once.” Liu Farong hurried off to arrange for the recruitment of miracle doctors throughout Daxia.
Yet, their actions were exactly as Lin Feng had expected. Since he dared send Shifeng back, he was certain that, outside of himself, no one in Daxia could cure him.
All their efforts would be futile.
“Lin Feng, when you meet Chairman Zhao later, be polite—don’t resort to force,” Su Qingxue reminded him in the Su Group Bank office, having called her assistant to prepare for their visit to Kangyang Construction Materials Company.
Lin Feng smiled confidently. “Don’t worry. I won’t lay a hand on him.”
Su Qingxue nodded gently, signaling her female assistant to lead him away.
Downstairs, the assistant glanced curiously at Lin Feng from time to time. After stepping out of the company, she asked, “Mr. Lin, do you mind telling me how you plan to handle Zhao Kang?”
“This Zhao Kang is not easy to deal with. I’ve tried to meet him several times before, but couldn’t even get an audience. A few times, I almost—”
“I have my own methods. Just show me the way,” Lin Feng replied calmly, without revealing his plan.
He wasn’t yet certain whether Zhao Kang was the kind of man he imagined.
The assistant pursed her lips, not daring to press further.
Based on what she’d witnessed in President Su’s office yesterday, she could tell that Lin Feng’s relationship with Su Qingxue was anything but ordinary.
Perhaps he was President Su’s secret lover.
Half an hour later, they arrived together at Kangyang Construction Materials Company.
As soon as they got out of the car, the assistant drew the attention of many employees inside the company. She was dressed in a blue professional outfit today—a fitted skirt paired with stockings, perfectly accentuating her slender, graceful figure.
“Hello, I am Xue Siyu, assistant to President Su of Su Group Bank. Is Chairman Zhao available?” Xue Siyu approached the front desk of the construction materials company and inquired of an employee.
