The moment Leopard Lord strode in from outside, the entire atmosphere turned chillingly silent. The burly blond man, however, felt as if his savior had arrived; clutching his chest, he hurried over and said, “Leopard Lord, you’re finally here! That guy hit me, and even insulted you!”

“Hmph, I thought it was someone important—turns out it’s just a blond brat. Useless, the lot of you. More and more disappointing.” Leopard Lord, with his sharp, monkey-like features, snorted coldly and shoved the blond aside. Stepping forward, he declared, “Kid, in this part of town, no one has ever dared show me, Leopard Lord, any disrespect.”

“I see you’re young, so today I’ll give you a chance to apologize. Kneel before my man, apologize, and promise to stay out of our business, and I’ll let you off.”

“No need. They all deserve what’s coming to them. Including you,” Lin Feng replied bluntly.

A gasp rippled through the restaurant—tension thickened once more. Even the air around Leopard Lord seemed to shift; his fists clenched with crackling joints, and a murderous glint flared in his eyes, followed by a cold, sinister laugh. “Very well. I admire your courage, young man. But you’ll pay a price for your arrogance. Tonight, I’ll personally send you to your grave.”

“No, please, Leopard Lord, let’s sign, we’ll sign!” Aunt Yao, seeing Leopard Lord’s murderous intent, rushed over, pleading loudly, “As long as you spare Xiaofeng and us, and bring my daughter back safely, we’ll sign the agreement!”

“Now you want to compromise?” Leopard Lord shot her a cold look, his eyes still brimming with killing intent. “Too late. Anyone I, Leopard Lord, decide to kill—nobody can stop me. I’ll deal with you after I finish him.”

With a thunderous boom, Leopard Lord slammed his long knife to the ground, sending a powerful wave of force through the air. He was the master of Thunder Leopard Hall, a notorious figure in River City—anyone who dared defy him faced only death.

Lin Feng’s expression did not change. He eyed Leopard Lord’s strength coolly, sensing at once that they were nowhere near the same level—like earth and sky apart.

“Fine. I’ll teach you a lesson along with the rest. Let’s see if your so-called strength can withstand even a single blow from me.”

With a murderous edge to his voice, Lin Feng suddenly charged, taking the initiative to attack. To Leopard Lord, it seemed but a blur flashed through the air, and in the next instant, Lin Feng stood before him. In a panic, Leopard Lord raised his blade single-handedly, slashing at Lin Feng’s chest, the blade skimming past Lin Feng’s neck.

Lin Feng dodged the attack with ease, darted behind him, and with a sharp crack, kicked out and broke Leopard Lord’s ankle, making him collapse to his knees with a thud. In the next instant, Lin Feng gripped his shoulder and shattered his collarbone, causing him to howl in agony.

Leopard Lord let out a bloodcurdling scream. His men, furious, grit their teeth and prepared to rush Lin Feng. But Lin Feng, with a tap of his toe, dragged Leopard Lord’s body swiftly to the dining table. Striking the table’s corner, he sent a spray of splinters flying like blades. Any minion struck by a fragment was instantly cut open, each shard precisely severing tendons—they collapsed one after another.

The entire ordeal lasted less than half a minute.

Leopard Lord, witnessing Lin Feng’s astounding display, was thunderstruck. Just who was this young man? How could he possess such terrifying power?

“Please, big brother, don’t kill me! I’m just a lackey, I beg you to spare me. I’ll repay your kindness in the future, I swear!” Leopard Lord, eyes darting, pleaded obsequiously.

Lin Feng turned, staring at him with icy sternness. “Where is Xiaoqian? Bring her to me, and I might consider sparing you.”

“Yes, of course, just wait a moment!” Leopard Lord dared not delay; he whistled, and two subordinates brought in Bai Xiaoqian, who had been kidnapped.

Bai Xiaoqian’s face was covered in bruises, clearly the result of a beating. Fortunately, she had not been further violated; had Lin Feng arrived any later, the outcome might have been tragic.

“Untie her, then get out of River City. If I ever see you again, I’ll kill you myself,” Lin Feng demanded, releasing Leopard Lord, who staggered forward a few steps.

Not daring to linger, Leopard Lord signaled his men to free Bai Xiaoqian, then hurriedly fled with his lackeys.

As soon as they were gone, Bai Xiaoqian, with tears streaming down her face, ran straight into Uncle Bai and Aunt Yao’s embrace.

“Dad, Mom, I missed you so much!” Bai Xiaoqian clung tightly to her parents, sobbing as memories of her ordeal flashed through her mind. Tears filled their eyes in relief, grateful their daughter was unharmed—otherwise, they would not know how to go on living.

Regaining her composure, Bai Xiaoqian turned to Lin Feng, wiping away her tears, curiosity and gratitude mingling in her voice. “Brother Lin Feng? Why are you here? You just saved me—I have no way to repay you.”

“No need for thanks. You’ve helped me plenty in the past; it’s only right that I help you.” Lin Feng replied casually, but his stomach rumbled audibly. Smiling at the elder couple, he said, “Uncle Bai, Aunt Yao, I’ve beaten them off— they won’t dare come back. Could you make me something to eat?”

“Of course, Xiaofeng, just wait a moment.” Uncle Bai nodded eagerly and hurried with Aunt Yao into the kitchen.

Lin Feng sat down with Bai Xiaoqian, who couldn’t help but ask, “Brother Lin Feng, isn’t Sister Mengmeng with you? Are you two still together?”

“We broke up a long time ago,” Lin Feng answered straightforwardly.

“What? You broke up?” Bai Xiaoqian looked shocked. She remembered how close Lin Feng and Qin Meng had been—how could they have separated?

Lin Feng offered no further explanation, only a few simple words, then said seriously, “Xiaoqian, I actually came today to speak with Uncle Bai and Aunt Yao. Soon, I want to bring some friends over for a meal. I hope Uncle Bai will show off his best dishes.”

“Of course, Xiaofeng, you can count on us. However many you bring, we’ll host them all—and make sure they leave satisfied.”

As he spoke, Uncle Bai brought over a steaming bowl of Imperial Duck Soup. The moment the lid was lifted, Lin Feng’s mouth nearly watered.

It tasted just like he remembered.

He devoured it eagerly, repeatedly giving Uncle Bai a thumbs up for his culinary skills.

Bai Xiaoqian, in high spirits, watched him eat and drink with a gentle smile on her face, her eyes never leaving Lin Feng, lost in thought.
