"Lin Feng, rest assured, I have no intention of competing with Miss Su for your affection. I simply wish to be friends."
"By the way, don’t you want to meet masters from the Ancient Martial World? They possess many martial arts manuals and miraculous elixirs," Li Bing’er recalled her previous reason for seeking his help and asked again with a smile.

Lin Feng halted in his tracks, turned back, and asked, "Do you really know them?"

"Of course I do. But there’s a condition: you have to take me home and check if the feng shui there is still problematic. If you help me, I’ll make the introduction for you," Li Bing’er replied proudly, lifting her chin.

"It’s a deal," Lin Feng agreed after a moment’s thought.

For the sake of elixirs, lending her a hand didn't seem out of the question. With those miraculous pills, his strength could increase dramatically.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the Li residence.

As the car came to a stop, Li Bing’er led Lin Feng out. Before them stood a villa nearly a thousand square meters in size, complete with a private swimming pool in the yard, six floors in all, decorated in a European style, and exuding an imposing grandeur.

Lin Feng couldn’t help but marvel at the sight. The Li family’s wealth was indeed formidable.

"Come with me, Lin Feng," Li Bing’er said, her beautiful eyes twinkling as she flashed him an enticing, flirtatious smile and led him into the villa.

No sooner had they stepped inside than Lin Feng felt a powerful baleful aura swirling within—so dense that it filled the entire house. He realized he had underestimated its potency.

"Lin Feng, what’s wrong? Come on, my bedroom is upstairs," Li Bing’er prompted, seeing him pause.

"Wait," Lin Feng replied. "Your house is already shrouded in baleful energy. The closer you get to the source, the greater the danger—you might even lose your life. Go fetch me some talisman papers and cinnabar."

"Is it really that serious? Wait here!" Seeing how grave he looked, Li Bing’er knew he was not joking. She hurried to the living room to find the items, which happened to be stored in a drawer by the coffee table.

Soon, she brought them to Lin Feng.

After checking them over, he nodded. "Good. Stay behind me. I’ll help you expel the evil energy from your home."

"Alright," Li Bing’er replied, balling her small fists nervously and following closely.

She’d never been afraid of much, but ever since her encounter with baleful energy, she’d developed a deep-seated fear of it.

Lin Feng, holding the talismans and cinnabar, advanced upstairs with great caution.

But as soon as they reached the landing, a surge of sinister energy rushed at them! Lin Feng swiftly dabbed cinnabar onto a talisman and hurled it toward the baleful mist.

A sharp crack split the air, and a burst of fire exploded mid-flight!

"Help!" Li Bing’er screamed, leaping up in terror and wrapping herself around Lin Feng.

At once, Lin Feng felt a heat flood his body. Looking down, he saw Li Bing’er’s legs tightly gripping his waist, her body pressed intimately against his; her arms were looped around his neck, and she clung to him without the slightest reservation.

In that instant, as he glanced down, he caught sight of something he shouldn’t have. His cheeks flushed instantly.

"Hey, what are you doing? Get down now!" he said sternly, quickly averting his eyes.

"Oh, right," Li Bing’er replied, coming to her senses. Noticing her compromising position, she blushed and hurriedly slid off him. "Sorry, Lin Feng. I was just really scared."

"It’s fine. The baleful energy here is strong, but I’ve found the source. It’s coming from that room," Lin Feng explained seriously.

"That’s my bedroom. The cemetery faces my window directly. Lin Feng, can you seal the source?" Li Bing’er asked curiously.

"You’re protected by an ancient jade. Just take this talisman and the cinnabar, and stick it on your window facing the cemetery. That will temporarily seal the source. I’ll stay here and continue clearing the rest of the house," Lin Feng instructed, handing her the items.

"Alright," Li Bing’er nodded, obediently entering her bedroom.

Lin Feng remained outside, methodically dispelling the baleful energy throughout the villa. Though powerful, it was no match for the Lin family’s secret arts, which he had inherited—arts that specialized in feng shui and the occult.

Ten minutes later, he had nearly cleansed the entire house. Yet, Li Bing’er still hadn’t come out of her room. She only needed to post a talisman; why was it taking so long?

Curious, Lin Feng went upstairs and headed directly to her room—only to be stunned by the scene inside.

Li Bing’er stood frozen in the room, motionless, the talisman still clutched in her hand—she hadn’t put it up at all.

"Miss Li, are you alright?" Lin Feng asked anxiously, approaching to check on her, suspecting she might have been immobilized by some mystical force. Yet upon inspection, her body appeared perfectly normal.

How strange. What was going on?

Perplexed, he waved his hand before her eyes. Suddenly, she snapped out of her daze.

At once, she grabbed his arm in panic. "Lin Feng, help me! Just now, I saw a shadow fly past the window. It must be a spirit born from the baleful energy! Go catch it!"

"What nonsense?" Lin Feng finally understood—she’d been scared stiff.

How could baleful feng shui energy become sentient?

He took the talisman from her, affixed it firmly to the window, then opened it to inspect the outside.

To his surprise, there was fresh soil and several footprints on the ledge.

The truth dawned on him—what Li Bing’er had seen was a person. Someone had been hiding in the Li villa!

"Damn, he got away," Lin Feng muttered, his gaze sharpening.

Whoever had been lurking here clearly meant harm to the Li family. Moving so deftly at such a height, they had to be highly skilled.

Wait—a person hiding here, with such dense baleful energy in the house… Could it be…

He recalled that while cleansing the villa, the sinister aura hadn’t seemed natural. Such intensity was impossible unless someone had set up a formation.

And the person they’d just missed must be the one who set it up!

"What? Someone set up a formation?" Li Bing’er gasped in shock, then her expression turned to rage.
