Chapter 20: A Closed Door

Su Qingxue recalled what had happened previously at Liran Group; indeed, Lin Feng had said something like this. So he had anticipated that Su Shifeng would seize the opportunity to snatch the project! Instantly, a deeper sense of security welled up in her heart, her cheeks tinged with a faint blush as she felt the warmth of Lin Feng’s palm against her skin.

She gazed deeply into Lin Feng’s eyes, a surge of indescribable impulse rising within her. Gradually, she couldn’t help but lean closer, her face nearing his. Just as Lin Feng was about to feel the warmth of her lips, he suddenly snapped awake!

He quickly pushed Su Qingxue away and said seriously, “Qingxue, let’s leave here first.” Without waiting for her response, Lin Feng instructed the driver to start the car, having him take both himself and Su Qingxue to his home.

Only then did Su Qingxue suddenly regain her senses. What had she just done? She had actually tried to kiss Lin Feng of her own accord? Their relationship hadn’t even been confirmed yet—how utterly embarrassing!

“Hey, who are you? This is Liran Group. Clients without an appointment aren’t allowed inside.”

At the entrance of Liran Group, Su Shifeng, elated and carrying the contract, came to discuss cooperation with Zhou Liran. Unexpectedly, as soon as he arrived, the security guards stopped him.

“I am Su Shifeng, the young master of Su Bank. I’m here to discuss cooperation with Chairman Zhou. Do you see the contract in my hand? How dare you block my way here?” Su Shifeng thought that with the contract in hand, those at Liran Group would regard the Su family with newfound respect. He deliberately waved the contract, showing off.

“Su Bank?” Upon hearing the name, the two security guards at the door exchanged cold glances. Zhou Liran had instructed them clearly: if anyone from Su Bank came, only Su Qingxue was allowed inside; all others were to be refused entry.

This Su Shifeng before them clearly didn’t qualify to meet the chairman.

“Oh, so you’re from the Su family? Just take your contract and leave the way you came. Chairman Zhou said he only discusses cooperation with Su Qingxue; he won’t meet anyone else.” The guard blocking his way waved dismissively at him as if shooing away a beggar, laughing with contempt.

“What did you say? You’re just a bunch of gatekeepers, yet you dare speak to me like this?” Su Shifeng’s face darkened in anger, his fists clenched tightly. He sneered and shouted, “Go report to Chairman Zhou immediately. I don’t believe he’d refuse to see me when I have the contract.”

“Oh, you really think you’re somebody, don’t you?” The guard mocked him with a loud laugh, ignoring his words completely. He flexed his fists and strode forward, his expression turning icy. “Who did you just call a gatekeeper? Take a look in the mirror and see what your status really is, thinking you can meet our chairman.”

“Hurry up and get lost. Don’t be an eyesore here. Chairman Zhou said he won’t meet you, so that’s final. If you don’t leave, don’t blame me for being rough.”

“You dare—” Su Shifeng confronted the guards on the spot.

He didn’t believe that Liran Group’s security would dare lay hands on him, the young master of the Su family!

The next moment, four or five security guards from Liran Group surrounded him.

Seeing the fierce demeanor of the guards around him, his courage instantly faltered. Pretending to be brave, he demanded, “What are you trying to do? I’m a cooperative client of Liran Group!”

“Beat him!” The guard blocking his way gave the order,
