It was the fifteenth of August, and by the time he left the hospital, the moonlight outside was as bright as snow.

Lin Feng, however, had no mood for admiring the moon. His steps were hurried as he strode swiftly through the silvery night. The legacy within him had only just awakened; he needed time to steady his cultivation. Moreover, he had to seek out Zhou Tai and Qin Meng, that despicable pair, to avenge the betrayal he had suffered.

Upon returning to his rented room, Lin Feng couldn’t be bothered to tidy up the mess scattered across the floor. He sat down directly, using the moonlight as his companion in cultivation.

The technique his grandfather had left him was called the Nirvana Sutra. At first, it was merely a set of breathing exercises, but after his awakening, the method had transformed—becoming something vastly superior.

It was a true leap in quality.

By the next morning, Lin Feng felt his strength had doubled once more. His lower abdomen brimmed with vital energy, and he had directly advanced to the third tier of Qi cultivation.

Just as he was about to delve deeper into the inherited memories, his phone chimed with a new message.

"Dear customer, your guaranteed loan application at our bank has been successfully submitted. Please cherish your personal credit..."

Each word pierced Lin Feng’s eyes like a needle.

Those two had acted swiftly! Fury surged within him as he quickly called the bank to confirm the location. Determination flared, and he sprang to his feet, heading straight there.

Little did he know that, at the hospital, someone else was inquiring about his whereabouts.

“Director Zhang, can’t you at least tell me the name of the person who saved me?”

A gentle, clear face spoke softly, difficult to refuse.

But Zhang Yuanqing could only smile ruefully and explain, “Miss Su, I’m not deliberately withholding anything. I truly don’t know. I contacted the emergency center as well—everything was too urgent yesterday, and we haven’t confirmed any further information. We only know his name is Lin Feng...”

“I see.”

Su Qingxue’s gaze dimmed. The feeling of not knowing whom to thank weighed heavily on her.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

“Miss, there’s something odd about a loan application. Because it’s being handled by Manager Xue, I didn’t dare ask more. Would you like to look into it?”

“What’s odd about it?” Su Qingxue asked casually. She had suddenly fallen ill at home, so few people knew of her condition.

The next moment, her beautiful eyes widened in shock.

“You’re saying the guarantor’s name is Lin Feng?!”

At this moment, Lin Feng had already arrived at the Su Bank.

As soon as he stepped into the lobby, he spotted a familiar figure sitting in the VIP waiting area, happily touching up her makeup.

Lin Feng’s anger flared. With a few quick strides, he closed the distance, slapped the lipstick from Qin Meng’s hand, and fixed her with a burning glare.

“So, it’s you. I was wondering which fool it could be,” Qin Meng sneered, looking Lin Feng up and down. “You’re tougher than I thought. Already back on your feet?”

“Where’s that bastard Zhou Tai?” Lin Feng demanded. “You two forged the guarantee document—are you insane?”

His eyes swept the lobby with a piercing gaze, making Qin Meng flinch.

But then, following his line of sight, she smiled slyly. “Tai, everything’s set, right? When will the money arrive?”

“With Manager Xue here, the process is streamlined. We’ll have the funds by tomorrow,” Zhou Tai replied, exchanging a glance with the man beside him. Then he noticed Lin Feng nearby and grinned. “Isn’t this our guarantor? Relax, all the paperwork is done. You don’t need to do a thing.”

Hearing this, Lin Feng let out a cold laugh. He took out his phone. “On the contrary, not only will you be doing something, I’ll be sending you and Manager Xue straight to the police!”

“You? What a joke.”

“Yes, me.”

With that, Lin Feng began dialing the police.

Manager Xue, seeing this, quickly tugged at Zhou Tai and whispered, “If he makes a scene now, it might delay the funds. Stop him.”

“Simple enough,” Zhou Tai said, cracking his knuckles. He brought his palm down on Lin Feng’s shoulder, certain that a good beating would settle everything.

But the instant he touched Lin Feng, an immense force rebounded, launching him high into the air and sending him tumbling violently to the ground.

With a thud, he crashed down hard, grimacing in pain. Not only did his tailbone feel shattered, but even his hand was fractured.

Lin Feng was slightly surprised. After just one night of cultivation, he wielded such power!

“Are you alright, Tai?” Qin Meng was startled. She skirted around Lin Feng to check on Zhou Tai. “Something’s off with him today. Should we call for more backup?”

Manager Xue, however, remained composed. “Miss Qin, there’s no need to worry. To cause trouble in Su Bank, he’ll not be leaving so easily. Security!”

At his command, five security guards immediately surrounded Lin Feng, forming an impenetrable circle.

Yet Lin Feng faced them calmly, feeling so brimming with strength that he could take on a thousand men.

At that moment, a clear voice rang out from the crowd.

“Who gave you permission to use force?”

“Damn, another busybody. Manager Xue, ignore her—tell the guards to deal with him!” Zhou Tai shouted fiercely, but noticed something wrong in Manager Xue’s expression.

Manager Xue hunched obsequiously and approached, grinning ear to ear. “Miss, what brings you here?”

Miss!

The title sent a shiver through everyone present.

Lin Feng, too, was surprised. The newcomer was the very girl he had rescued at the hospital the day before.

“What is happening here?” Su Qingxue’s brows knitted in mild displeasure.

Manager Xue waved his hand dismissively, forcing a smile. “It’s just a disturbance, Miss. I’ll have him removed at once—no need for concern.”

“Is it a disturbance, or are you acting in violation of regulations, Manager Xue?” Su Qingxue’s voice cooled. “Let’s not beat around the bush. There’s a loan with Lin Feng as guarantor. What’s going on?”

“I...” Manager Xue faltered, his eyes darting nervously to Lin Feng.

Su Qingxue’s lashes trembled as her gaze settled on Lin Feng. “You’re Lin Feng?”

“You shouldn’t have come,” Lin Feng said seriously. “You’ve only just recovered and should be resting at home.”

“It really is you!” Su Qingxue’s delight was evident. If not for the crowd, she might have bowed to Lin Feng on the spot.

Nearby, Zhou Tai and Qin Meng watched in growing terror. Zhou Tai edged closer to Manager Xue and whispered, “Manager Xue, who is this Miss Su...?”

Without warning, Manager Xue kicked him aside. “Good job, Zhou Tai—using a fraudulent guarantee to apply for a loan with me. You must think you’re untouchable!”

A shrewd man, Manager Xue instantly recognized the situation. He turned on Zhou Tai and Qin Meng, roaring, “This loan is canceled! Both of you—get out, as far as you can!”

“Wait,” Su Qingxue interrupted coldly. Though she had been gentle with Lin Feng, her eyes now turned to the others, icy as black frost. “The matter hasn’t been fully investigated. Who told you to let them leave?”
