Chapter 116: The Invitation
After receiving the knife, Lin Feng slowly approached Xue Lang’s side, half-squatted down, casually grabbed his left arm, and positioned his index and middle fingers together to strike directly at his elbow joint.
With a flash of the blade in midair, a cut instantly appeared on Xue Lang’s forearm, black blood slowly seeping out.
Lin Feng pressed one hand on his acupoint while his other hand gripped the knife, expertly slicing and stabbing along the arm with swift, flowing movements like drifting clouds—graceful and precise.
“What incredible knife skills! Could this be the Jin family’s blade technique documented in ancient medical texts?” Xu Wenming murmured in admiration as he watched Lin Feng’s treatment.
That particular blade technique was believed to be wielded only by descendants of the Jin family, who had long since disappeared without a trace, causing the technique to vanish from medical circles as well.
Master truly is a prodigy in medicine!
What medical art could there possibly be that Master cannot perform?
The knife in Lin Feng’s hand shimmered with golden light, and with each strike, it seemed as if a golden dragon appeared midair. Even Xue Lang was stunned by the exquisite venom-dispelling blade technique.
He gritted his teeth against the pain and waited patiently until Lin Feng had made thirty-two precise cuts. Only then did Lin Feng set the knife aside and skillfully wrap a bandage tightly around his entire forearm using a crisscross method.
The pain from the wound gradually faded. When Lin Feng released his arm, Xue Lang attempted to take his pulse and found that the poison within his body had truly vanished.
“What a formidable blade technique. Who exactly are you? I’ve practiced dark medicine for half my life and still can’t match you,” Xue Lang said in astonishment, looking at Lin Feng.
“I’m merely a doctor. The quality of medical skill has nothing to do with age. Don’t forget the promise you made just now,” Lin Feng replied casually.
He then carefully wiped the poisonous blood off the blade with a tissue, knowing that any contact with the toxic blood could cause rapid poisoning.
“Rest assured, I, Xue Lang, keep my word. Today, I admit defeat wholeheartedly.”
“From today forward, I will no longer provoke my senior brother. It was wrong of me to compete with him for the title of the top physician in Jiang City,” Xue Lang said solemnly to Xu Wenming, then turned away in disappointment.
Seeing Xue Lang’s realization, Xu Wenming felt relief and hoped that he would live righteously from now on, free from the control of his inner demons.
“Master, I’m truly grateful for what you did today. Thank you for helping my junior brother walk out of the wrong path and removing the poison from his body,” he said, coming back to his senses and looking earnestly at Lin Feng.
Lin Feng smiled slightly, unbothered. “It’s nothing. I actually came to see you today for another matter—I urgently need a bronze medicine cauldron, the older the better.”
“I have several extremely precious medicinal herbs that require refining with a cauldron. Since you are the top physician in Jiang City, I’m sure you have the resources to help me find one.”
“A bronze medicine cauldron? No problem. Master, leave it to me. Once I find one, I will personally deliver it to your home,” Xu Wenming agreed without hesitation.
Lin Feng nodded and was about to take his leave when Xu Wenming stopped him.
“Master, there’s one more thing I’d like to ask of you. I hope you can help.”
“What is it?” Lin Feng asked with curiosity.
“I have a friend in the medicinal herb supply business who’s been very close to me. Recently, he contracted a strange illness that even I have never seen before. His condition is critical, so I want to ask you to take a look.”
“Oh?” Lin Feng’s brow suddenly furrowed.
He didn’t feel much about the illness itself, but the man's identity caught his interest. Since he also needed to help Zhou Liran find a supplier of medicinal herbs, if this friend met the standards of the Liran Group, it would solve the problem.
“You said this man is in the herb supply business? Is his operation large?”
“Ah? Yes, very large. His herb factory is not only the top in Jiang City but also supplies many well-known pharmaceutical companies in the provincial capital.”
“Among them are Huali Pharmaceutical Group and the largest, Zhao Pharmaceutical Group,” Xu Wenming said plainly.
“Is that so? Perfect. Lead the way; I’ll help you assess his condition,” Lin Feng agreed thoughtfully.
Xu Wenming’s face lit up immediately as he nodded repeatedly and invited Lin Feng to accompany him to his friend’s home.
Ten minutes later, they arrived at the Tianding Haijing Villas.
This was one of the finest villa districts in Jiang City, mostly inhabited by wealthy businessmen.
Only people of Zhou Liran’s stature had the privilege to reside in such high-class villas.
“Master has arrived. Please follow me,” Xu Wenming said respectfully as they stepped out of the car and headed toward Villa No. 9.
The villa was decorated in a Nordic style, towering six stories—four above ground and two below—majestic and luxurious.
It featured an independent garden and swimming pool, as well as an open-air tea terrace, adorned with artificial hills and flowing water, creating a serene atmosphere.
After ringing the doorbell, a moment later a housekeeper appeared and immediately recognized Xu Wenming, greeting him warmly.
“Great Physician Xu, you’re here. May I ask who this is?”
“He’s my master. I brought him specially to treat Old Cao,” Xu Wenming replied straightforwardly.
“I see. Great Physician Xu, please come inside,” the housekeeper hurriedly opened the door and welcomed them into the villa.
Lin Feng followed Xu Wenming into the villa, where in the hall stood a tall, blonde-haired, blue-eyed foreigner wearing a white coat, chatting casually with others in similar attire about Old Cao’s condition.
Seeing this, Xu Wenming’s curiosity deepened, wondering what was happening.
At that moment, a noblewoman dressed in luxurious silk pajamas descended from upstairs, accompanied by a bearded foreign man who also appeared to be a doctor.
“Next,” the noblewoman called out casually as a doctor stepped forward from the crowd to go upstairs and attend to Old Cao.
Xu Wenming approached her inquisitively. “Sister-in-law, who are these people? Has Old Cao’s condition worsened?”
“Great Physician Xu is here,” the noblewoman said, descending the stairs and shaking her head gravely.
“Ever since you left last time, Old Cao’s illness has steadily worsened. Now his entire body is paralyzed, and his consciousness flickers in and out.”
“These are renowned medical professors I hired at great expense from abroad. They claim they can cure Old Cao’s illness,” she explained earnestly.
Lin Feng observed the noblewoman closely. She was at least in her fifties, yet her skin was impeccably maintained, making her look no older than someone in their twenties or thirties.
Still radiantly charming.
But when his gaze shifted to the jade pendant hanging around her neck, his brow suddenly tightened.
