Chapter 115: Thorough Conviction
This set of Tai Chi Five Elements Needles is a long-lost acupuncture technique. Legend has it that when the ancient ancestor Fuxi studied the Eight Trigrams, he gained a profound understanding of the body's seven main meridians and eight collateral vessels. This needle method was developed based on the body's meridian system, capable of clearing all the body's tendons and collaterals and dissolving even the most stubborn toxins.
Though Lin Feng held no physical needles, he possessed the essence of needles in his mind. He achieved the realm of transforming qi into needles, thereby performing acupuncture without tools—a feat even more challenging than the original method created by Fuxi himself.
Xu Wenming had believed this technique was lost to the world forever, yet unexpectedly, Lin Feng flawlessly demonstrated it.
"Tai Chi Five Elements Needles? What nonsense! With these shabby ‘needles,’ you think you can detoxify me?" Xue Lang sneered at Lin Feng's elaborate movements.
In just two short minutes, the bruised toxins around Lin Feng’s chest began to dissolve in large patches, leaving Xue Lang stunned.
He rubbed his eyes in disbelief and looked again at Lin Feng’s chest, realizing that Lin Feng had truly dispelled the poison he had inflicted upon him.
The entire detoxification process took merely two minutes and fifty seconds.
"What? Impossible!" Xue Lang’s eyes widened as he stared incredulously at Lin Feng, shaking his head repeatedly.
Lin Feng slowly opened his eyes, a faint smile curling at the corner of his lips, disdainfully saying, "I’ve already removed your poison. Now, it’s my turn to poison you."
"Hmph, you brat, don’t get cocky. I, Xue Lang, have studied poisons for half my life. I refuse to believe I can be beaten by you. Bring it on if you dare," Xue Lang retorted defiantly, thrusting his chest forward without any fear.
Lin Feng smiled calmly. With his index and middle fingers pressed together, he suddenly appeared before Xue Lang with lightning speed, his finger technique piercing through the entire meridian system, directly striking the Shenque acupoint at his navel.
Xue Lang felt a sudden blockage in his chest as the finger force spread like an explosive wave of qi throughout his body’s meridians, sending a chill coursing through him and causing him to shiver involuntarily.
"Is that all?" Xue Lang asked in surprise as Lin Feng withdrew his finger force. His body showed no immediate signs of poisoning.
"Exactly. Your body will react within five minutes, but rest assured, I won’t start the timer until your poison manifests," Lin Feng said coolly.
Even Xu Wenming was baffled by the scene. He had no idea what Lin Feng had done to Xue Lang.
One or two minutes passed, yet Xue Lang felt no signs of poisoning, and even his pulse diagnosis showed no toxins within.
But at the fifth minute, a sudden sharp pain surged through his chest, followed by his abdomen and the joints of both arms, a strange ache as if his bones were soaked in ice.
"Strange. What’s happening? Why do I feel so cold?" Xue Lang’s expression darkened as he weakly examined his pulse, suddenly realizing that poison had infiltrated his body and was spreading rapidly, making it impossible to pinpoint.
He tried to block the meridians with acupressure to halt the poison’s spread but found that no matter where he applied pressure, the toxin immediately flowed to another area.
This poison was impossible to contain.
"What kind of poison did you give me that moves so fast?" Xue Lang asked Lin Feng in astonishment.
"One minute has passed, and you still don’t know what poison you’re carrying. Seems your expertise in poison is not as good as you thought," Lin Feng said with a faint, mocking smile.
"You... just wait! I refuse to believe I can’t detoxify you," Xue Lang said stubbornly, trying other methods.
He fetched several silver needles, piercing them into his chest and abdomen, then went to a nearby medicine cabinet to mix a dozen poisonous herbs, swallowing them all at once while manipulating the needles.
Xu Wenming frowned deeply, realizing Xue Lang intended to use the poison-with-poison method, a technique of counteracting poison by poison.
However, midway through his efforts, the poison he ingested didn’t neutralize the toxin inside; instead, it exacerbated the spread.
Suddenly, Xue Lang spat a mouthful of blood and collapsed to the ground, his face turning black.
Looking at the clock surpassing three minutes, Lin Feng sneered, "You’ve already lost. Three minutes have passed. Do you know what poison you’re carrying now?"
"You brat, you’re ruthless!" Xue Lang gasped, his lips blackened as he looked at Lin Feng. "You actually used your finger force to penetrate into my dantian, activating all the hidden poisons I’ve accumulated over the years."
"Once these toxins are triggered, I’m doomed. I never expected that after a lifetime of cunning, I’d fall to a mere child like you."
"Heh, you’re not foolish. You think this poison is incurable, but to me, detoxification is just a matter of time," Lin Feng said disdainfully.
"What? You can detoxify all the poisons I’ve accumulated over the years?" Xue Lang stared at Lin Feng in shock.
He prided himself on the poisons within his body—unseen and unmatched throughout the entire medical world. Even he could no longer recall how many toxins were stored in his dantian, having long practiced forbidden medicine and frequently poisoned himself to enhance his skills.
Unknowingly, the toxins had piled up over time, and unable to deal with them, he forcibly suppressed them in his dantian.
Yet this young man now claimed he could purge those toxins—a prospect utterly impossible to Xue Lang.
"There are a total of 1,008 different poisons in your body, each unique. But they share one trait: they interact with each other in cycles of promotion and suppression, which is why they’ve remained stable inside you for so long."
"As long as the poison can be guided out, your body’s toxins will naturally be cleansed," Lin Feng explained bluntly.
"Easy to say. The poisons in my body cannot be drawn out. You’re just talking big," Xue Lang scoffed.
"What if I can draw them out?" Lin Feng countered with a faint smile.
"If you can help me purge the toxins and save my life, I’ll obey you without question from now on. Even if it means giving you my grandson, I won’t hesitate," Xue Lang vowed solemnly.
"I don’t have a grandson—that would shorten my lifespan," Lin Feng replied with a smirk. "Here’s the deal: if I help you detox, you apologize to Old Xu and promise never to target him again."
"As for your practice of forbidden medicine, once your toxins are expelled, all your half-life of hard work will be in vain. You won’t be able to continue, so you might as well announce your retirement from the medical field."
"Fine, I agree. As long as you save my life, I’ll quit medicine immediately and stop giving him any trouble," Xue Lang said, clutching his chest, seemingly enlightened in his final moments.
"Old Xu, go fetch me a knife and some bandages to stop the bleeding," Lin Feng said, turning to Xu Wenming.
"Yes, Master," Xu Wenming nodded and quickly instructed his subordinates to bring the requested items.
