As soon as they pushed the door open, they were met with utter chaos inside—the floor was strewn with scattered documents. Su Shifeng was leisurely reclining in his chair, both legs propped up on the desk, idly spinning a walkie-talkie in his hand, looking every bit the schemer who had just pulled off a successful trick.

When he saw Su Qingxue enter, a smug smile curled on his lips. He spoke with feigned casualness, “Oh, Qingxue, you’re back so soon? You certainly keep yourself well-informed.”

“Su Shifeng, what are you trying to do? Why did you send all the bank employees home?” Su Qingxue, still furious, her willow brows drawn into a sharp line, shouted at him angrily.

“I never sent them home to rest. They all asked for leave of their own accord. I simply helped approve the requests, that’s all,” Su Shifeng replied with self-satisfaction, then suddenly slapped his forehead as if recalling something. “Oh, right, I heard they’re all off to apply for jobs at other companies where the pay is better.”

“Our bank has always prided itself on being humane; of course we mustn’t stand in the way of people’s promising futures. Don’t you agree, Qingxue?”

“Su Shifeng, you—” Su Qingxue was nearly beside herself with rage. Su Shifeng would stop at nothing to achieve his goals.

The mass exodus of bank employees would bring no benefit to the Su family; it would only cause enormous losses. And all of this must have been orchestrated by Su Shifeng.

“Qingxue, you’re set to marry Young Master Bai next week anyway. Why not let me handle the bank’s affairs? Once you’re part of the Bai family, you won’t have to lift a finger—just enjoy a life of luxury. There’s only one condition: you must serve Young Master Bai well. Instead of wasting your time here with me, you’d be better off sprucing yourself up, learning how to entice a man. Once you have Young Master Bai eating out of your hand, our Su family will reap the benefits.”

Su Shifeng continued his leisurely taunts, never sparing Lin Feng a single glance.

Su Qingxue ground her teeth in anger. This despicable man was truly foul-mouthed.

“Keep dreaming!” she shot back, glaring at Su Shifeng. “I will never marry into the Bai family, and don’t count on me to curry favor with them. What I do is none of your concern.”

“Heh! In the Su family, you’re nothing but a tool, so what makes you so uppity? From now on, everything in the Su family will belong to me, Su Shifeng. You’d do well to know your place and obey. If you just do as Young Master Bai wishes, with your looks and figure, you’ll have him completely bewitched.”

He looked her up and down with undisguised contempt, before mocking, “And you’d better curb that temper—anger causes pimples, and then Young Master Bai won’t like you anymore. Or do you want to be the disgrace of the Su family?”

“You—” Su Qingxue’s fists clenched so tightly her knuckles turned white. She didn’t even know how to argue with him.

It was true that her status in the family was not equal to Su Shifeng’s. Their grandmother favored sons over daughters, and in her eyes, only Su Shifeng represented the future of the family.

At that moment, Lin Feng suddenly smiled, rubbing his hands as he stepped forward. “Su Shifeng, you really have a thick skin. Did you already forget the pain from our last encounter? Or do you want another beating?”

“Don’t be so cocky in front of me. No matter how tough you are, do you think you can take on the whole Su family?” Su Shifeng sneered, “Don’t think I don’t know you’re just a good-for-nothing loser. Your girlfriend ran off with someone else, and you couldn’t even win her back. What are you showing off for?”

He looked at Lin Feng with utter disdain. He had already had Lin Feng thoroughly investigated, discovering that he had no status, no background—a penniless cuckold, nothing more.

Unfortunately, he only knew what everyone else knew; about Lin Feng’s secret inheritance, he was completely ignorant.

Lin Feng only scoffed. “So you’ve done your homework on me. At least you’re not entirely brainless. But did you find out why I’m so formidable? This hand of mine is reserved for people who can’t keep their mouths shut. Want to give it a try?”

With that, Lin Feng strode directly toward Su Shifeng.

People like him deserved a good thrashing.

There was nothing a beating couldn’t solve. And if one wasn’t enough, two would do.

“Lin Feng, don’t come any closer! If you dare, I’ll set fire to all the files in this office!” Su Shifeng suddenly whipped out a lighter, aiming it at the file cabinet behind him and threatening brazenly.

The cabinet contained important client information and key bank contracts. If any of it was destroyed, the bank would suffer massive losses.

Lin Feng could never take responsibility for that.

He halted, a profound gleam in his eyes. So, Su Shifeng had come prepared, anticipating that Lin Feng might try to use force.

Witnessing this, Su Qingxue tensed, her heart pounding with anxiety. She hurriedly tried to reason with him. “Su Shifeng, calm down! Please, don’t do anything rash!”

“Haha, so you are afraid after all!” Su Shifeng laughed, then turned to Lin Feng. “Unless you get down on your knees, kowtow and apologize, and call me ‘Grandpa’ twice, I’ll torch the lot of them. Otherwise, kiss all these files goodbye.”

He moved the lighter even closer to the cabinet.

A cold jolt ran through Su Qingxue’s heart. Just as she was racking her brain for a solution, a sudden gust of chill swept past her.

In the blink of an eye, she realized Lin Feng was no longer at her side.

She turned just in time to see him, like a bolt of lightning, already standing before Su Shifeng. He seized Su Shifeng’s arm, snatched away the lighter, and with a sharp crack, dislocated his elbow on the spot.

A bloodcurdling scream echoed through the room!

Su Shifeng howled in agony, his face turning beet red as fat beads of sweat rolled down his cheeks uncontrollably. He stared at Lin Feng in disbelief. “Are you even human? How can you be so fast?”

“Aren’t you so good at digging up information?” Lin Feng retorted. “Keep investigating, then.”

With that, he drove a solid kick into Su Shifeng’s chest, sending him flying four or five meters and crashing hard at the doorway.

Su Qingxue felt a rush of satisfaction watching him get his due.

That man deserved nothing less than a thorough beating!

“Get lost. If you ever come back here to stir up trouble, I’ll beat you every time I see you.” Lin Feng clenched his fist as he threatened.

Clutching his chest, Su Shifeng, terrified by Lin Feng’s fearsome presence, scrambled to his feet and fled the office in utter panic.

At the threshold, he turned back, glaring venomously at Lin Feng. “You just wait, Lin Feng! I, Su Shifeng, will make you pay!”

“Anytime. I’ll be waiting,” Lin Feng replied coldly, utterly dismissive.

“Lin Feng, thank you.” Su Qingxue looked at him with gratitude as Su Shifeng left.

She owed everything that happened today to him.

Unconsciously, Lin Feng’s place in her heart had risen by several notches.

Lin Feng only shook his head with a modest smile. “No thanks needed. It was nothing. For now, you’d better call the bank employees back to work, or there’ll be a real disaster.”

“Yes, of course.” Su Qingxue nodded and went to handle the bank’s affairs herself.

But just as she sat down and reached for the phone, a sudden commotion erupted outside, and a manager rushed in, panic-stricken.

“President Su, something terrible has happened! There are crowds of clients outside demanding to withdraw their money—they’re claiming our bank is going bankrupt! We’re desperately short-handed at the counters and can’t possibly meet their needs!”

What?

Su Qingxue’s brows knit tightly in alarm!
