Chapter 9: The Film Crew!

Chen Fan was taken aback. Damn, so soon?

"Xiao Fan, your second sister is really something now."

"If you go out and ask anyone about Shao Zining,"

"Nine out of ten people will know her."

"She's the hottest young star in Dragon Country right now."

This, Chen Fan was aware of.

Just earlier on the road, he had casually given a reason to brush off how he’d found Meng Rongrong.

So, Meng Rongrong probably still thought Chen Fan didn’t know much about his other sisters.

But Chen Fan was confused too.

"Big Sis, isn’t it normal for stars to travel all over the country?"

"How is Second Sis still able to come home for meals?"

Meng Rongrong pouted and cast a glance at Chen Fan.

"Isn’t it the same for you?"

"Your second sister is famous, and her status is high now."

"She always says food outside isn’t as tasty as mine."

"She doesn’t want to take jobs that are far away, and most of her work is here in Huajiang."

Chen Fan straightened up immediately.

"Then I’d better hide well and give Second Sis a surprise!"

"If she comes home a bit early,"

Meng Rongrong gazed at Chen Fan, her eyes full of tenderness.

She had always worked hard, devoted herself to business, but felt something was missing in life.

Chen Fan waited patiently in the downstairs bedroom, but Meng Rongrong was getting anxious.

She was looking forward to seeing Shao Zining’s expression when she learned Chen Fan was back!

"I’ll call your second sister now."

The call connected.

Chen Fan heard a flustered, urgent voice from the other end.

It was his second sister, Shao Zining’s clear voice.

"Big Sis, I might not come home for lunch."

"There’s been a dispute with the investors here."

"I need to be present."

Meng Rongrong paused and glanced at Chen Fan, as if asking whether she should tell Shao Zining that he was back...

Sure enough, Chen Fan shook his head.

Before Meng Rongrong could reply, a man’s voice came through the phone.

"Shao Zining, what’s wrong with you?"

"How can the movie’s screening venue be here?"

"What’s so good about this place?"

"Young Master Song said..."

At that, Shao Zining hung up.

Meng Rongrong paused and smiled slightly.

"Xiao Fan, I’ll go make lunch."

"Let’s eat together."

Chen Fan smacked his lips, a better idea forming in his mind.

"Sis, where is Second Sis now?"

"I’ll go find her. The tone of the person on the phone didn’t sound good."

"I’m worried something might happen to her."

"And I can surprise Second Sis too."

Meng Rongrong originally didn’t want to bring it up; she was afraid Chen Fan would worry about Shao Zining.

She let out a long breath.

"Xiao Fan, let’s go together."

"Maybe something happened at the film crew."

Chen Fan stopped Meng Rongrong, stood up, and changed his shoes.

"Sis, you’d better stay."

"After what just happened at your company, and you’re still worried about me?"

"Make something delicious, and I’ll bring Second Sis back soon."

Watching Chen Fan’s departing figure, Meng Rongrong felt everything was so surreal...

A film crew was engaged in an intense discussion...
