Chapter 18: Shock!

With that, Li Youran was about to step forward into the Treasure Pavilion—she still had an auction to attend. This auction, it was said, featured a rare piece of amber. She greatly desired to add it to her collection, but there would surely be many bidders. The chance of her winning was slim. Still, even just seeing it would be delightful!

Suddenly, Chen Fan appeared before her once more.

"Miss, you're an orphan, aren't you?"

Li Youran paused, meeting Chen Fan's gaze. That face—it seemed oddly familiar… but no matter how long she pondered, she couldn't quite place it, so she simply waved him off.

Good heavens! Li Youran was utterly beside herself. What kind of being was this? He had gotten it all right! She had never believed in fortune-tellers before, but now… she had no choice but to believe!

Chen Fan chuckled mysteriously.

"Far away, yet right before your eyes," he said, deliberately revealing the scar on the right side of his neck for her to see.

Li Youran was stunned for a moment, then tears burst from her eyes. Xiao… Xiao Fan.

Excitement and joy completely flooded her heart. She threw her arms around Chen Fan.

"Xiao Fan, you've come back!"

A faint, gentle fragrance from Li Youran drifted to Chen Fan's nose. It was pleasant and comforting, making him feel at ease.

He reached out and gently patted Li Youran's back.

This scene utterly shocked the group of Chen Fan's friends who had been standing nearby, watching Li Youran with him.

"What’s going on?" he asked.

The driver hesitated, then quickly replied, "Boss, there’s a couple hugging in front. They’re blocking our way to the parking spot. There are no spaces on the outer lot. I’ll get out and ask them to move."

The man looked ahead. A couple? Well, the woman was quite good-looking, he had to admit. The man, though, was dressed rather plainly. How did those two get together?

Wait—hold on! That man! Isn’t that my junior disciple? Has he finally come down from the mountain? That woman—could she be one of his seven sisters?

Suddenly, the man hurriedly called back his driver, who was about to get out.

"Wait, get back in here! Whatever you do, don’t disturb them!"
