Chapter 0072: Be My Boyfriend for a Day
After leaving the Ye family villa, Zhang Xiaofan first went to the bank and deposited two million directly into the original account.
“Aunt Yun, I've transferred the money. You and Yuqing should pack up and leave Jinghai as soon as possible,” Zhang Xiaofan said, dialing Aunt Yun’s number.
“Thank you, Xiaofan,” Aunt Yun replied politely.
“No need to thank me, Aunt Yun. Ultimately, it’s because of me. I just hope you’ll have a better life in another city,” Zhang Xiaofan said. “I’m driving now, so I won’t keep you. Let me know when you’re settled. I’ll hang up now.”
After ending the call, Zhang Xiaofan felt much more at ease, knowing he’d arranged everything for Aunt Yun and her daughter.
He drove directly onto the highway, heading to the Mountain Waters Villa. President Lin was still waiting for him at home; he wondered if he was proving a rather unqualified bodyguard.
His Cayenne entered the villa grounds, where he saw Lin Siyu standing at the door.
Lin Siyu had put on makeup, her features exquisite and flawless, dressed in a light green dress that revealed her fair, beautiful legs. The simple and refreshing style gave her a whole new look.
Zhang Xiaofan had always seen Lin Siyu in office attire and hadn’t expected her to have this side, as youthful as a college student.
“President Lin, please get in the car,” Zhang Xiaofan said, stepping out and opening the back door for her.
“I want to sit in the front,” Lin Siyu replied, opening the passenger door herself and settling in.
Zhang Xiaofan shook his head—was she angry because he was late?
He closed the back door and got into the driver’s seat.
“Where are we going?” Zhang Xiaofan asked. “At your full service.”
Lin Siyu couldn’t help but laugh at his playful manner. “Let’s go to the commercial street. I want to buy a few clothes.”
“Certainly, please fasten your seatbelt. We’re about to set off,” Zhang Xiaofan said with exaggerated formality.
Lin Siyu had never seen Zhang Xiaofan act like this; he wasn’t very convincing and still seemed a bit mischievous.
“Can’t you be normal?” Lin Siyu rolled her eyes.
“Alright,” Zhang Xiaofan nodded, then grinned, “Sister Lin, you look gorgeous today. If only the neckline were a bit lower—I can’t see anything.”
“You… you’re impossible,” Lin Siyu said, annoyed.
Zhang Xiaofan felt wronged—it was she who’d asked him to be normal.
“Have you arranged everything?” Lin Siyu asked, not sounding angry at all.
Zhang Xiaofan nodded. “Everything’s settled. You won’t have to worry about them anymore.”
“That’s good,” Lin Siyu said.
“Sister Lin, why isn’t Sixue here today?” Zhang Xiaofan wondered; he thought that mischievous girl wouldn’t miss a chance to go shopping.
“Her father came to take her home,” Lin Siyu explained. “So, you’ll have one less person to spar with.”
“That little troublemaker’s gone? Even better—now nothing will disturb our time together,” Zhang Xiaofan joked. “Sister Lin, for better protection, should I move into your room?”
“No nonsense!” Lin Siyu rolled her eyes.
“Heh, just kidding. You should be much safer now. I’ll find a time to talk to Grandpa Lin; my task is almost finished,” Zhang Xiaofan said.
On his way here, Du Yuefeng from Dragon Soul had told him that Dragon Soul had launched an operation. Though they hadn’t identified the exact enemy, they’d sent a warning, and things would be calm for a while.
So, Zhang Xiaofan was planning to leave. His next step was to search for the other half of the Yin-Yang Fish stone. Once he had both pieces, he could seek out that ancient site. If nobody had plundered it, there would certainly be treasures to help him grow stronger.
With the Nine Heavens True Dragon Art, Zhang Xiaofan wouldn’t linger in Jinghai for long. The only thing he couldn’t let go of was Chen Yuanyuan—after all, he’d taken her first time.
“You’re leaving?” Lin Siyu felt disappointed. “When?”
“I haven’t decided yet. For now, I’m still your bodyguard,” Zhang Xiaofan replied with a smile.
“Can you stay?” Lin Siyu asked, not knowing why she voiced such a question.
“Uh…” Zhang Xiaofan was taken aback. He knew what Lin Siyu meant, but pretended not to. “Are you reluctant to let me go, Sister Lin? If so, why don’t you marry me?”
“I’m being serious—could you be serious too?” Lin Siyu said, exasperated.
“I am serious,” Zhang Xiaofan replied. “You know where I come from, Sister Lin. Eventually, I have to leave.”
“I see…” Lin Siyu knew, given Zhang Xiaofan’s identity, that he would leave. She’d only asked to fool herself.
Both fell silent as the Cayenne continued on, soon arriving at the commercial street.
To ease the mood, Zhang Xiaofan smiled, “Sister Lin, I haven’t left yet. I’ll stay in Jinghai for a while longer, at least until there’s no threat to you.”
“Alright, then do your job as my bodyguard properly! And behave yourself—no nonsense!” Lin Siyu said sternly. “If you keep spouting nonsense, I’ll really devour you. I’m older, so I’d profit.”
“Oh, I’m so scared, Sister, come devour me then,” Zhang Xiaofan laughed.
After parking, Zhang Xiaofan got out and opened the door for Lin Siyu, who didn't hesitate to take his arm. “Today’s a holiday—you’re not my bodyguard. Be my boyfriend for a day, how about it?”
“Sure, but since I’m your boyfriend, do I get any perks?” Zhang Xiaofan chuckled.
“Of course, you little rascal,” Lin Siyu replied.
The two left the parking lot and entered a building specializing in clothing—both international and domestic brands, with the cheapest items costing several thousand, and the most expensive reaching a million.
Lin Siyu took Zhang Xiaofan to the Hugo Boss store, an international brand specializing in men’s fashion.
She wanted to buy him clothes, which made him a bit excited.
Her simple dress was also a major label, costing over a hundred thousand. The shop assistant immediately recognized Lin Siyu’s status.
“Dear madam, how may I serve you?” the assistant asked.
Lin Siyu looked around, then pointed to the outfit on a mannequin. “Let’s try this set in his size.”
“Madam, you have excellent taste. This is this year’s latest style. Though it’s a casual suit, it exudes a masculine vibe, perfect for young men,” the assistant said, glancing at Zhang Xiaofan—he didn’t look wealthy, just handsome and young, easy to mistake as Lin Siyu’s kept man.
The assistant envied Zhang Xiaofan. This casual suit cost over eighty thousand; sometimes being pampered wasn’t so bad, especially with a rich, beautiful woman like Lin Siyu.
Zhang Xiaofan had no idea he’d been pegged as a gold-digger. He felt like a country bumpkin in the city; he’d never worn such high-end clothes.
Once he changed, Zhang Xiaofan looked completely transformed—more mature, handsome, and full of charisma.
Even the assistant’s eyes sparkled; he was even more attractive than the surgically enhanced male celebrities.
No wonder this wealthy beauty would keep him—he certainly had his own appeal.
The assistant wished some tycoon would pamper her, but she didn’t have the looks for it.
At that moment, a young man in his twenties entered, dressed in the same outfit as Zhang Xiaofan.
He was quite handsome, but his brows carried arrogance—a lofty, disdainful air.
Despite wearing the same outfit, he paled in comparison to Zhang Xiaofan.
The man entered, and upon seeing Lin Siyu, his face lit up.
“Siyu, I didn’t expect to meet you here! I’ve just returned and bumped into you—what a coincidence!” Han Ruofei said loudly, his eyes shining with excitement.
Lin Siyu frowned immediately at his arrival.
Han Ruofei was the son of the Jinghai mayor, who’d always pestered Lin Siyu, frequently courting her, much to her annoyance.
He’d been quiet for a while, away in the capital on business.
Lin Siyu hadn’t expected her luck to be so poor, running into him here.
The Han and Lin families were on good terms. Han’s family had proposed several times, but Lin Siyu had always refused. With Lin Haonan’s status, the Han family didn’t dare push too hard.
Though she disliked Han Ruofei, Lin Siyu remained polite.
“I’m here to buy clothes—what a coincidence,” Lin Siyu said calmly.
“Siyu, if you’re not in a hurry, let’s have lunch!” Han Ruofei said eagerly.
Zhang Xiaofan was speechless; who asks someone to eat so early in the morning? His flirting skills were abysmal.
“No, I’ve already had breakfast,” Lin Siyu replied coolly, then turned to the assistant, “I’ll take this outfit. Please charge my card.”
Han Ruofei finally noticed Zhang Xiaofan, wearing the same outfit as himself, and felt instantly annoyed. He’d always thought he was the most handsome, as if the outfit had been tailored for him.
But now someone wore it even better!
Moreover, Lin Siyu seemed to have a close relationship with this young man. Han Ruofei’s anger flared—after being ignored, he saw Lin Siyu buying clothes with this guy.
