Chapter 117: Journey to Kyoto
Tang Fei’s heart burned fiercely; this was exactly the kind of brother he yearned for.
After a moment’s pause, Tang Fei dropped to one knee with a single, resolute motion and said, “If I’m not worthy to be your brother now, then please accept me as your disciple!”
At that moment, everyone was stunned. Tang Fei was behaving just like Mu Han had last time—after the competition, immediately seeking to become a disciple.
Especially those young masters from the capital, each was utterly shocked, staring incredulously at Tang Fei. The young master of the Tang family, kneeling to become someone’s disciple? Was this the same arrogant Tang Fei they all knew?
In truth, none of them understood Tang Fei’s inner world. Though he possessed everything one could desire, his soul was hollow. There was one thing money could never buy: brotherly loyalty.
Tang Fei had been deeply moved by Zhang Xiaofan’s aura. In his mind, by first becoming his disciple, he would one day have the chance to truly become Zhang Xiaofan’s brother.
Beside him, Lin Siyu was equally astonished by Tang Fei’s gesture.
The Tang family of the capital was a powerhouse—its patriarch possessed immense influence. Even her own grandfather treated him with profound respect.
Now, his grandson was kneeling before Zhang Xiaofan. If news of this reached the Tang family, who knew what a sensation it would cause…
“Rise,” Zhang Xiaofan said calmly, though his heart was anything but still. The young master Tang’s credentials were indeed formidable—yet here he was, kneeling before him.
“If you accept me as your disciple, I will not rise,” Tang Fei replied with solemnity.
“Very well. I will accept you as a registered disciple, but I will not teach you my driving skills, because no one here can learn them,” Zhang Xiaofan said, echoing the same words he had told Mu Han not long ago.
But to Tang Fei, whether he learned the driving skills was irrelevant. What mattered was befriending Zhang Xiaofan—even if it was as a mere disciple.
Zhang Xiaofan possessed a deadly charm for women, and yet carried the aura of an emperor, a consequence of cultivating the Nine Heavens True Dragon Technique.
Combined with his extraordinary driving skills, his domineering speech, and the innate majesty that radiated from him, Tang Fei, the young master, was deeply captivated.
Rising, Tang Fei handed the car keys back to Zhang Xiaofan. “Master, please accept this car.”
Zhang Xiaofan did not refuse. Taking the keys, he approached Lin Siyu and said, “Wife, this car is for you.”
Lin Siyu smiled. She truly loved cars—that was why she had purchased the limited edition Lamborghini Venom. Even if it sat unused in the garage for long periods, just seeing it every day lifted her spirits.
“Master, how about we go have a few drinks?” Tang Fei asked eagerly.
“No, I’m going back with my wife,” Zhang Xiaofan replied.
“Alright then…” Tang Fei was a little disappointed, then pulled out his contact information and handed it to Zhang Xiaofan. “I’ll be returning to the capital early tomorrow. If you ever come there, be sure to call me.”
“Heh, definitely,” Zhang Xiaofan smiled.
…
At the Mountain Water Residence, in Lin Siyu’s villa, though Zhang Xiaofan had just fought a fierce battle with Chen Yuanyuan, he was still as fierce as a tiger, leaving Lin Siyu pleading for mercy.
“Wife, didn’t you say it wasn’t thrilling without racing? No mercy then,” Zhang Xiaofan chuckled.
“You scoundrel… I was wrong…” Lin Siyu coquettishly replied. Only before Zhang Xiaofan did she reveal such a tender, girlish side.
“Siyu…” Suddenly Zhang Xiaofan’s voice faltered slightly.
“Are you leaving?” Lin Siyu asked, a hint of sorrow in her tone.
Zhang Xiaofan nodded. “I plan to leave tomorrow.”
“Then let’s have two more rounds…” Lin Siyu blushed but said no more, knowing only to cherish this night.
“All right, two more rounds—no mercy,” Zhang Xiaofan smiled.
Then, once again, a tempest of passion swept over them…
Early the next morning, Zhang Xiaofan rose and kissed Lin Siyu on the forehead. He knew she was awake—or rather, hadn’t slept all night.
He also knew she pretended to be asleep to avoid speaking of their impending separation.
“Don’t worry, once my business is done, I will come back,” he whispered—a promise to her.
Coming downstairs, he immediately got into the Hummer and set off for the capital on the expressway.
This trip was not only to acquire the Yin-Yang Fish Stone but more importantly, to cleanse his shame.
Qin Tianyu was like an immovable mountain; Zhang Xiaofan vowed to flatten it.
…
At 9 a.m., Zhang Xiaofan called Chen Yuanyuan to inform her of his plans. Though she said little, her voice betrayed a reluctant farewell.
From Jinghai to the capital was over five hundred kilometers. Zhang Xiaofan did not speed recklessly, maintaining a steady 120 kilometers per hour.
He had left at seven in the morning and reached the capital’s ring expressway around one in the afternoon.
Just as he entered the city, his phone rang—it was Du Yuefeng.
Zhang Xiaofan was not surprised; the Dragon Soul carried such influence.
“Kid, you come to the capital without even telling me?” Du Yuefeng grumbled.
“Heh, I just arrived this morning, didn’t get the chance,” Zhang Xiaofan replied with a smile.
“Kid, you’ve stirred up quite a storm. You killed Long Hao. If not for the elders pleading for you, you’d have been expelled from Dragon Soul,” Du Yuefeng said.
“He asked for it,” Zhang Xiaofan said coldly.
“True. He hadn’t officially joined Dragon Soul yet and dared to kill you—he deserved it. But this time, Qin Tianyu is stirring trouble. Are you here to take revenge?” Du Yuefeng asked.
“Of course, but not yet,” Zhang Xiaofan answered.
“Hey… He’s from the Dragon Soul Hall. Even I have to show him respect. Watch your step,” Du Yuefeng warned reluctantly.
“All right, old man, I have to go. Something’s up,” Zhang Xiaofan abruptly ended the call, then glanced at several cars passing by.
Good heavens, all Ferraris.
A red Mercedes was trapped in the middle, hemmed in by Ferraris, struggling to escape.
From the corner of his eye, Zhang Xiaofan saw the red Mercedes carried a beautiful woman, clearly being harassed by a few wealthy second-generation playboys.
Just arriving in the capital and already encountering this—Zhang Xiaofan sighed inwardly. But who could resist standing up for justice?
After securing his phone, he swiftly shifted gears and chased after them.
Inside the red Mercedes, Xia Shihan was furious. She had just returned from abroad and already was being ogled by these rich young masters who had been leering at her since entering the expressway, spewing vulgar insults.
“Hey, little girl, your driving skills aren’t bad,” a silver-haired man in a nearby Ferrari shouted to her. “Come, big brother will play with you.”
“Get lost!” Xia Shihan snapped, rarely losing her temper or cursing, but now she was truly enraged.
“Oh ho, feisty little thing. I like that,” the man in the Ferrari said, blowing her a mocking kiss.
“Pervert!” Xia Shihan was outraged.
“Haha, Wang Hao, you’re disgusting,” another man in a Ferrari laughed.
Suddenly, a sleek black car flashed by like lightning, cutting sharply between Xia Shihan’s Mercedes and the Ferrari, nearly brushing both.
Wang Hao was startled, swerving sharply.
“Damn, what kind of driving is that?” Wang Hao cursed loudly.
“This is how I drive. What’s the matter?” Zhang Xiaofan replied innocently.
“I think you’re looking for trouble!” Wang Hao yelled while driving.
“Yeah, I am deliberately looking for trouble. Got a problem with that?” Zhang Xiaofan said coolly. He had seen too many arrogant rich kids like this.
“Damn it, guys, get him!” Wang Hao lost his temper. This guy was ruining his chances with the girl and acting all high and mighty.
He then drove his Ferrari aggressively toward Zhang Xiaofan’s Hummer.
“Miss, slow down. I’ll handle these fools,” Zhang Xiaofan gave Xia Shihan what he thought was a charming smile, then slammed on the accelerator. The Hummer roared forward.
