Chapter Sixty-Six: The Frogmen Camp [A Crucial Week! Please Keep Following!]
The night passed swiftly. Early in the morning, after Lu Sheng had finished washing up, a little girl emerged from the house opposite his, which belonged to Wang Xian. She carried a basket in her hand.
Lu Sheng looked at the girl approaching him with some confusion—wasn’t this the same girl who had brought him flowers before?
She stopped in front of him, saying, “Big brother, Wang Xian asked me to bring you these vegetables. There’s green radish, milk cabbage, and big green leaves.”
Before Lu Sheng could speak, she continued, “Big brother, you must accept these! It’s a thank-you gift from Wang Xian and me.”
“Alright,” Lu Sheng replied with a smile, taking the vegetables and gently patting her head. “But it would be best if you ask Wang Xian whether she has any seeds, and if she could spare some for me.”
The girl puffed her cheeks in mock anger. “Big brother, you’re so mean! I’m already fifteen, and you still pat my head. If I don’t grow tall, I’ll blame you!”
Lu Sheng stared at her in disbelief. She couldn’t be taller than one meter forty, still had the softness of childhood in her cheeks, and her chest was so flat she could almost take flight.
“You’re really fifteen?”
Li Nuannuan felt the skepticism in Lu Sheng’s gaze—especially since it was aimed directly at her chest! Instantly, she stamped her foot. “Big brother, you’re so bad! I just haven’t developed yet... give me a couple of years, and... and... I’ll be bigger!”
“Hmph!”
Li Nuannuan grabbed the vegetable basket and dashed away.
Lu Sheng rubbed the back of his head, feeling thoroughly embarrassed. Why was she at Wang Xian’s place, calling her sister? Wang Xian’s original identity wasn’t even tied to this settlement. And fifteen should be more mature, shouldn’t it?
...
Li Nuannuan returned to Wang Xian’s home, her cheeks still flushed with embarrassment.
Wang Xian, who was grooming herself, glanced at her and asked, “You’re back. Was he satisfied?”
“I think so. He wants some vegetable seeds,” Li Nuannuan replied, glancing at the unwrapped fullness of Wang Xian’s chest. Hesitating, she added, “Um... Sister Wang Xian, do you have any tips for... enhancing the bust?”
Wang Xian: ???
...
At noon, a team rushed back to the settlement to report some significant findings to Li Kuang.
Soon after, Li Kuang arrived at Lu Sheng’s residence.
“You mean you found a frogman encampment upstream of the river, and the camp has a spirit fruit tree? The tree is still laden with fruit?”
“Yes, sir.”
Lu Sheng clapped his hands. “Excellent. Gather some men and come with me. Let’s prepare to clear out the frogmen and collect the spoils.”
Li Kuang nodded excitedly. “Understood.”
He quickly selected a hundred men, and together with Lu Sheng, departed the settlement.
...
According to the information brought back by the scouts, this frogman encampment was likely the lair of the group that had surrounded them yesterday. There were still around three or four hundred frogmen left inside—just the right time for an assault.
Following the river, they hurried onward. Before long, a camp full of earthen mounds and caves appeared before them. Hundreds of frogmen scurried about—some patrolled with weapons, others tended to newborns.
At the center stood a spirit fruit tree. Its fruits were the size of fists, blue in color, with rippling surfaces—the higher up the tree, the finer the fruit appeared.
That spirit fruit tree was a treasure. Lu Sheng wondered if he could transplant it into his own sub-dimensional space for cultivation.
He summoned the giant crocodile, the stone-throwing goblin, the bristled tusk boar, and the wind-fire twin-headed serpent. These three enormous beasts charged the frogman camp!
The stone-throwing goblin attacked from a distance.
When the twin-headed serpent appeared, Li Kuang and his men were stunned. Wasn’t this the same serpent that had been slain yesterday? How had it become Lu Sheng’s summoned creature?
In that moment, Lu Sheng’s presence took on an enigmatic aura in their minds.
As for how he accomplished this, Li Kuang and the others neither asked nor dared to. The world had changed—special abilities were practically commonplace now. Knowing too many secrets was dangerous; those who knew too much rarely lived long.
The wind-fire twin-headed serpent aimed at the frogman encampment, both heads gathering energy simultaneously.
[Flame Tornado!]
The attack crashed into the camp, killing and injuring a swath of frogmen before they could even react.
The giant crocodile and the tusk boar rampaged through the encampment.
When one possesses absolute power, there’s no need for elaborate technique—just overwhelming force!
After the twin-headed serpent unleashed its Flame Tornado, it resorted to spewing wind tornadoes and fireballs, abstaining from fusion attacks. Even so, the serpent caused the most devastation.
The frogmen soon recovered, dispatching eight early-third-rank frogmen and two late-third-rank frogmen to besiege the crocodile and the boar. None dared approach the twin-headed serpent, apparently recognizing its might.
Even among third-rank creatures, there were differences in combat prowess depending on species.
Frogmen excelled in agility; in direct confrontation, they were no match for the crocodile and the boar. Yet they made full use of their nimbleness, encircling and attacking with their spears. Whenever the crocodile or boar struck, the agile frogmen dodged with ease.
In no time, the massive, fierce-looking crocodile and boar were riddled with wounds.
...
These summoned beasts had overly simplistic attack methods, and their quality was limited. Gaining an absolute advantage among peers was still a challenge. They could bully the weak, but against equals, it was another matter.
Lu Sheng flashed to their side. “Crocodile, Boar, you two go handle those second-rank frogmen.”
The crocodile slunk off without hesitation, and the boar grunted in protest but followed suit—wise pigs know when to retreat!
Lu Sheng drew a frogman spear, gripping it one-handed. “Agility? Let’s see just how agile you are!”
[Spatial Shift!]
Swoosh!—
In the blink of an eye, Lu Sheng appeared before a third-rank frogman and swung his spear with full force.
Bang!—
The frogman had no time to react—it was shattered instantly!
Lu Sheng hoisted his spear casually. “Not agile enough, it seems.”
Before absolute strength, all technique is futile. If skill is effective, it only means power isn’t yet absolute.
The third-rank frogmen roared in fury, brandishing their spears as they charged Lu Sheng!
Thrust!—
Slash!—
Smash!—
Sweep!—
Their attacks formed an iron net, sealing off all Lu Sheng’s avenues of retreat.
A smile curved Lu Sheng’s lips. “Impressive, but... can’t stop me.”
“Spatial Shift!”
Swish!—
The frogmen’s eyes widened—where had the human in their midst gone?
By now, Lu Sheng stood behind a frogman, swinging his spear in reverse. Three tightly grouped frogmen exploded in an instant!
Bang!—
Blood and flesh separated as simply as that.
A card appeared from the body of the slain frogman, and two source pearls manifested atop the other two corpses.
