With Lu Sheng joining the fray, the dynamics of the entire battlefield shifted instantly.

The Frost Werewolves, who had previously held the upper hand, plunged into complete panic.

Facing the more than one hundred and fifty Tier 6 monsters summoned by Lu Sheng, they knew they stood no chance of winning whatsoever.

Besides Lu Sheng’s forces, the humans they had been surrounding and annihilating were also a formidable force that could not be ignored.

The Frost Werewolves' leader cursed inwardly, "Break through! Do not entangle yourselves with these people here!"

Realizing that continuing the fight was futile and that staying would only mean death, he led his forces in a chosen direction to break through the encirclement.

However, Lu Sheng and the besieged humans had no intention of letting these monsters go.

They immediately launched a full-scale assault.

Various area-of-effect skills were unleashed, bombarding the Frost Werewolves.

The Frost Werewolves naturally retaliated using their icy powers.

Yet, faced with such a disparity in numbers, their counterattacks yielded poor results.

When the two sides' attacks collided, the power wielded by the Frost Werewolves was smashed to pieces.

Lu Sheng readily grasped the intentions of the Frost Werewolves.

Instead of engaging in combat, they intended to flee outright.

Such decisiveness compelled Lu Sheng's admiration.

Even so, what of it?

Lu Sheng would not allow them to escape.

He commanded the Earth-Control Beetles to raise the surrounding earth.

Under the control of the beetles, the ground gradually rose, towering higher and higher.

Everyone was enveloped within the enclosure, which consumed a massive amount of the Earth-Control Beetles' energy.

This directly depleted the beetles of their combat capability.

Lu Sheng remained unbothered, as the Earth-Control Beetles were never particularly formidable in direct front-line combat anyway.

They were, however, quite adept at altering terrain.

This spectacle caused the Frost Werewolves to completely abandon any thoughts of escape.

Before they could even break through the initial perimeter, yet another layer of enclosure had materialized outside.

The Frost Werewolves' leader understood that his only chance at survival lay in killing the people before him.

Without hesitation, he let out a roar, and all the Frost Werewolves sounded the horn of counterattack.

The ground was blanketed in icy energy, and white frost was visible even in the air.

This force froze everything in its path; any object touched by the freezing aura was turned into an ice sculpture.

Even the soil was covered in a thick layer of ice.

Yet, this power met with resistance as well.

Compared to the unified Frost Werewolves, the Law powers wielded by the crowd appeared somewhat chaotic.

The Frost Werewolves exclusively possessed ice-attribute powers, which easily fused together when gathered, forming an even stronger force.

In contrast, the humans possessed diverse and differing powers, making them appear somewhat disorganized.

Their abilities could not merge into a singular, more potent force.

Fortunately, although their powers were chaotic, their sheer numbers made up for it.

Quantity naturally triggered a qualitative change.

Overall, the collective power of the humans still held the upper hand.

Moreover, this did not represent everyone's full strength.

Some individuals had comprehended Law powers unsuited for long-range combat, so they had held back during the ranged exchange.

By now, these melee combatants were already charging fiercely toward the Frost Werewolves.

The ice-attribute powers unleashed by the Frost Werewolves were steadily beaten back during the exchange, suppressed within moments.

At this point, the monsters summoned by Lu Sheng were the first to clash directly with the Frost Werewolves.

To Lu Sheng, these were nothing less than walking Law stones; how could he possibly not care?

Mantises, Orc-boars, Flame Bear-wolves, Sword-legged Spiders...

While Lu Sheng's monsters were capable of both ranged and close combat, they excelled primarily in melee.

Thus, as they contested the opposing Law powers, these monsters steadily closed the distance to the Frost Werewolves.

Now had arrived the time for close-quarters combat.

The Frost Werewolves formed blades of ice in their hands, crystal-clear and gleaming like precious gems.

Instantly, the monsters and the werewolves plunged into a brutal melee.

Seeing this, the humans not far away also brandished their weapons and charged forward.

When it came to close combat, they were never the ones to suffer a disadvantage.

The moment blades crossed, the Frost Werewolves began to show signs of defeat, driven steadily backward by the joint forces of the humans and Lu Sheng's summoned beasts.

After all, with the enemy outnumbering them by more than two to one, their fate had been sealed the moment they were surrounded.

The Frost Werewolves' leader found himself besieged by three Tier 7 Orc-boars.

Try as he might, he had no way of escaping.

Among the surrounded humans, the two Tier 7 powerhouses did not join the fight against the leader; instead, they plunged into the chaotic melee of Tier 6 combatants.

Whenever they spotted someone in danger, they would step in to assist.

Despite the numerical advantage, this was still a battle among peers of the same tier.

If they simply engaged in a reckless, head-on brawl, even a victory would exact a heavy toll in casualties.

The two Tier 7 powerhouses had foreseen this, which was why they refrained from joining the encirclement of the Tier 7 Frost Wolf leader.

Furthermore, in their estimation, three Tier 7 Orc-boars were more than enough to handle a single Frost Werewolf; their intervention was entirely unnecessary.

The Frost Werewolf leader continuously formed pillars of ice, stabbing viciously at the Orc-boars.

The Orc-boars entered battle without even a hint of probing.

They directly activated their bloodlines, transforming into muscular berserker boars.

Meeting the Frost Werewolf's attacks head-on, they shattered them completely.

A chill ran through the Frost Werewolf's heart—did these brutes go all out right from the start without even testing the waters?

This completely disregarded the proper rules of combat...

Had the Orc-boars known the leader's thoughts, they would have merely sneered twice.

Back then, their master hadn't followed any rules either when he hammered them into submission.

The battlefield was fiercely chaotic, but thanks to the two Tier 7 experts darting back and forth to provide rescue, their side had suffered minimal casualties thus far.

Only a few unfortunate individuals with lacking strength and poor luck had lost their lives.

The Frost Werewolves dwindled in number, and soon the Tier 6 beasts were completely slaughtered.

The sole surviving Tier 7 Frost Wolf leader roared furiously, "Our Frost Werewolf clan will slaughter every last one of you sooner or later! Our Commander will kill you all!"

The crowd paid no heed whatsoever to the leader's ravings.

Such threats felt utterly powerless to them.

Their world and the monster world were locked in a life-or-death struggle; what impression could it possibly leave when an irreconcilable enemy vowed to destroy you?

They merely regarded the speaker as mentally deficient—when you are already sworn enemies to the death, why waste breath on nonsense?

The two Tier 7 humans joined the final encirclement as well.

The Frost Werewolf leader was already covered in wounds inflicted by the three Orc-boars.

At this stage, no matter how formidable his strength, he could no longer hold out.

Within moments, the Frost Werewolf was subdued, pierced through and killed by a fatal spear strike from the Orc-boar chieftain.

In truth, this was not a spontaneous outburst from the Orc-boar chieftain, but rather part of Lu Sheng’s prearranged plan.

A Tier 7 monster like this dropped valuable loot; how could he ever let someone else steal the kill?

Thus, Lu Sheng had instructed the Orc-boar chieftain to seize the exact right moment to finish off the Frost Werewolf leader.

The Frost Werewolf was officially declared dead.

Lu Sheng slowly walked in from the outer perimeter.

Chen Han and Liu Zhong cupped their fists toward Lu Sheng and said, "Many thanks, Milord, for stepping in to save us."

"A minor matter," Lu Sheng waved a hand dismissively, entirely unfazed. "Everyone, gather the spoils of war for me."

He walked up to the corpse of the Frost Werewolf leader and collected the Law stone.

Simultaneously, he instructed his subordinates to gather the Law stones dropped by the rest of the Frost Werewolves and bring them to him.

The onlookers nearby could not help frowning at the sight.

Some of those Law stones ought to have counted as their own spoils of war.

Yet, recalling that Lu Sheng was their savior, they found themselves unable to voice any complaints.

Even the two Tier 7 powerhouses, Chen Han and Liu Zhong, remained silent.

Outwardly, their expressions showed no trace of emotion.

Yet how could Lu Sheng be unaware of what they were thinking?

Accepting the Law stones brought by his subordinates, he picked out twenty-three of them and tossed them directly into the hands of Chen Han and Liu Zhong.

"These are yours. I am not a man who likes to take advantage of others."

Chen Han forced a smile and said, "What are you saying, Milord? You saved our very lives; what are a few Law stones compared to that?"

Lu Sheng chuckled and stated flatly, "Enough, if I tell you to take them, take them. Spare me the nonsense."

Chen Han beamed as he caught them. "Then many thanks, Milord."

The expressions of the surrounding crowd returned to normal, accompanied by a sudden pang of self-reproach—what had come over them just moments ago?

How could they have harbored resentment toward their savior?

They understood well enough that it was merely their inner greed acting up.

Falling into an even deeper silence, they reflected on how the single word *greed* truly ruined lives.

Before the allure of resources, even the greatest of debts in gratitude failed to suppress human avarice.

The fact that all these Law stones were attribute-less struck Lu Sheng as rather peculiar.

Up until now, he still had no inkling whether Law stones followed any rules regarding attributes.

Initially, he had assumed they corresponded to the specific Laws comprehended within the monsters' bodies.

Now, it appeared that was not the case.

Having cleared the battlefield, Lu Sheng recalled his subordinates and proceeded toward his next destination.

Chen Han, Liu Zhong, and the others remained rooted to the spot, simply watching Lu Sheng depart.

Not even the simplest parting words had been exchanged between them and Lu Sheng.

Originally, Chen Han had intended to express his heartfelt gratitude after Lu Sheng finished clearing the battlefield.

To his surprise, Lu Sheng had simply left.

His departure had been so abrupt as to catch them entirely off guard.

Liu Zhong gazed with a frown in the direction Lu Sheng had vanished, unable to suppress a low murmur, "Just like that?"

Chen Han let out a long breath. "He's gone, so be it. We should get back and clean up the mess ourselves."

"Sigh, who knows where these Frost Werewolves crawled out from? So immensely powerful that they obliterated our entire main city, let alone hunting us down."

"Let's go. Right now, Flying Flower City is in ruins, and heaven knows how many people died."

Hearing Chen Han's words, Liu Zhong could only shake his head and sigh.

That sigh was born of lament for the chaotic, lawless state of the current era.

Liu Zhong cast one last glance toward the path Lu Sheng had taken. "Tell me, when will order ever be re-established on our planet?"

Chen Han smiled bitterly. "Surviving is hard enough as it is. You're dreaming if you think about restoring order."

Liu Zhong argued back, "You can't say that. In ancient times, our ancestors fought their way up from among the various races to become the masters of this world. Why can't we fight our way out from among multiple worlds and become masters of them all?"

Chen Han offered a dry laugh. "Your ideals are certainly lofty. Even if it's possible, I doubt it's a sight we'll ever live to see."
