Chapter 103: Crushing Victory!
The attribute panel of the Flame Werewolf obtained by Lu Sheng after killing it was as follows:
Quality: Green
Tier: Early Fifth Tier
Skills: Fireball, Flame Body Infusion (Passive)
Evolution Requirement: One Blue-Quality Crimson Fire Fruit
Fireball: Condense the power within the body and hurl a fireball. Charging time: three seconds.
Flame Body Infusion: Flames cling to the wolf claws, adding a burning effect to every attack.
This was the card attribute Lu Sheng gained after slaying the Flame Werewolf.
Its quality and tier were exactly as he had expected.
Aside from the Fifth Tier, a great many Fourth Tier werewolves had also fallen to Lu Sheng’s hand.
By now, only the Giant Crocodile and the Desert Giant were still killing enemies for him.
But these two monsters were also his strongest fighters, so even if only they remained, it was not much of a problem.
This time, Lu Sheng directly had the Desert Giant condense a sandstorm for twenty seconds.
Once hurled out, the sandstorm spread in an instant, sweeping across an area of over a hundred meters.
The Flame Werewolf at the center was sent flying at once; those near the center were no exception, while only those at the edge struggled desperately to hold on.
Any werewolf drawn into the sandstorm had only death ahead of it. Unlike a sandstorm condensed for only five seconds, this twenty-second version could manipulate the sand to seal the Flame Werewolves’ breathing, leaving them to collide and thrash until they suffocated to death.
This was the crushing dominance of a Blue-Quality Desert Giant over these Flame Werewolves.
Under the indiscriminate assault of the sandstorm, some people were also cursing loudly as they hurried to retreat.
Though the fully charged sandstorm was immensely powerful, its consumption was equally tremendous.
Even a Desert Giant at full strength could only unleash it twice; after two blasts, the energy within it would be completely drained.
So Lu Sheng did not have the Desert Giant fire off another one. Instead, he sent it forward to fight in close combat and kept one charge in reserve.
Even the Green-Quality Giant Crocodile, relying on its massive body, rampaged unhindered through the Flame Werewolves.
Sometimes, size really did matter.
Of course, that was not to say that smaller creatures were useless; each had its own strengths.
As more and more people joined the encirclement, the Flame Werewolves died ever faster.
The emergence of this Fifth-Tier Spirit Fruit instance had undoubtedly drawn in everyone nearby with a bit of strength.
Otherwise, there would not have been such a crowd gathered here.
Some people also noticed Lu Sheng’s existence.
“Who is that? How does he have so many Fifth-Tier monsters as subordinates?”
“What have you been doing these past two days? Haven’t you heard? White-Horse Lu Sheng, the monster leader, showed up.”
“What’s going on? Tell me about it...”
“There’s no time to explain now. We’ll talk when we get back.”
“Still, the monsters under Lu Sheng’s command seem a little different. That’s not what I was told...”
“Anyway, just don’t provoke that man.”
...
As more and more Flame Werewolves were slain, the wolf that seemed to be their leader soon could no longer hold back.
It charged straight toward Lu Sheng, whose combat power was the fiercest of all. Lu Sheng had commanded a vast number of monsters to slaughter the Flame Werewolves and had already torn open a gap in their defenses, so drawing the hatred of their leader was only natural.
Lu Sheng’s target was it all along. As long as the Flame Werewolf leader was not Sixth Tier, he did not believe that all the monsters under his command, swarming together, would fail to bring it down.
Just now, in a blind spot, Lu Sheng had taken advantage of the moment to have the Stone-Earth Bear shield him. Swapping between his true body and his clone twice had netted him a large number of Flame Werewolf cards.
At this point, he had twenty-three Fifth-Tier Flame Werewolf cards alone, and as many as sixty Fourth-Tier ones.
Lu Sheng ordered the Giant Crocodile and the Desert Giant to pull back a little. The aura of this Flame Werewolf was extremely fierce; it was not an ordinary Fifth-Tier Flame Werewolf.
Even with their enormous bodies, the Giant Crocodile and the Desert Giant might not necessarily beat it.
The Flame Werewolf stood over two meters tall, its entire body packed with explosive muscle. Every fiber moved in perfect rhythm as it charged at Lu Sheng with all its strength.
Lu Sheng sneered, waving a hand to summon all of his Fifth-Tier Flame Werewolves. He did not summon the Fourth-Tier ones; they would only be sent to their deaths.
Twenty-three Fifth-Tier Flame Werewolves rushed toward the Flame Werewolf leader.
Seeing its own kin charging at it, and sensing the aura of Lu Sheng’s control upon them, the leader let out an enraged howl.
In the next instant, the muscles all over its body shifted again, and its entire frame began to swell.
Its flesh bulged like clusters of tumors, and its body grew taller, reaching three meters. The power of flames spread across the Flame Werewolf leader’s arms.
Facing the incoming Fifth-Tier kind, it showed no mercy and struck with a single punch, blasting one of them away at once.
The battered Flame Werewolf flew dozens of meters before crashing to the ground, where it struggled endlessly but could not get back up.
Then the Flame Werewolf leader lashed out with a claw, once again tearing open another Fifth-Tier Flame Werewolf and nearly splitting its entire body in two.
Two fists may be no match for four hands, but that saying was clearly not fitting here.
Facing the encirclement, the Flame Werewolf leader showed no sign of being at a disadvantage; if anything, it seemed to be holding the upper hand.
Its movements were nimble and precise. It dealt with the surrounding attacks with ease, and not a single strike landed on its body.
Lu Sheng was stunned by the sight. Was the gap really this enormous?
Weren’t they all Fifth Tier?
Even a peak Fifth-Tier being should not be able to utterly dominate them to this extent...
This Flame Werewolf leader was absolutely Blue Quality.
And it had clearly used some kind of explosive skill. Once that burst ended, it would be his to carve up at will.
He did not believe such an explosive state could last forever; once it was over, it would inevitably fall into a weakened condition.
That would be his chance.
Of course, the prerequisite was that his subordinates could hold out until the Flame Werewolf leader’s burst was over.
Otherwise, he would be finished.
Have the injured Flame Werewolves kill themselves?
As long as the Flame Werewolf leader did not kill Lu Sheng’s summoned Flame Werewolves in a single blow, there would be no chance to finish them off.
And the Flame Werewolves would not deliberately finish off the wounded, either. They themselves were under siege, and would not bother with those Flame Werewolves that had lost the will to fight.
One way or another, the half-dead Flame Werewolves would end up back in Lu Sheng’s hands.
At this rate, though, it would not work. Judging by the Flame Werewolf leader’s current rate of killing, the Flame Werewolves he had summoned were not enough to keep up.
It seemed he would have to use the monster fusion card in his possession.
His eyes fell on the Stone-Earth Bear beside him, and it was an excellent fusion candidate.
The size difference was not great. The Stone-Earth Bear’s formidable defenses, combined with the Flame Werewolf’s offensive power, would make the fused monster both durable and deadly.
In that case, Lu Sheng refused to believe it still could not withstand the Flame Werewolf leader.
His demand was only to hold it off, not to defeat or kill it. As long as the fused monster could buy time, that would be enough.
Thinking this, Lu Sheng ordered one Fifth-Tier Flame Werewolf to withdraw and come to his side.
The Flame Werewolf, over two meters tall, stood beside Lu Sheng and towered over him by more than a head. Most of its body was covered in red fur, and the skin exposed outside was all lean, hard muscle.
Lu Sheng could not help wondering: with a physique this impressive, how had it still been so thoroughly bullied by the Flame Werewolf leader?
