"Is this magic? That's a bit over the top!" Jiang Liuying said with a hint of shock. The next moment, an even more bizarre sight appeared: several dark shadows were scuttling through the air at high speed! Yes, scuttling—the trajectory and movement were absolutely not that of flight. Although the monster moved so quickly that the video feed was somewhat blurred, everyone could still tell that it was definitely crawling!

"It's getting more and more twisted," Ye Zhiqiu said, rubbing his bald head. "How did they pull that off?" In his experience, if a creature couldn't fly, to walk on air would require extreme agility, allowing it to leap great distances by finding tiny points of leverage. Yet, the opponent didn't seem to be using any leverage; it was pure, unadulterated scuttling. Ye Zhiqiu felt it was absurd. After obtaining the royal bloodline of the Fireblade Clan, he had earned the right to study swordsmanship in the Holy Land. In the footage he had seen there, master swordsmen could walk on air if their internal energy reached a certain level, but that was a realm he and his current team could hardly dream of.

If the enemy possessed that level of strength, what was the point of even fighting? And as for the fighter jets being frozen in mid-air—what kind of mental power would that require? Ye Zhiqiu didn't even dare to contemplate it; it was just too much.

Xie Lin, standing to the side, shook his head and pointed at the screen. "Look closely... those jets aren't frozen in the air; they've been caught in a web!"

"Caught in a web?" Everyone hurried to look. Oh? Looking closely, he was right. Although somewhat transparent, there was a faint shimmer. Upon closer inspection, it was a massive web, and the monsters turned out to be spiders!

Crypt Fiends! Guo Lang bit his finger, his brow furrowed. "The fact that the opponent can create so many exotic creatures so quickly is surprising, but still acceptable. This world has been almost completely wiped out by them; they've nearly mastered the entire plane. The rewards from their deity must be substantial. Combined with the high level of technology in this world, the efficiency with which they could recruit researchers must be incredibly high. In three months, having seven or eight such creatures isn't impossible."

But what made him frown was the opponent's selectivity. Whether it was the fission creatures slaughtering the Northern Military Region, the skin-stealer replacing the commander of the Eastern Military Region, or these Crypt Fiends blocking the air strike, the strategy behind the creature types was incredibly precise. If Guo Lang, even as a reincarnator, were to choose undead units, he might not have done as well. Who exactly was this guy?

At first, Guo Lang didn't think the opponent was anyone significant. He had seen the two members Alice killed through his sniper scope, and they certainly weren't high-level players. In his previous life, to avoid offending big shots, he had memorized the faces of all Gold-ranked individuals who appeared in public—unless they were assassins or those who enjoyed playing the mystery—and he had no memory of those two.

Moreover, the opponent had arrived six months before him. Based on how those two fought Alice, their evolution rate was, frankly, mediocre. That was the only reason he and Ye Zhiqiu, who had just received their bloodlines, were able to kill them—even if it was through the underhanded method of long-range sniping. If the opponent had possessed high aptitude, like Cang Mingyue, six months of development would have likely seen Alice killed in a single encounter, leaving no room for him to take a shot later.

If the teammates were this useless, how strong could the Necromancer be? That was Guo Lang's initial thought. But judging by the performance over these past few days, he realized he had been completely wrong. Barring any accidents, this person would surely achieve something extraordinary. Guo Lang searched his memories for famous Necromancers from his past life to draw a comparison, but he had never seen this person before. Besides, it was difficult to judge someone's identity by style alone when their initial resources were limited.

"All ten jets are totaled!" Xie Lin shrugged. "This guy is truly not simple. I've learned that much today."

"Yeah," Guo Lang agreed, nodding. "Truly not simple."

Xie Lin took out his walkie-talkie. "Airborne troops, pull back one kilometer and begin airdrops. Infiltrate the enemy base from four directions. Prioritize stealth. Your firepower is far inferior to the land forces outside the city; you can no longer cause significant damage to the enemy. Your primary goal is to gather intelligence. Take hostages if necessary!"

"Understood!" the officer on the other side replied. "Beginning airdrop!"

"How many are in the airborne unit?" Guo Lang asked.

"Three hundred," Zhuo Er replied. "They are the best of the special forces. Each one is highly versatile; if you put them in any region, they'd be considered top-tier soldiers."

"I see," Guo Lang nodded, though he was skeptical. When the levels are different, the difference between 'excellent' and 'mediocre' is negligible. An ant and a strong ant—the effort required to crush them is the same.

"Report: We have reached the outer coordinates. The Emperor Plaza ahead is surrounded by a fleshy substance. It is enormous. We don't know if it's hostile. Should we open fire?"

Xie Lin looked at Guo Lang, as he wasn't well-versed in this area.

Guo Lang explained quickly, "That is a type of undead biological structure. It provides oxygen, surveillance, and biological system circulation, but it isn't aggressive. You can go straight in."

Xie Lin nodded and spoke into the radio: "Proceed directly inside. Do not use firepower. Once you enter the base, scatter into ten squads and push as deep as possible. Let us see as much of those monsters as you can!"

"Understood!"

Following Xie Lin's orders, the troops entered the plaza and split into ten squads to infiltrate.

Just before they reached the building, a monstrous screech erupted. A creature over five meters tall, clad in unknown protective gear, leaped out. Its strength was extraordinary, carving a deep crater into the ground; the soldiers standing in that spot were crushed into pulp instantly, while those nearby were sent flying.

"Open fire!" the officer roared. Most soldiers reacted well, stabilizing themselves and immediately opening fire with their submachine guns.

The sounds of bullets hitting flesh were rhythmic, but the creature grinned, seemingly unbothered. It grabbed a soldier and threw him; the soldier became a bloody mess upon impact.

Blood splattered everywhere. The scene was exceptionally violent.

"Muscle density is extremely high," Xie Lin said, adjusting his glasses, his judgment cool. "The submachine gun bullets aren't even breaking the skin. With its muscles tensed, its hardness and resilience are incredible. This monster is strong."

"It's mine," Ye Zhiqiu said, his expression cold as he watched the creature. He bared his teeth in a savage grin. "Having fun smashing things, are you?"

"Don't get tangled up with it!" Xie Lin said calmly. "Go around if you can. Have a portion of the force provide suppressing fire, while the rest continue the infiltration!"

"Understood!" The lead officer commanded, "Squads 2 and 3, keep the fire going! The rest of you, follow me into the building!"

There were three Emperor Towers. Although the Terror Factory was in the tallest one in the center, given the nature of the operation, the team split into three groups to infiltrate all three buildings.

"Squad 4 reporting: We’ve encountered the white soft-bodied monsters mentioned in the intelligence. There are many of them!"

Xie Lin took a look. "Nothing to be done about that. Firearms are ineffective against those things. Push forward as hard as you can. The deeper you get, the better."

The captain of the fourth squad stiffened. Even though he knew this was his purpose, he still felt an inexplicable sense of frustration when the moment actually came. He gave a bitter smile and roared, "Boys, don't stop the fire! Follow me and charge! Whoever dies the deepest inside is this mission's MVP! Charge for me!"

"Roar!" The soldiers behind him had bloodshot eyes, charging fearlessly toward the white monsters.

"It seems the civilian population has been evacuated..." Guo Lang judged the moment the fission creatures appeared. It was difficult to control the predatory nature of those creatures; if there were civilians nearby, they would easily be slaughtered by mistake.

"Indeed," Xie Lin nodded, then frowned as he looked at another screen. "Squad 10, watch above you!"

He had keenly noticed some unknown red substance dripping from above onto the shoulder of the Squad 10 captain.

The captain looked up, rifle raised, but there appeared to be nothing there but a pool of blood dripping down. Suddenly, his face bloated, turning deep red with veins bulging. The surrounding soldiers were shocked and backed away, only to watch as their leader suddenly exploded, turning into a pool of blood. Before the soldiers could react, the blood surged toward them like a living thing. Then, the second, the third... dozens of soldiers exploded one after another. The scene was haunting.

Finally, the blood pooled together to form a humanoid shape. It tilted its head, looking at the video transmitter held by a soldier. The bloody face leaned close to the screen, wearing a vivid, eerie grin. The sight was terrifying.

"This thing..." A strange light flashed in Xie Lin's eyes, and a smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "This is interesting."
