"What did you say? Quella is dead?" Ian stared at the disheveled Skinner with shock, who in turn lowered his head in shame.

A faint, imperceptible smile appeared on Ian's pale face. "So, it has finally emerged. Tell me the details, Delilah!"

"Yes!" The Skinner, Delilah, produced the combat recording she had transmitted from Quella.

-----------------------------------------

Several hours earlier:

"Such an annoying brat, but I don't have time to waste on you!" Facing Alice’s provocation, Delilah ultimately chose to remain cautious rather than engage. While the girl's superior genes made her crave the hunt—desiring to collect her skin—reason prevailed over her bloodthirsty instincts. This girl was strong; she had seen it with her own eyes that day when nearly a hundred armed special forces soldiers were wiped out in under ten seconds. The speed had been too fast for her own eyes to follow, and the girl had likely not even been using her full strength!

"Stop her, Quella!" After leaving this order, Delilah darted toward the excavated underground tunnel. Her speed was not slow—comparable to Guo Lang before he had completed his class advancement. It was the standard agility for a Bronze-tier professional, and with its unique biological functions, it was no less capable than a professional believer. Yet, this was merely a creature produced by the Terror Arsenal after only a few days of work.

"Running away?" A cold sneer appeared on Alice’s face as she pushed off the ground. Although nearly ten meters separated them, the distance meant nothing to her. She was confident she could sever the woman's head before she reached the tunnel, but one thing bothered her: Who was Quella? Was it those disgusting-looking tree roots?

Indeed, the next moment, a sudden shift occurred. Those fleshy tree roots lashed out at Alice like spikes. At such close range, their speed was little different from bullets. Alice’s pupils constricted, and she dodged with a sharp side-step. Her superb agility allowed her to change direction mid-sprint without the slightest hesitation. Delilah, who had been looking back, was terrified to see the girl completely unscathed by the sky-filling barrage of fleshy spikes.

It wasn't that she was entirely untouched; there was a faint scratch on Alice's cheek. Seeing this, a wave of ecstasy washed over Delilah. As she reached the tunnel entrance, she brushed her hand against the fleshy roots, and Alice clearly saw her take something from them.

What did she take? Alice narrowed her eyes. Was it blood? What did she need her blood for? For some reason, a thought immediately surfaced in Alice’s mind: she must never let her escape alive.

A flash of violet light erupted in her eyes, and a piercing sound of friction tore through the air. Before the fleshy roots could react, the main trunk was severed, and the spreading root system withered visibly to the naked eye.

Alice plunged her dagger into the roots and, moving with the speed of a sonic boom, sprinted like a phantom toward the underground tree body. The entire root structure was sliced in two. The massive tree of flesh and blood beneath the ground revealed an expression of agony, and immediately, countless surrounding root hairs lashed out at Alice in a sky-filling assault!

A strange light flickered in Alice’s violet eyes. Secret Technique: Precision Weakness!

As an assassin, one cannot waste a shred of limited explosive power. Their targets were never limited to human bodies; when facing other alien creatures in the universe, they had to ensure their explosive power could effectively deliver a lethal blow. High-end assassin legacies all possessed secret techniques to perceive the life core of their targets. As one of the top assassin lineages among the ten great races of the universe, the Dark Royal Assassin's technique was naturally even more precise.

Ignoring the barrage of spikes, Alice’s ghostly form flickered without obstruction until she stood before her target. A look of terror appeared on the blood tree's face. How could such a dense, wide-range attack fail to stop her for even a second? How did she reach her so unscathed? Did she skip through space?

But the next moment, the suspicion in its mind ceased, for its body had lost the capacity to think!

The massive blood tree had only managed to delay Alice for less than twenty seconds. As it collapsed with a roar, Alice looked at its weak point. There was a strange runic mark there. From a biological perspective, a weak point in such a location made no sense. Furthermore, after the creature died, Alice clearly felt an energy dissipate in the surroundings. What was it?

With the fall of the blood tree, Alice landed on the underground sewage, yet she did not sink into the water. Instead, she stood perfectly upright on the surface, much like in old martial arts films—defying all common sense.

Alice frowned deeply at the filthy underground water. She saw a woman’s skin nearby and easily identified it as belonging to the monster from before. The creature must have dived in and escaped, but why shed its skin? Alice gazed at the flow of the sewage. Judging by the tunnel, it led to a drainage outlet, and it was clear that a human-sized body could not pass through such a gap. In other words, the creature was not limited to just turning into a human?

She chose not to pursue. Who knew what else was lurking in the water? There were too many variables in such an environment, and besides... this sewage was disgusting; Alice certainly wasn't going in for a swim.

"Well... no choice then. Time to get out of here." Although the tunnel was dug deep, if the missile impact was too great, she might be buried alive. Having reached this conclusion, Alice began to head back out. She was certain the tunnel had been excavated, as the blood tree clearly lacked the ability to shrink its body like the woman; it could not have come from the sewer!

"Better hurry out, find Old Wick, and report that I'm safe. Though, acting on my own... I'll probably get a spanking again, won't I?" At the thought, Alice’s face turned sour.

----------------------

"Tsk, tsk!" Ian watched the recording of the battle, his face filled with wonder. "I found it incredible back then that a girl only a few years old could take down my two teammates like that. Although they were ambushed, it proved one thing: the girl's talent is far beyond her peers. But after watching this recording, I realize I still underestimated her. How long has it been? To grow to this extent? She has completely transcended the mundane. This isn't just 'far beyond her peers'; 'genius' is no longer a sufficient word—her talent is truly godlike!"

If his two teammates were still alive and had grown at a normal pace over these three months, even if they had successfully advanced their classes, Ian calculated they wouldn't have lasted three seconds against her. They weren't even on the same level!

"How did she do it?" Delilah asked, her face filled with horror. Fortunately, she had decided to retreat immediately rather than stay and watch; this was simply too terrifying!

"What are you referring to?"

"How did she dodge Hughes' attack? It was so dense. Does she have the ability to jump through space?"

"It wasn't that..." Ian shook his head. "She dodged it in the most ordinary way. With the smallest possible movements, she evaded every single spike that could have pierced her."

"How is that possible? Based on what? Nerve reflexes?" Delilah asked in disbelief.

"Qi!" Green light flickered in Ian's eyes. He had seen similar documents in the database. Generally, only melee classes reaching the Silver stage could grasp such a thing. That was why he said this girl possessed godlike talent!

Hearing this, Delilah lowered her head in silence, but a glimmer of excitement flashed in her eyes. She held a drop of blood in her hand that Quella had stolen from Alice. If... if her body could simulate those genes, could she not also possess such power?
