Chapter Seventy-Six: The Senior Brothers Looking On
This forging method came from the system’s manual of crafting techniques. It contained dozens of odds and ends, scattered and varied. If Chen Bo were to forge weapons, he could switch from one style to another at will, never repeating himself in the short term.
As time slowly passed, the outline of a weapon had already begun to take shape. Yet at this moment it remained entirely red-hot, with molten metal still streaming off it, so it was impossible to tell what he was forging.
Somehow, before anyone noticed, the forge chamber had filled with people. They were all Chen Bo’s senior brothers, and they had come for one reason only: to watch the excitement.
After all, Yu Shifei’s forging furnace was not something that opened easily. No one knew exactly what Chen Bo had done to make that witch bring out something so precious.
"Damn it, did anyone else notice? When did so many people appear in the forge chamber? Are they trying to take advantage of the situation and do something to the streamer?"
"Every one of them is a slab of muscle! Bronze skin, and those two biceps on each arm are bigger than steamed buns. With a lineup this outrageous, they are practically here to kill the streamer!"
"I’ve roughly counted them, and there are more than fifty! More than a dozen of them are already bearded and scruffy, so the youngest one must be at least twenty. A whole pack of sturdy young men. Their fighting power is definitely terrifying."
"What is there to fear? Our Fairy is right next to the streamer! With Fairy’s strength, dealing with a bunch of muscle heads is nothing more than a wave of the hand."
In the livestream, almost everyone had already mistaken Chen Bo’s senior brothers for his enemies. If those senior brothers found out, they would surely cry injustice. They had only come to watch the fun. Was it really fair to wrong them like this?
But there were still some sharp-eyed viewers who realized these people were not there to harm Chen Bo.
"The people above worrying needn’t be so alarmist. Didn’t you see that our Fairy hasn’t even looked at them directly? That means Fairy knows they have no hostile intent toward the streamer."
"Exactly. The people above were blind before. Didn’t you notice there was a dark human-shaped creature in that crowd? Doesn’t it look familiar? That’s right, I recognized him. He was the first flying man the streamer met when he first arrived here."
"That’s right. And look at the man in front—doesn’t he seem familiar too? He’s the senior brother who gave the streamer directions yesterday!"
"So that’s how it is. I knew they couldn’t be the streamer’s enemies. But why are they all huddled together like that? And why are they staring so fixedly at our Fairy? Damn it, believe me, I’ll gouge out your dog eyes!"
"Pfft, I think the person above is the truly blind one. They’re looking at the forging furnace, all right?"
"Wow! These big brothers have such great bodies! If you put them on Earth, they’d absolutely be top-tier bodybuilders."
"No, the person above is wrong. How can bodybuilders compare with them? Ninety percent of those bodybuilders got their muscles from gyms, and they have almost no real power. Their only merit is intimidation."
"Exactly. The people on the barren continent have strength packed into every muscle, while bodybuilders are nothing but dead muscle that only makes them less agile."
"Hahaha, I knew muscles weren’t all that great! I’d better stay a fat guy obediently. I’m a fat guy, and I’m proud."
"Forging with spiritual sense really is taxing on the mind."
Chen Bo let out a breath inwardly. A great deal of sweat had already beaded on his forehead, nearly soaking his face.
Looking at the weapon that was almost complete, he gritted his teeth and forced himself to continue. It was almost finished; he could not abandon it now.
For the quest! For the gold coins! For power! For spirit stones! For the beauties! For the glory of the realm! For the empire! For the unity of all peoples! For the path of righteousness! For helping the author pad the word count! For the tribe! Orcs are never slaves!
Eh? Something strange seems to have slipped in there.
No one knew how much time had passed. Chen Bo’s face had gone pale, as though he was already on the verge of collapse. But the weapon, too, was almost ready to be forged!
"Huh? Something doesn’t seem quite right!" A senior brother nearby, with a full beard, stroked his chin and murmured thoughtfully.
"Not right? What’s not right?"
"Have you noticed? This newborn forging technique seems utterly unheard of. It sounds unfamiliar, like something none of us has ever seen before."
"Uh, brother, do you have X-ray vision or something? You can actually see what’s happening inside the furnace! Quit kidding me. I’m not that easy to fool."
"Idiot! Who said to look with your eyes? Of course you can’t see that way!"
"If not with your eyes, then what the hell are you supposed to use? Spiritual sense? Come on, spiritual sense can only be used after reaching the Innate Realm, or with help from an innate expert."
"Can you stop being so thickheaded? Who told you to look? I told you to listen! Use your ears!"
At those words, everyone immediately fell silent and listened carefully. Though it was not music with lingering beauty, for a forging master, that sound was even more stirring than music!
"This, this, this..." Someone stammered the word over and over, yet could not manage a single complete sentence. Clearly, he had been so shocked that he had already lost the ability to speak coherently.
"My heavens! I, Old Wine, claim to be familiar with the forging methods of every major school. Even if I cannot use them, I can at least recognize them. But this new forging method has truly stumped me."
"No way! Even Old Wine cannot tell what this technique is? Could it be some forging method whose inheritance has already been lost, and which this boy acquired only by chance?"
"If that’s true, this newcomer is truly blessed with tremendous fortune! It seems we’ll have to get closer to him in the future and see if we can pick up some of his luck."
"I think you just want to trick him into revealing that forging method of his."
"Pah! Why are you spouting such obvious nonsense? Honestly!"
Just as they were about to argue, one person weakly said, "What if he created it himself?"
After a moment of silence, his friend sighed, patted his shoulder, and said, "Brother, you are the most innocent person I’ve ever seen at Sky Sun Academy. That innocence is not easy to come by. You must cherish it well."
"Agreed."
"Agreed."
"I think so too."
"Seems our thoughts are the same."
