“Brother Lu, we were forced to play in their place…”
“They won’t let us go!”
Lu Ye was taken aback—who would have thought such a brazen illegal den still existed on Ximen Island?
He got the address from Zhang Yunjie and, when checking out, casually asked the receptionist a question.
“Miss, do you know about the Lucky Fortune Casino?”
A flicker of surprise crossed the receptionist’s eyes, then she lowered her voice. “Sir, to be honest, that Lucky Fortune Casino is notorious for fleecing out-of-town tourists like you.”
“The owner is Zhu Jian, a local underworld boss with a terrible reputation. Any tourist tricked into entering that casino is sure to be skinned alive, and there’s nothing they can do but accept their fate.”
“Sir, please don’t mention this to anyone after you leave, and don’t tell anyone it was me who told you!”
Lu Ye nodded gently, “Thank you for the warning. I won’t say a word.”
“Good. I hope you enjoy your stay on Ximen Island.”
So it was clear—Zhu Jian was the so-called boss with his hands in every pocket on Ximen Island.
And for him to be so brazen right under the nose of the Hongying Society, there must be countless hidden ties between them.
Just compare him to Lin Zhongze, another underworld figure. Lin had always refused to bow to the Hongying Society; if not for meeting Lu Ye, his grave would be covered in grass by now…

As they walked side by side down Ximen Island’s lively streets, Su Qianqian asked in a whisper, “So, you little scoundrel, how do you plan to rescue them from Lucky Fortune?”
Lu Ye sighed, “That’s exactly what’s bothering me.”
Any attempt to fish someone out of Lucky Fortune would no doubt alert the Hongying Society.
He had just met with Luo Ying last night—this is the most sensitive time.
He let out another sigh and muttered, “Damn, what a bunch of useless teammates. I never should have brought them.”
Su Qianqian suggested, “Why not have our dashing friend barge in and snatch them out?”
Lu Ye shook his head repeatedly. “No way. After last night, everyone knows they’re with me. In the end, it’ll all come back to me!”
Su Qianqian thought for a moment, then suddenly snapped her fingers. “I have an idea!”
Lu Ye looked at her in surprise as she leaned in and whispered her plan in his ear…
“Hmm? That’s actually a great plan!”
“Say something nice about me!”
“My dear wife, you’re brilliant!”

Lucky Fortune Casino.
Zhang Yunjie and the others had been forced to gamble all night. Not only had they lost all the chips they cashed at Laili International, they were now saddled with an enormous debt.
Zhu Jian’s henchmen kept them pinned at the tables, refusing to let them leave.
It was almost one in the afternoon before Zhu Jian finally appeared at the casino and asked his men, “How much do they owe?”
“Boss, these five together owe us three hundred million.”
The group of pampered young heirs looked utterly spent, drained by the ordeal.
Zhu Jian, satisfied that they’d been softened up enough, flashed a wicked grin. “Gentlemen, do you want to go home?”
“Yes! We already owe three hundred million—please, let us go!”
Zhu Jian nodded. “No problem. You can leave as soon as you pay back what you owe.”

The young men exchanged confused glances—why hadn’t Lu Ye come to get them?
At that moment, Zhang Yunjie’s phone rang on the table. He reached for it, but Zhu Jian was quicker, snatching it up and answering the call himself.
“You’re his girlfriend?”
“Don’t worry, your boyfriend is fine.”
“He and some friends racked up a three hundred million debt here last night. Why don’t you bring the money and pay it off for them?”
“Alright, I’ll be waiting for you at Lucky Fortune Casino!”
Hanging up, Zhu Jian glanced enviously at Zhang Yunjie. “You’re lucky—your girlfriend’s a good one. The moment she heard you were in trouble, she said she’d bring the money to bail you out. She’ll be here soon.”
Zhang Yunjie was dumbfounded—girlfriend?
Since when did he have a girlfriend?
But on second thought, perhaps this was one of Lu Ye’s tricks behind the scenes.
Thank heavens, Young Master Zhang’s brain finally clicked into gear!
He quickly played along. “Yes, my girlfriend takes good care of me.”
Zhu Jian sneered but didn’t suspect anything.

Half an hour later, a lookout rushed in. “Boss, there’s a woman at the door asking to see her boyfriend.”
“Let her in.”
“Yes, sir!”
And then Zhang Yunjie was utterly stunned.
The woman pretending to be his girlfriend, here with the ransom, was none other than Lu Ye’s mysterious sworn sister!
“Yunjie, are you alright?”
“Yunjie, did they hurt you?”
“Why aren’t you saying anything? Are you hurt somewhere?”
Chen Xi’s performance was flawless. She threw herself at Zhang Yunjie, fussing over him with concern, making it clear to Zhu Jian that these two were a long-time couple.
Little did he know, Zhang Yunjie was under immense pressure.
For all her appearance of helpless anxiety, this woman was anything but soft when it came to a fight.
The image of Bai Jin being ruthlessly taken down by her at Lu Ye and Su Qianqian’s wedding still haunted him.
Squeezing out a smile even uglier than a sob, Zhang Yunjie replied, “I’m fine, really. Don’t worry about me.”

Just then, two figures were suddenly hurled through the casino door, landing at Zhu Jian’s feet.
Zhu Jian stood frozen in shock—someone actually dared to crash his place?
A moment later, a burly man stormed in, pointing at Chen Xi and Zhang Yunjie, shouting furiously.
“You shameless woman, you really are out here cheating on me!”
“This is your pretty-boy lover, isn’t it?”
“You bastard, get over here and take your beating!”
Without waiting for an explanation, Handsome Meng strode forward. Zhu Jian tried to intervene, but Handsome Meng shoved him aside without ceremony.
With a howl, Handsome Meng dragged Zhang Yunjie out by the ear and gave him a thorough beating outside the casino.
Zhu Jian was utterly bewildered. “What in the world is going on here?”

Lin Bei and Yang Tianyu stared at Chen Xi in astonishment. She glared back, “What are you looking at? Go save Yunjie! Do you want to see him beaten to death?”
“Oh! Right!”
They immediately caught on, dashing after her out of the casino, shouting as they went.
“Boss, don’t hit him!”
“Don’t blame us, it’s all because your lady’s too charming, boss!”
“Don’t kill him, boss!”
Zhu Jian stood there, lost, until one of his men reminded him, “Boss, they still haven’t paid their gambling debts!”
“Damn it, after them!”
Too late!
Zhang Yunjie was already running for his life, Handsome Meng chasing after him, fists flying.
The others trailed behind, trying to break up the fight but laughing all the while.
By the time Zhu Jian and his men gave chase, the group was already several hundred meters away, around the corner and out of sight.
Handsome Meng herded Zhang Yunjie and the others straight onto the ferry back to Pearl City.
When Zhu Jian finally reached the dock, the ferry was just pulling away from the pier.
From a distance, they could still see Handsome Meng pinning Zhang Yunjie to the deck, rubbing his head into the planks.
“Who the hell is that big oaf?”
“Damn it, he could’ve just caught them in the act. Now our cooked duck has flown away!”
Zhu Jian could only curse his rotten luck.
With the group gone and the other side being Lin Zhongze’s territory, there was no way to get them back.
Once off Ximen Island, Zhu Jian wasn’t worth a damn.
Well, nothing to do but accept it—sometimes fate deals you a bad hand.

Liu Yiyi remained on the Apostle, waiting. As soon as Lu Ye and Su Qianqian returned, they set sail for Pearl City.
Chen Xi and Handsome Meng reached the yacht dock ahead of them and waited on shore.
When the yacht finally pulled in, Chen Xi rushed up, grabbed Lu Ye by the head, and gave him a good thrashing.
“Hmph, you little rascal!”
“Making me play Zhang Yunjie’s idiot girlfriend—caught in the act, no less? Only you could come up with that!”
Lu Ye instantly surrendered, raising his hands in defeat and selling out his wife. “I protest! This was all Qianqian’s idea!”
Chen Xi paused and turned to Su Qianqian. “It was your idea, sister-in-law?”
Gulp.
Su Qianqian swallowed nervously and nodded meekly…
It’s over!
With Sister Chen’s punch, I just might die!
