"I know, my son-in-law’s grand ambition is to live a life of leisure supported by his wife. So what?" Su Shiming’s utterly nonchalant expression left Lin Bei dumbfounded. "So not only are you not against it, you actually support him?"

"Of course I do. Is there a problem with supporting my son-in-law?" Su Shiming’s tone was filled with confusion, as if he were saying that a father-in-law supporting his son-in-law was the most natural thing in the world.

The truth was, Su Shiming knew a bit about Lu Ye’s background. Years ago, while he was expanding his business through foreign trade in various Middle Eastern countries, war suddenly broke out. It was Lu Ye who, braving a hail of bullets, risked his life to rescue him and get him to safety.

With such a legendary son-in-law, did anyone really believe he’d stoop to being a kept man for money?

Luckily, Lu Ye wasn’t aware of what Su Shiming was thinking, otherwise he would have disappointed him greatly. The idea of being kept by a rich woman… Actually, he was all for it!

Fuming, Lin Bei shouted, "Then there’s nothing left to discuss. If you want your shares back, you’ll have to buy them from me at double the price."

"One billion!"

Su Shiming’s face darkened slightly; this was troublesome. No matter what conflicts he had with Su Shanglin and Su Zijun, at least the shares of the Su Group had always remained in family hands. But now, in their efforts to suppress him, Su Shanglin and Su Zijun had allowed Lin Bei, an outsider, to control half the group. Had they gone mad?

"Son-in-law, what should we do?"

Lu Ye remained calm, looking at Su Shanglin. "Old Mr. Su, since you and Lin Bei made this transaction without consulting my father-in-law, naturally the shares Lin Bei acquired are yours to deal with, not my father-in-law’s concern."

"Who you sell your shares to is none of my business. Just hand over my father-in-law’s half, as per the agreement, and I’ll let you off the hook."

Su Zijun sneered, "You? Let us go?"

"Don’t forget, this is the Su Group, not your Yi Ren Group. We have over fifty security guards here. Why would we need your mercy?"

"Because I have the skill."

Smack!

Lu Ye’s hand flashed out, slapping Su Zijun so hard he spun around on the spot two or three times like a top.

Su Zijun stared in disbelief. How dare this guy start a fight when he was outnumbered?

"I just got hit! What are you all standing around for? Get him! Beat him to death!"

Though the Su Group’s security guards were many, calling them useless was no exaggeration. Compared to the battle-hardened team at Yi Ren Group, they were nothing. They exchanged nervous glances before hesitantly surrounding Lu Ye.

Su Shiming swallowed. "Son-in-law, there are so many of them. Can you handle it?"

"Back in the Middle East, I rode a thousand miles alone, striking down enemies every ten steps, never lingering on the battlefield…"

"Enough, enough! I know you’ll be fine!"

With a devilish smile, Lu Ye charged into the crowd. He unleashed his signature “Eighteen Clothes-Grabbing Throws” to perfection, using minimal strength to send attackers flying several meters away. Some landed with bruised faces, others with broken limbs.

Even facing over fifty security guards at once, Lu Ye’s movements were completely unrestrained, his body flickering like a ghost, moving as effortlessly as a stroll in the park. The guards couldn’t even touch him.

"This guy’s skills are insane!"

"Our people can’t even lay a finger on him!"

"Are we just supposed to stand here and watch him beat us up?"

Before long, the cries of pain echoed throughout the Su Group’s first-floor lobby. Every one of the fifty-odd security guards lay sprawled across the floor, pretending to be dead, refusing to get up and take another beating.

Su Zijun trembled with rage, stammering, "Useless! A bunch of useless fools!"

"It seems yesterday’s lesson wasn’t enough. But today, for my father-in-law’s sake, I won’t be too harsh."

"Like I said, hand over my father-in-law’s shares and I’ll let bygones be bygones."

Su Shanglin and Su Zijun exchanged a glance, yesterday’s events playing out again in their minds. They’d thought Lu Ye was only arrogant because of Yi Ren Group’s formidable security team. They never expected his personal combat skills would be even more terrifying!

What choice did they have but to give in? Take another beating?

This man could beat the living to death and the dead back to life!

After a brief, hushed conversation, Su Zijun gritted his teeth and glared at Lu Ye. "Fine, you win. I’ll go upstairs and get the share transfer agreement!"

Lin Bei exclaimed in shock, "You can’t be serious! You’re just surrendering to him?"

Su Shanglin, still shaken, replied, "Young Master Lin, you have no idea how ruthless he is."

Lin Bei had never witnessed the power of Lu Ye’s Healing Fist. He thought, no matter how ruthless Lu Ye was, at most he’d beat them up a bit—was that really something to be so terrified about?

"Tch, so what if you’re good with your fists?"

"This is a society ruled by law! Lu Ye, acting so wildly—do you have no respect for the law?"

Lu Ye scoffed, "Then go ahead and call the police."

Lin Bei immediately pulled out his phone. "Fine, I will!"

But before he could dial 911, another call came in.

"Hello, Second Uncle?"

"What? My father’s in the ICU? When did this happen?"

"Which hospital? I’m coming right now!"

Apparently, Lin Bei’s father had suddenly fallen ill and been rushed to intensive care. With no time to waste arguing with Lu Ye, he dashed out of the Su Group and headed straight for Pearl City People’s Hospital.

...

With Lu Ye keeping watch, Su Zijun didn’t dare try anything and signed the share transfer agreement on the spot.

Once everything was confirmed, Lu Ye gave Su Zijun a hard kick, shouting, "Damn it, where’s my wife’s 1%?"

Su Zijun, on the verge of tears, replied, "It’s gone. The rest is all with Lin Bei."

"Fine, get lost. From today on, the Su Group’s name changes to ‘Su’!" Lu Ye said impatiently.

Su Shiming coughed lightly. "Son-in-law, the Su Group has always been named ‘Su’..."

"Oh, thanks for the reminder."

"No problem, we’re family after all."

With that, Su Shanglin and Su Zijun had lost everything and bid farewell to the Su Group for good.

Su Shanglin patted his son’s shoulder, comforting him. "Son, we still have over five hundred million. That’s enough for two or three generations to live in luxury."

Su Zijun’s expression suddenly turned cold and sinister. "We? That five hundred million is mine. What does it have to do with you?"

Su Shanglin was stunned. "How can you say something like that to me?"

Su Zijun sneered, "The only reason I reluctantly agreed to be your son was because you were willing to hand the Su Group over to me. Now that it’s gone, you still want me to call you ‘father’?"

Such rebellious words left Su Shanglin dizzy and reeling.

Lu Ye considered for a moment, then decided to offer Su Shanglin a friendly warning. "Old man, you know, your mistress wasn’t only involved with you. Su Zijun isn’t your real son."

Su Shanglin glared daggers at Lu Ye. "Don’t spout nonsense!"

Lu Ye shrugged, unconcerned. "If you don’t believe me, ask your precious son yourself."

"That’s right, I’m not your biological son!" With Su Shanglin now useless to him, Su Zijun tore off the mask and revealed the truth.

Clutching his heart, Su Shanglin gasped for breath, unable to accept it. "Then who is your real father?"

Su Zijun curled his lip. "No need for you to know."

Lu Ye chuckled nearby. "Isn’t it Zhang Boquan? Why hide it?"

Su Zijun stared in shock. "How do you know?"

"He told me himself," Lu Ye replied.

"Zhang Boquan? So it was him!" Su Shanglin’s eyes widened, then a bitter smile appeared on his face.

No wonder the Zhang family was always pushing me to put Su Zijun in charge. No wonder they tried every trick to force my granddaughter to marry Zhang Yunjie!

All along, their goal was to swallow up my Su Group!

In the end, Su Zijun left without looking back, taking the five hundred million with him and leaving nothing behind for Su Shanglin.

Leaning on his cane, Su Shanglin tottered out into the bustling street, his dim eyes devoid of life, clearly having lost all will to live…
