Chapter 137: He Chao Is a Disciple of the Mo Family
Su Qianqian reached the finish line at the foot of the mountain first.
It took three or four minutes before He Chao’s GTR finally crawled into view. However, He Chao had no intention of stopping; he drove straight toward the city center.
Su Qianqian and Lu Ye exchanged bewildered looks. "Is this another sore loser trying to welsh on a bet?"
"He's going to find out that taking advantage of me isn't so easy!"
Without a second thought, Su Qianqian slammed on the gas and gave chase. However, the straight suburban road at the foot of the mountain allowed the 1,000-horsepower GTR to perform at its peak, and for a moment, the LaFerrari could not close the distance.
He Chao glanced at his rearview mirror and scoffed, "Damn it, don't they know I'm a disciple of the Mo family? If you've got the guts, follow me all the way to the Mo estate! Hahaha!"
As it happened, He Chao was exactly that—a student of Mo Min, paying millions in tuition every year to learn the "Great Vajra Leg" style. Although he wasn't a member of a martial arts family by blood, his master was none other than the second master of the Mo family. It was only natural for a disciple in trouble to seek his master's help to settle the score.
Back at the top of the mountain, Chen Yu watched the two cars chase each other toward the city and slapped his thigh in frustration. "Oh, no!"
Wang Wenbin chuckled. "Our captain is a disciple of the Mo martial arts family. Judging by the direction, he’s heading straight to the Mo estate."
Chen Yu pulled out his phone to call Lu Ye while cursing, "You guys on the Blue Star racing team are truly shameless. You can't even handle losing?"
Wang Wenbin replied, "Heh, our captain didn't say he couldn't handle losing. Your master and his wife are welcome to follow him to the Mo estate to claim that GTR."
The call connected. Chen Yu immediately shouted, "Master! Don't follow him anymore! He Chao is trying to lure you to the Mo estate. That’s a martial arts family; we can't afford to provoke them!"
Lu Ye was taken aback. "What is He Chao's connection to the Mo family?"
"He's their disciple. His master is Second Master Mo."
What a coincidence. It seemed there was no avoiding the Mo family today; he would have to handle it personally after all.
"Fine, I understand."
He hung up and relayed the situation to Su Qianqian. Instead of backing down, Su Qianqian seemed to think the more trouble, the better.
Once they entered the city, the traffic became complex. He Chao could no longer accelerate in a straight line with impunity, so she accelerated and began to provoke him. The LaFerrari swerved around the GTR like a cat playing with a mouse. The message was clear: *I can overtake you whenever I want, but I’m doing this just to mess with you.*
He Chao looked at the rearview mirror, his lips curling into a cruel smile as he muttered to himself, "Stupid. If you had intercepted me earlier, I’d have nothing to say, but if you keep acting this cocky until we reach the Mo estate... heh, heh, heh."
The GTR sped through the city streets and, after a few turns, veered into the courtyard of the Mo villa. He Chao jumped out impatiently, waiting to see Lu Ye and Su Qianqian make fools of themselves. However, he was struck by the sight of a human-shaped imprint on the Mo family's main gate.
He grabbed a passing senior disciple and asked, "Senior brother, why is there a human-shaped hole in our master's gate?"
The disciple replied, "Someone came to challenge the dojo this afternoon and fought with Master and his brother."
He Chao was incredulous. "Who had the audacity to challenge the Mo family? Was that hole made by the challenger?"
The senior disciple paused and nodded.
He Chao had misunderstood. The hole was indeed left by the challenger, but the person who had been kicked through it was his master...
*Vroom! Vroom!*
The sleek, blue-and-white porcelain-patterned LaFerrari roared into the Mo courtyard, immediately drawing a crowd of disciples.
"Damn, that car is cool!"
"Whose car is that? What are they doing at the Mo estate?"
He Chao deliberately twisted the truth. "They’re trying to steal my GTR! I won this car yesterday, and they're sore losers."
His fellow disciples erupted in rage. Pointing at Lu Ye in the car, they shouted, "Hey kid, get out here and take a beating!"
Lu Ye told Su Qianqian to stay in the car, then stepped out and walked toward He Chao.
He Chao stood with his hands on his hips, smugly. "Kid, do you know where you are?"
Lu Ye chuckled. "This is the Mo estate, isn't it?"
He Chao was stunned. "Oh, you know? Since you know this is the Mo estate, why the hell did you dare to follow me here?"
*Slap!*
A loud, crisp sound echoed through the courtyard.
Lu Ye said calmly, "Watch your mouth."
Seeing this, He Chao’s fellow disciples began to roll up their sleeves, ready to teach Lu Ye a lesson. Lu Ye looked at them and sneered, "Whatever you're planning to do, I suggest you think carefully before you act. Do you have any idea what my relationship is with the person who came to challenge this dojo earlier?"
The entire courtyard fell silent!
Only He Chao continued to scream, "So you're in league with that idiot who challenged us? Perfect! I'll deal with you, too!"
He lunged and kicked toward Lu Ye.
*Crack!*
Lu Ye caught He Chao's ankle with a single hand and twisted it outward. A loud pop emanated from his joint.
"Aaargh!"
As He Chao’s fellow disciples rushed forward, a voice boomed, "Everyone, stop!"
Mo Min, sitting in a wheelchair, and Mo Cheng, leaning on a cane, emerged from the house.
Mo Cheng frowned and asked, "Sir, what is your relationship with the challenger from earlier?"
Lu Ye laughed. "How long has it been since the master of the Mo family was on the phone with me?"
Mo Cheng turned pale. "Are you Master Lu?"
"I wouldn't dare claim the title of 'Master,' especially since even Second Master Mo's disciple doesn't think much of me."
"What is going on?"
He Chao, still oblivious to the situation, dragged his broken leg to Mo Min’s feet and wailed, "Master, you have to stand up for me! This guy surnamed Lu broke my ankle!"
*Bang!*
Mo Min kicked him off the steps. The exertion aggravated his own injuries, causing him to cough up blood. Trembling with rage, he roared, "You unfilial wretch!"
"I don't care what you did! Get on your knees and apologize to Master Lu right now!"
After rolling down the steps, He Chao looked up in confusion. "Master, why should I kneel to this pretty boy? I pay over three million in tuition a year! Someone is bullying me on your doorstep, and you're helping him?"
Mo Min wanted nothing more than to kick this idiot to death. "Are you blind? Don't you see the injuries on me and your senior uncle?"
He Chao squinted and asked, "Wait, how did you get so hurt? Which bastard did this?"
The senior disciple from before pulled He Chao aside and whispered, "Didn't I tell you? Someone came to challenge the dojo earlier, and both Master and his brother were defeated!"
He Chao protested, "What does that have to do with me? If you won't stand up for me, fine, but why make me kneel to this pretty boy?"
Every time he said "pretty boy," Mo Cheng felt a cold shiver down his spine. There was no time to explain; he had to distance himself immediately.
"He Chao, you are expelled from this school!"
"Master Lu, do whatever you wish with this guy. He has nothing to do with us anymore."
He Chao was stunned. "Why? Why are you all so afraid of him?"
The senior disciple whispered, "The man who challenged the dojo this afternoon is the young master of the Wan martial arts family. He’s a seventh-rank expert, but he said he was just a lackey for the man standing in front of us."
"Holy..."
He Chao finally realized how much trouble he was in! He didn't need to know who the young master of the Wan family was; knowing that a seventh-rank expert was content to be this man’s lackey was enough to show how terrifying Lu Ye’s background was!
*Gulp.*
He Chao swallowed hard. "Master Lu, I'm sorry! I... I didn't mean to mess with you."
Lu Ye sighed. "Why did you have to make such a mess of things? Since you lost to my wife, you could have just handed over the keys as agreed and saved us all the trouble. You just had to court death and try to act tough, even when so many people tried to warn you."
Seeing the members of the Mo family glaring at him, He Chao dropped to his knees of his own accord.
*Thud! Thud! Thud!*
He bowed three times. "Master Lu, I was wrong! Please, spare me!"
Just then, the sound of engines roared from outside the courtyard, and a dozen supercars screeched to a halt.
"Master! I've brought men to save you!"
