Chapter 131: I Am Unrivaled at Welching on Debts
Wan Quan was momentarily stunned, completely unaware of the young man in a black Daoist robe sprinting toward him from the side of the ring.
In an instant, the man leaped onto the platform and kicked Wan Quan flying!
"You pathetic piece of trash from the Wan family, how dare you hurt my brother like this!" The sudden intruder bore a striking resemblance to Mo Chong.
Lu Ye glanced at Tan Songming in confusion. The latter said in a low voice, "He is Mo Chong’s younger brother, Mo Dong!"
Mo Chong, Mo Dong... Mo Chongdong? Their elders certainly had a unique way of naming their children.
Mo Dong had just returned home when he heard that his brother was fighting in the ring. He rushed over to join the spectacle, never expecting to arrive just in time to see his brother beaten to the point of vomiting blood. As the younger brother, he naturally felt compelled to step up and settle the score.
"Cough, cough, cough..." Wan Quan, caught off guard by the sneak attack, tumbled to the ground and coughed repeatedly.
Mo Dong sneered, "Not so tough now, are you? Get up and keep fighting me!"
Cai Yueyao stepped between them, knitting her brows in displeasure. "The outcome of this match has already been decided!" she rebuked. "Mo Dong, you are violating the rules!"
The crowd below chimed in as well.
"Miss Cai is right!"
"The match is over. What kind of behavior is it to sneak up and attack someone when they are unprepared?"
"If you can't afford to lose, you shouldn't have stepped into the ring in the first place."
"This kind of rule-breaking is an embarrassment to the martial arts families."
Mo Dong turned to the crowd and sneered, "You want to talk to me about rules? Only those with strong enough fists have the right to speak of rules!"
Just as Lu Ye was about to stop him, Wan Quan suddenly scrambled to his feet. He reset his Tiger Fist stance and shouted, "I'll fight you!"
Lu Ye covered his forehead and sighed with a headache. "This isn't good."
Su Qianqian was confused. "What's wrong? Wasn't Wan Quan quite fierce just now?"
"I temporarily unblocked Wan Quan’s Ren and Du meridians; he can handle a third-rank expert, but this Mo Dong is a fourth-rank expert. Wan Quan's fundamental training is too poor. He cannot defeat Mo Dong."
Lu Ye did a few stretches to warm up and laughed, "Looks like I’ll have to get on the ring myself."
Su Qianqian immediately laughed. "Have you forgotten the curse? How could you possibly get a chance to fight when I'm around?"
No sooner had she finished speaking than Cai Yueyao shouted to Wan Quan from the ring, "Step down."
"I am the host of this tournament. No one is allowed to turn a deaf ear to my rules!"
Mo Dong frowned and asked, "Miss Cai, what is the meaning of this?"
Cai Yueyao took off her jacket and tossed it to Lu Ye, leaving her in a form-fitting athletic T-shirt that perfectly accentuated her slender, athletic frame. She clenched her fists and walked to the other side of the ring to confront Mo Dong.
"You said that only those with strong fists have the right to speak of rules, right? Today, I’ll teach you how to follow them!"
Mo Chong had already been carried away by Gan Fu. Wan Quan glanced at Lu Ye, saw him nod, and then self-consciously hopped out of the ring.
Only Mo Dong and Cai Yueyao remained.
Mo Dong looked at her with disdain. "As far as I know, Miss Cai, you aren't from a martial arts family, are you? In these matches, life and death are up to fate. Do you think this is a game?"
Cai Yueyao let out a light huff and sneered, "Beating a weakling like you is no different from a game."
Being looked down upon by a young woman? Mo Dong was instantly enraged. "Don't regret this! I won't go easy on you just because you're a woman!"
Cai Yueyao cursed impatiently, "You really are like a magpie cracking sunflower seeds—your mouth never stops moving!"
*Why so much nonsense?* Cai Yueyao decided to strike first.
Su Qianqian cupped her hands around her mouth and screamed, "Cai-cai, go for it!" She wasn't worried about Cai Yueyao at all because she had her husband as a benchmark. Although she had never seen the "little jerk" fight in earnest, she knew he was an expert beyond any ranking! If Cai Yueyao was Lu Ye’s comrade, how bad could she possibly be? Plus, seeing Lu Ye’s calm and collected expression, Su Qianqian knew Cai Yueyao was guaranteed a win.
Suddenly, she found herself admiring Cai Yueyao’s decisive, ruthless style. She asked curiously, "Little jerk, what rank is Cai-cai?"
Lu Ye thought for a moment and said, "She isn't ranked either."
That was technically true; the Cai family wasn't a martial arts clan. Moreover, Cai Yueyao had learned her kung fu from him. The girl was exceptionally gifted. It had taken her only three years to master everything Lu Ye taught her, and after returning to Licheng, she hadn't slacked off for a single day, practicing and consolidating her skills on her own. Her foundation was incredibly solid.
On the ring, legs whistled through the air, leaving the audience stunned. Cai Yueyao was actually matching Mo Dong in his specialty—leg techniques—and not giving an inch! How much power was hidden in that slim body was beyond imagination; she was truly worthy of the title "Girl of Superhuman Strength."
*Whoosh!*
Mo Dong swept his powerful Vajra Leg toward Cai Yueyao’s waist once again. Cai Yueyao bent her supple waist backward to easily dodge it, then seized the opportunity to deliver a kick to his groin, forcing Mo Dong to retract his leg and defend.
After a few rounds of probing, Mo Dong was shocked. He clearly sensed that Cai Yueyao’s strength was no less than his own fourth-rank level, and she had been using only leg techniques to fight him the entire time, without resorting to any other styles.
Mo Dong was already panting heavily, proving he had exhausted his strength. Yet, Cai Yueyao’s breathing remained steady, her expression unchanged. She countered every move with ease, even finding the breath to mock him: "Is this it? And you call yourself a fourth-rank expert?"
"You can't even beat a 'rankless' woman like me, yet you have the nerve to show off your third-rate skills in front of me?"
A roar of laughter erupted from the crowd. Mo Dong had lost face completely.
Only Mo Dong knew his own situation; he was suffering in silence. If Cai Yueyao’s strength were measured by martial arts family standards, she was at least a fifth or even sixth-rank expert! She was fully capable of defeating him in one move. The only reason she was dragging it out was likely just to humiliate him. She wanted to defeat him using his own specialty—the Mo family's Vajra Leg—to turn it into a joke.
As the fight continued, Mo Dong’s speed gradually slowed, and his legs grew weaker. He was being worn down to exhaustion by Cai Yueyao.
"Hah!"
Perhaps finding the game boring, Cai Yueyao suddenly delivered a full-force kick to Mo Dong’s chest. The hundred-plus-pound man flew two or three meters into the air, tracing a parabolic arc out of the ring and crashing heavily into the crowd, where he passed out on the spot.
The air went silent for a few seconds before erupting into deafening cheers.
"Miss Cai is amazing!"
"Miss Cai is mighty!"
Cai Yueyao dusted off her hands and performed a stylish side-flip off the ring. She walked straight toward Mo Chong and Gan Fu, who were hiding in a corner. Seeing her approach with a wicked grin, Mo Chong hurriedly shut his eyes and continued to play dead.
Cai Yueyao knew he was awake. She said coldly, "Mo Chong, a bet is a bet. You need to pay the tenfold compensation to Uncle Tan in front of me."
Mo Chong chose to keep his eyes closed, remaining silent. He might be a useless sack of meat when it came to fighting, but when it came to welching on a debt, no one in Licheng dared to claim second place if Mo Chong claimed first. *Are you kidding?* Ten times the amount—that was six hundred million! If he gave that money away, his old man would skin him alive.
