The brick!
Yes, it must be because of that brick!
Countless heroes throughout history have fallen to the power of a simple brick.
The brick is the natural enemy of us martial artists!
As long as I keep Lu Ye from getting his hands on that thing, dealing with him will be a piece of cake.
Charge!
Shen He wiped the dried blood from his face, took long strides toward the main entrance of Yiren Group, burst into the lobby, and roared, "Lu Ye, you coward! Get out here and take a beating!"

Dozens of security guards in uniform turned to glare at him in unison. "Hey, what are you doing here?"
Shen He was stunned. "What the hell... what is this?"
What a coincidence.
Today happened to be the day for the weekly mandatory training session at Yiren Group.
Fifty security guards were assembled in the lobby, waiting for Lu Ye to come down and oversee their drill. Under Lu Ye’s guidance, these guards could not be called the absolute best in the business, but they were certainly more than capable of keeping the company entrance secure.

"Is this idiot a runaway from a mental asylum?"
"Looks like it. Let’s grab him and wait for Brother Lu to handle it."
Bloodied and disheveled, Shen He had stormed in yelling like a lunatic, so it was only natural they mistook him for an escaped patient.
Seeing them reach for their gear and surround him, Shen He shouted, "Insolence! I am a successor of the Tiger-Shape Fist! How dare you lay a hand on me?"
This only confirmed the guards' suspicions that he was mentally unstable.

"You've been watching too many martial arts movies, haven't you?"
"Get him down!"
Two guards pinned his arms from either side, two more leaped to secure his legs, and another locked him in a chokehold from behind.
They focused on his vulnerable joints, rendering Shen He completely immobile. Any further struggle would have resulted in an instant dislocation of his limbs.
This was a tactical maneuver Lu Ye had personally taught them to handle troublemakers. Even if the guards were individually weaker than an opponent, they could use these group tactics to instantly lock up the joints of the hands, elbows, knees, and wrists.
No matter how high your martial arts level, struggling only guaranteed you would dislocate your own bones first.

A young guard jumped up and flicked Shen He on the forehead, mocking, "You call yourself a successor of the Tiger-Shape Fist? You look more like a successor of the Tiger-Headed Idiot!"
"Guys, didn't this psycho call out Supervisor Lu when he walked in?"
"What do you think? Should we teach him a lesson on Supervisor Lu’s behalf?"
These guards were all close friends of Lu Ye. The veterans had once gone with him to the Sunshine Residential Complex to help him fight, and the newcomers had all been integrated into the fold.
Though Lu Ye’s official monthly salary was a steady 1,800 yuan, the actual benefits and compensation for Yiren Group’s security team were the highest in the entire Mingzhu City.

Moreover, as the head of the security department, Lu Ye treated them well, frequently handing out red envelopes and perks. The working environment was relaxed, and the guards genuinely respected him like an older brother.
Therefore, Shen He was in for a rough time.
The guards scrambled to punch and kick him, hoping to earn some praise from Lu Ye later.

Su Qianqian’s secretary rushed into her office. "President Su, it’s bad! Someone is fighting at the entrance!"
Su Qianqian glanced at Lu Ye, who was taking a nap on the sofa. "Why don't you go take a look?"
Lu Ye sat up, stretched, and nodded. "Sure."
When he arrived downstairs, he saw Shen He’s face so swollen his eyes were hidden, complete with a pig-like nose and sausage lips. If not for the large lump on his forehead—which Lu Ye had personally caused with a brick—he might not have recognized him at all.

"So, Mr. Successor of the Tiger-Shape Fist, we already had our battle, and I’ve fought you enough. What are you doing back here?"
"If you have a death wish or want to commit self-harm, please turn right at the exit and jump off the Mingzhu Bridge. Don’t dirty the grounds of Yiren Group."
Lu Ye dragged Shen He like a dead dog toward the entrance, intending to toss him onto the street. Just then, a Mercedes pulled up.
Wan Quan had been waiting for news from Shen He, but when none came, he decided to drive over to check. Lu Ye simply threw Shen He onto the hood of the Mercedes.
*Bang!*
The windshield shattered into countless fragments.
Wan Quan slammed on the brakes, stepped out, and pointed at Lu Ye. "What do you think you're doing?"
Lu Ye shrugged innocently and smiled. "Isn't this your man? I’m just returning him to you."

Su Qianqian walked out of the office to watch the spectacle. She pointed at the unconscious Shen He on the hood and frowned. "President Wan, why did you send this man to cause trouble at our company?"
Wan Quan immediately denied it. "I did no such thing! I don't even know who this person is!"
Lu Ye asked suspiciously, "His name is Shen He. Are you telling me you really don't know him, President Wan?"
Wan Quan retorted, "I don't know him! President Su and I just signed a major contract last night; why would I send someone to cause trouble at Yiren Group?"
"Oh? That’s strange!" Lu Ye said. "Shen He claimed to be your family retainer and said you were the young master of a martial arts family. He claimed he was a successor of the Tiger-Shape Fist and that he was acting on your orders to break my arms and warn me to stay away from my wife..."
Lu Ye asked with a smile, "President Wan, are you sure that’s not the case?"

His words were half-truth and half-deception, but they successfully led Wan Quan to believe that Shen He had betrayed him.
To distance himself, Wan Quan roared, "Nonsense! I don't know him at all! To smear my reputation like this—this is truly intolerable!"
*Bam! Bam! Bam!*
Wan Quan jumped onto the hood himself and kicked and stomped on Shen He. He felt that the harder he kicked, the more he could clear his name. Plus, since this dog had dared to betray his master and almost ruin his plans, Wan Quan was happy to vent his frustration.

Lu Ye frowned. "It seems I really misunderstood. My apologies, President Wan!"
Wan Quan forced a smile and said magnanimously, "It’s fine. As long as it’s a misunderstanding, it’s all cleared up."
"As for this guy, I’m taking him back to interrogate him about why he’s trying to smear me."
"Goodbye, President Su. Goodbye, Mr. Lu."
Lu Ye nodded. "Yes, yes, go away, go away!"
Wan Quan shoved Shen He through the shattered windshield and drove off in a panic.

Lu Ye curled his lips and chuckled. "This President Wan is getting more and more interesting."
Su Qianqian asked, "Was that man really sent by him?"
"Yes, but by the time I got downstairs, our security team had already handled him. He’s just some bottom-feeder; thinking he could cause trouble at Yiren Group—Wan Quan must be out of his mind."

...

Back home, Wan Quan dragged Shen He to the garden’s decorative pond and shoved his head into the water.
"Gurgle, gurgle..."
Shen He woke up, coughing and struggling.
Wan Quan threw him onto the ground and demanded coldly, "Did you spill everything to that Lu guy? How does he know so much about my background?"
It took Shen He a long time to regain his senses. "Young Master, I didn't tell him anything! He found out about your background on his own!"
*Slap!*
Wan Quan struck him across the face. "Are you taking me for a fool? You think that pretty boy could dig up my family history on his own?"
Lu Ye’s earlier words had convinced Wan Quan that Shen He had betrayed him, and no other explanation seemed logical to him.

Shen He felt more wronged than Dou E. He hadn't said a word, yet he had been beaten, and now he was being treated as a traitor.
Tears streaming down his face, he pleaded, "Young Master, that Lu fellow is not as simple as we thought. Don’t fall for his scheme to drive a wedge between us!"
Wan Quan snorted, "Of course I know that. Do you think I’m blind?"
He calmed down and thought it over. There was indeed something suspicious about the situation. Shen He was a servant who had watched him grow up; he had been loyal for years and had no reason to betray him.
What troubled Wan Quan most was that Lu Ye had been far too calm throughout the entire encounter. Even after learning of his identity, Lu Ye had remained unfazed, not at all like a weakling who would beg for mercy.

"It seems we need to dig deeper into the background of this Lu Ye."
