Lu Ye was locked alone in a cramped, pitch-black little room.

He sat on a square iron chair, both hands cuffed through a board clamped across the front of the seat.

Suddenly someone pushed the door open, took off his hat, and set it on the table, revealing a face with a certain resemblance to Xu Zhaocai and Xu Fugui. He said with an overbearing air, "Lu Ye, we've now confirmed that you deliberately destroyed another's property, and the amount involved is substantial. Is there anything you'd like to confess?"

Lu Ye looked up at him, his eyes suddenly turning mocking. "You're Xu Jinbao?"

Xu Jinbao smiled meaningfully. "That's right. Zhaocai and Fugui are both my younger brothers."

Lu Ye closed his eyes to rest, ignoring him.

His cocky little attitude irritated Xu Jinbao to no end. "Sit up straight and show some respect. I'm about to start interrogating you!"

Lu Ye opened one eyelid and chuckled lightly. "You? You're not qualified to interrogate me."

Xu Jinbao pulled out a stun baton, pressed the switch, and sparks crackled and popped. He barked, "I need qualifications to interrogate you? Who the hell do you think you are?"

Lu Ye feigned shock. "Young Master Xu, isn't beating a confession out of someone against the rules?"

Xu Jinbao sneered. "All the cameras in this room are already turned off anyway. Who's going to know?"

Lu Ye chuckled. "Is that so? Then that makes things easier."

Xu Jinbao strode forward and jabbed the electric baton at Lu Ye's chest!

Before anyone could see what happened, the handcuffs that had been locked on Lu Ye suddenly snapped open, and he slapped them onto Xu Jinbao's wrist.

The electric baton was also knocked back by a punch from Lu Ye, the shocking end jamming right under Xu Jinbao's chin!

High-voltage current sent Xu Jinbao into violent convulsions for several seconds, until Lu Ye kicked him back into the chair across from him, and only then did the baton fly out of his hand, clatter to the floor, and roll to the side.

The two men immediately glared at Lu Ye with murderous intent.

Xu Jinbao hesitated for a moment, then glared at Lu Ye. "I'll let you have two more minutes of comfort. I'll deal with you when I get back!"

Closing the iron door behind him, Xu Jinbao returned to his office.

Ye Qiu was already sitting on the sofa waiting for him, a lawyer standing beside him.

Ye Qiu never cared for empty pleasantries. He got straight to the point. "I want to see Lu Ye. This is my lawyer, Song Xiang."

Xu Jinbao unhurriedly poured himself a cup of tea and said in a low voice, "Young Master Ye, even bringing a lawyer won't do you any good."

"Lu Ye has already confessed to everything. He deliberately destroyed more than a dozen excavators belonging to my second brother, with the amount involved exceeding fifty million. He's definitely eating prison food for this one. No one is getting him out today, no matter who shows up."

Seeing Xu Jinbao's attitude, Ye Qiu knew there was no room to negotiate.

He stood up and left with Lawyer Song, without even bothering to say goodbye.
