Chapter 7: The Source of Fire, The Onset of the Tsunami!
Canceling the casting delay.
Though such a thing might seem useless on the surface, in battle, its effect is tremendous.
For example, when he previously used the Chaos Domain, he had to chant hymns to the God of Chaos. But next time, Lin Han would only need to stand here, do nothing, and perhaps a meteorite would descend from the sky in an instant. The enemy wouldn’t even have time to realize when he cast the spell. This alone was enough to demonstrate the power of this skill book.
Though it was merely a support skill, after a ten-thousand-fold amplification, it had reached the level of a forbidden spell.
Suddenly, the entire island began to shake violently. Lin Han quickly steadied himself. Before he could react, the tremors grew even more intense. In the distance, the volcano was already spewing magma.
“As expected!”
“The meteorite’s impact just now shattered the island’s ley lines!”
As a top student, Lin Han immediately deduced what had happened.
Meanwhile, on the sea, the shockwaves from the meteor’s fall stirred up monstrous waves, surging thousands of meters into the sky, with cyclones condensing above the ocean. In an instant, the entire island and its surroundings were plunged into catastrophe.
Lin Han’s eyes narrowed.
He had succeeded.
The volcanic eruption had triggered a hurricane. This was precisely why he had come to the forbidden zone of the Sea Marsh Realm.
At that moment, the volcano erupted in an instant, and with it, a massive tsunami swept across the sea.
Right then, the Chaos Domain’s buff fully activated.
[Buff Bonus]: 30% damage immunity, 50% movement speed increase.
Seeing this, Lin Han hesitated no longer. Although the tsunami would indeed cause trouble for Glorious Moon City, right now, he had to obtain the Source of Elements, regardless of the cost.
Dodging the onslaught of disasters, Lin Han gathered all the equipment into his inventory.
Then, without hesitation, he plunged straight into the heart of the volcano. It was dangerous, but with his health, shield, and the new buffs, he had nothing to fear.
Only here could he obtain the Elemental Source he needed.
Venturing into the volcano, he found it devoid of monsters. Lin Han pressed deeper, feeling the heat intensify, but for someone with his overwhelming shield, it was no more bothersome than a sauna.
Suddenly, a dazzling light ahead caught his attention.
“The Source of Fire Element!”
Lin Han recognized it at once.
He’d read about it in textbooks, and by its characteristics, it was unmistakable.
He approached without hesitation and pocketed the Source of Fire Element.
Even though he’d anticipated this, Lin Han hadn’t expected it to be so easy to collect the materials needed for his second advancement.
Next, he only needed to complete the second advancement quest, and he could continue leveling as a second-tier class.
Wasting no time, Lin Han left the volcano. He had more to do.
Out on the sea, the Source of Wind Element was still waiting for him.
The Elemental Sources were, in essence, the origins of natural disasters.
Now, with a volcanic eruption and tsunami, two great disasters had occurred—just as Lin Han had hoped.
He needed a single disaster source for his second advancement, and two for the third.
Disaster sources were exceedingly rare. Even with Lin Han’s current resources, obtaining one wasn’t easy. He had to seize every opportunity.
Emerging from the crater, Lin Han didn’t hesitate. Maximizing his speed, he charged straight into the tsunami.
Facing such a colossal wave, Lin Han felt no fear. To acquire the disaster sources, he had to brave these trials.
Sensing the movement of the tsunami, Lin Han immediately searched for the origin of the wind at its heart.
According to his textbooks, the disaster source would always appear at the very epicenter—the most perilous spot.
However, with his active buffs, Lin Han moved through the tsunami with ease, and with his health and shield reaching 2.4 million, he had all the confidence he needed to claim both disaster sources.
It didn’t take long for Lin Han to lock onto the location of the Source of Wind Element.
...
At the same time—
“Director, bad news! Near the border with the Sea Marsh Realm, a tremendous tsunami has erupted and will reach Glorious Moon City soon!”
The entire city was in utter chaos.
“What are these people doing—who’s fighting near Glorious Moon City?!”
Sun Hu slammed his fist on the table, frowning deeply.
“Director, this individual’s power is terrifying—at least at the Saint rank! We absolutely cannot provoke them!”
The scout’s voice trembled with fear.
To them, such beings were the stuff of myth—they’d never seen one before.
“Of course I know that!” Sun Hu snapped, frustrated.
If you want to fight, why do it near Glorious Moon City? A disaster of this scale would be a huge blow to the city. The reconstruction costs alone would be astronomical.
What infuriated him most was that, with someone of that level, even if they found out who it was, they couldn’t ask for compensation.
They would have to swallow this bitter pill themselves.
“Sir, Chief Liu is calling!”
A scout rushed over in a panic, respectfully handing Sun Hu the phone.
“Chief Liu, this is Sun Hu!” Sun Hu answered immediately.
“Director Sun, what’s happening in Glorious Moon City right now? What is your Investigation Bureau even doing? How did you miss a tsunami of this magnitude?” Liu Changlong’s powerful voice came through the line.
“You think our Investigation Department is omnipotent? Our annual budget is limited, but the demands keep growing. If you think you can do better, come take my job—I’d gladly step down!” Sun Hu rolled his eyes, though his tone remained respectful.
“Chief Liu, this disaster wasn’t natural—it was man-made!”
“Man-made?” Liu Changlong was puzzled.
Sun Hu explained, “According to our observations, the tsunami originated near the Sea Marsh Realm. The location matches the site of a massive magic surge earlier, so I suspect this disaster was caused by a battle involving that mysterious powerhouse.”
“The most plausible explanation is that a powerful human is fighting a formidable monster in the sea near the Sea Marsh Realm!”
Chief Liu was silent for a long time before replying, “What are your next steps?”
Sun Hu responded decisively, “The Investigation Department has already contacted Glorious Moon City’s elite combatants. They’ve gone to the front lines to fight the tsunami together.”
“As for that human powerhouse, we’re in no position to assist further. Glorious Moon City can’t endure another ordeal like this.”
