At this moment, deep within the underground city, Lin Han had already secured the Apostle’s Heart, marking the complete success of his mission. After the forbidden spell swept through the area, he found himself in possession of seven pieces of equipment—not an especially high drop rate this time, but nevertheless, his gains were considerable. Though this mercenary group seemed somewhat impoverished, he still managed to acquire three pieces of golden gear and, surprisingly, three skill books from their ranks. However, these items and skills held little practical use for Lin Han himself. Now that the Apostle’s Heart was in his hands, all that remained was to return to the Job Change Hall and he would successfully achieve his second advancement. As for the equipment, it would have to wait until after his advancement before he could sell it for gold.

Suddenly, the entire dungeon began to shake violently. Lin Han’s instincts screamed a warning—could this be the aftermath of the forbidden spell’s devastation? Not good! The place was about to collapse! Only now did Lin Han realize what had felt subtly wrong from the start: the chaotic energies unleashed had directly caused the dungeon’s foundations to fail.

Relying on his memory, Lin Han hurried towards the exit; if he lingered any longer, he too would be buried beneath the rubble. As he drew near the exit, he saw that countless people had already perished in the collapse. Guilt welled up in Lin Han’s heart—after all, these lives were lost because of his actions.

The Grace of the Gods! Guardian Angel! Forbidden-tier: by chanting the Hymn of the Goddess of Life, a portion of the fallen could be resurrected. Mechanical, elemental, and undead beings were exempt from this miracle.

In an instant, Lin Han's brows turned a faint white, and a divine aura enveloped him. Radiant light burst forth from his body, flowing outwards in all directions. Those bathed in the glow began to stir—hearts beating, breaths drawn anew. For a fleeting moment, the dead returned to life.

Lin Han felt a touch of helplessness. This, after all, was the forbidden spell his class was meant to wield. If he didn’t make use of it from time to time, he might forget that his true role was that of a healer. Still, he only resurrected those who had died as a direct result of his actions. As for those felled by failed boss runs, by others’ hands, or the mercenary group—he left them as they were.

By reviving only those whose deaths were on his conscience, he allowed them to believe their survival was a mere stroke of luck—perhaps they hadn’t been hit by falling debris, after all. If he resurrected everyone indiscriminately, it would surely spark rumors and draw unwanted attention, perhaps even endangering his life. Besides, he bore no obligation to save them all.

“Hurry up, all of you! Move it!” Suddenly, a clamor rose from the direction of the exit as a team clad in the uniforms of the Detection Department rushed in.

“There are wounded here, and they’re still breathing!”

“Here as well—this one’s alive, not dead yet!”

At the rear of the group, Sun Hu entered, his heart aching at the sight of the ruined dungeon. This had been one of Huiyue City’s most lucrative trial grounds, now utterly destroyed. Still, many had survived, and though there were plenty of injuries, few were in mortal danger.

“Everyone, focus on rescue, but stay alert. That Supreme powerhouse could still be inside. If you spot anyone acting suspiciously, report at once. Someone of that caliber is beyond our ability to handle!”

At Sun Hu’s words, the rescuers grew even more cautious.

“All those who can move, gather here! I’ll send you out shortly!” Sun Hu’s voice echoed through the dungeon.

Lin Han, wishing to avoid suspicion, joined the line of wounded, blending in with the others.

“Boss, you’re alive!” Liu Wei’s voice called out from behind. Lin Han turned, relieved to see a familiar face. “Liu Wei, are you alright?”

Liu Wei scratched his head and grinned, “Good guys get good fortune, I suppose. I’d been trapped by a cave-in—a huge stone knocked me out cold. Honestly, I thought I was dead, but when I woke up, I was fine.”

“Maybe you’re just lucky,” Lin Han replied, though he knew perfectly well Liu Wei had been among those he’d resurrected. Even so, Lin Han still felt a pang of guilt; such outcomes were impossible to foresee, and even though he’d brought people back to life, the responsibility weighed on him.

“Boss, looks like this trip was a waste, but perhaps that’s just as well. The Abyssal Apostle isn’t someone you could handle anyway. Don’t be discouraged—you didn’t get the prize, but at least we survived, right?”

Lin Han replied, “Actually, I got the Apostle’s Heart. Once I get back, I’ll be ready for my second advancement.”

“You… you got it?” Liu Wei stared at him in disbelief. “Boss, you really soloed the Abyssal Apostle? What are you, a monster? You actually did it as a healer?”

“Just lucky, that’s all.” Lin Han gave a modest summary. By then, Sun Hu was already organizing the teleportation array to evacuate the survivors, and most were eager to leave this perilous place. After saying goodbye to Liu Wei, Lin Han made his way towards the Job Change Hall.

He entered the hall with practiced ease and approached the same receptionist who had handled his quest last time.

“Hello, I’m here to submit my mission.” Lin Han set the Apostle’s Heart on the counter.

The receptionist’s eyes widened in astonishment—how could he have completed the Apostle’s Heart quest in such a short time?

Others in the hall, waiting to accept missions, cast their gazes toward Lin Han.

“He took down the Abyssal Apostle this quickly—is this guy a monster?”

“That can’t be! He’s a healer and he soloed the Abyssal Apostle? That’s terrifying!”

“What’s going on with him? Is he some secret weapon trained by a major family?”

“At this pace, he must have set a new record for clearing the Abyssal Apostle!”

“Unbelievable!”

The entire hall buzzed with whispers. In their eyes, this was a mission nearly impossible for a healer—yet he had completed it in record time, almost as if he were a demon.

Lin Han felt their stares and smiled. “Just lucky, really. There happened to be two powerful experts fighting nearby at the time—I simply took advantage of the opportunity.”

At that, the hall fell silent.

Lucky? That was more than just luck—it bordered on the miraculous!

“Well, when you put it that way, I guess it makes sense. The Abyssal Apostle is tough for a Level 10, but for a real heavyweight, it’s child’s play.”

“True enough—his luck is enviable.”

“If only I could meet someone like that to carry me through a mission someday…”
