At that moment, the Magic Detection Center of Radiant Moon City was once again engulfed by flashing red warning lights.
“Not good!”
Si Lintian jolted awake and rushed into the center’s main office at once. Sun Hu arrived moments later.
“Minister, Commander Si Lintian, intense magical fluctuations have occurred in the wilderness to the west. Our initial assessment places them at the level of a forbidden spell!” the monitoring officer reported in a panic.
“How do they compare with the previous incidents?” Si Lintian asked decisively.
“They’re stronger! This forbidden-spell fluctuation is far more powerful than either of the previous two!”
“What?” Si Lintian fell into thought. “Could that fellow have returned? He had already left Radiant Moon City. Why would he come back?!”
“Senior, what matters now is getting there as quickly as possible. At your speed, you might still make it in time,” Sun Hu urged. “Although the spell erupted in a deserted area, a battle of this magnitude is taking place there. If we leave it unchecked, those people may cause even greater trouble in the future.”
“Greater trouble?”
Si Lintian sighed. “That man has already unleashed forbidden spells three times within Radiant Moon City. This magical fluctuation is even stronger than before. Either his strength has increased tremendously, or he still has another trump card he has yet to reveal.”
“They clearly don’t take us seriously at all,” Sun Hu said, fully aware of how troublesome the matter was. “Are we really going to let them act unchecked this time?”
“We cannot.” Si Lintian shook his head. “This forbidden spell is extremely powerful, and it has appeared in the wilderness. I suspect those two have crossed paths again.”
“Previously, their clashes all took place inside dungeons. This time, however, the location is fundamentally different from all the previous ones.”
“The earlier incidents may have been attempts to find something within the dungeons. But this time, I suspect the two sides have finally come to blows in earnest.”
After hearing Si Lintian’s analysis, Sun Hu asked solemnly, “In that case, should we contact Public Security and have everyone mobilized?”
“It would be useless. Against experts of this caliber, sending out more ordinary people would be nothing but ants trying to stop a chariot. They would serve no purpose whatsoever.”
“Mobilize every expert above level fifty in Radiant Moon City. I don’t care how many there are—send them toward the location immediately.”
“We have no idea how long this battle will last. We need to resolve it swiftly.”

“Our Imperial Capital Investigation Group will lead the way and clear a path for everyone. No matter what it takes, we must wipe them out completely this time!”
“Oh, and bring the medical personnel as well!”
Hearing Si Lintian’s orders, Sun Hu replied solemnly, “Please rest assured, Senior. I’ll make the arrangements immediately. Take this earpiece with you. If anything unexpected happens, I’ll contact you at once.”
Si Lintian accepted the earpiece and put it on.
“I’m heading out.”
As soon as he spoke, Si Lintian vanished from the spot. When he appeared again, the Imperial Capital Investigation Group had already assembled in the air above the Magic Detection Center.
“Senior, fly west,” Sun Hu instructed. Watching Si Lintian’s position, he continuously relayed the most precise coordinates.
“Understood.”
Si Lintian answered briefly before immediately flying off.
…
Elsewhere in the wilderness, Feihua and Zhang Xifeng were covered in wounds. Their battle had become extraordinarily brutal.
Both were mighty experts of the Supreme Realm, and their clash was naturally savage beyond measure.
“Senior Three-Blade Sword, this is enough. There’s no need to continue fighting,” Feihua said, landing on a nearby tree while nervously watching Three-Blade Sword’s movements.
Even with the Armor-Breaking Blade, dealing with him was proving extremely difficult. This time, she had truly experienced firsthand how formidable Three-Blade Sword was.
Though Zhang Xifeng suffered from hidden injuries, defeating him was still far from easy.
The reputation of Three-Blade Sword Zhang Xifeng was well deserved!
With a resolute gaze, Zhang Xifeng said, “So you intend to let me leave?”
“That won’t do.”
Feihua smiled. “My employer ordered me to keep you firmly pinned down here. You won’t be going anywhere for the time being.”
“Little girl, I may be old, but I truly don’t want to see a young prodigy like you perish here,” Zhang Xifeng said. “Leave now, and I will not hold you responsible.”

Feihua replied, “Senior, you’ve said that to me many times already. I’m a loyal person. There’s no way I would betray my own employer.”
“Since I say you cannot pass today, then you will not pass.”
Zhang Xifeng sneered. “If I unleash my full strength, do you really think you can stop me?”
“Then by all means, give it a try.”
Feihua smiled as she tightened her grip on the dagger, ready to deal with any sudden turn of events.
Compared with her opponent, Feihua had expended far more energy.
Zhang Xifeng was a swordsman, so she could only rely on her advantage in speed to fight him. Naturally, that consumed much more of her stamina.
Even now, she could barely maintain an even match with him.
But she knew that Three-Blade Sword Zhang Xifeng still had not gone all out.
“Quite courageous.” Zhang Xifeng sneered. “Young people these days truly have no idea how vast the heavens are or how broad the earth.”
“That’s what being young is all about,” Feihua replied with a smile.
“You still haven’t learned a forbidden spell, have you?” Zhang Xifeng suddenly asked.
Feihua answered honestly, “That’s right. I haven’t learned one. But it shouldn’t matter even without a forbidden spell. Even if you use one, Senior, you may not be able to kill me here.”
“An assassin’s primary purpose is assassination. Unless forced into a frontal battle, there are few opportunities to use a forbidden spell.”
“But for me, whether I have one or not no longer matters.”
“Hmph. Only someone who cannot use a forbidden spell would say that.” Zhang Xifeng laughed mockingly. “The difference between a forbidden spell and an ultimate skill is like heaven and earth. Judging by the look of things, you must be one of the very few Saint-tier experts capable of awakening a forbidden spell.”
“Still, I sometimes envy people like you. Although you awaken your forbidden spells late, the ones you awaken are among the most powerful. If I had failed to awaken one back then, perhaps I would not have been so arrogant as to do what I did and ruin myself. By now, I might have become a Saint-tier expert as well.”
Listening to Zhang Xifeng, Feihua smiled. “Senior, a forbidden spell may be powerful, but it is not everything. Still, I’ve heard that Three-Blade Sword’s forbidden spell is extraordinarily powerful. At the very least, you were unquestionably among the foremost young talents of your generation.”
“It seems you truly have no intention of holding back. In that case, allow me to test it first.”
