Si Jiu rubbed her painfully pinched chin, spat, and rose to her feet. Turning to the frightened patrons, she said, “Sorry about that. The mental patient from our facility suddenly had an epileptic seizure and scared you all.”
“Ah! He’s a mental patient?”
“Are mental patients allowed to wander around freely?”
“How frightening. No wonder he looked so terrifying just now.”
Si Jiu soothed the onlookers. “I’m so sorry. He was discharged after recovering, and this was only a routine follow-up visit. I never expected him to relapse. He probably forgot to take his medicine today.”
“He’s terrifying. He isn’t going to bite anyone, is he?”
“Don’t people bite their own tongues when they have seizures?”
“Should we call an ambulance?”
Everyone chattered as they gathered around Lin Yang, who lay on the floor, foaming at the mouth and convulsing. Some even furtively pulled out their phones to record him.
“My colleague is coming to pick him up. Look, they’re calling now. Hello? You’re here? You can’t find the place? I sent you the location. All right, all right, I’ll come out to meet you. Doctor Zhang came with you, right? Good, good…”
The onlookers watched as Si Jiu walked out of the café while speaking on the phone. After waiting for quite some time, they realized she was not coming back.
In the end, the café owner called an ambulance. By the time it arrived, Lin Yang had regained consciousness.
He insisted that there was nothing wrong with him, but he was extremely uncooperative and so agitated that he attacked the medical staff. After hearing from concerned bystanders that he had a history of mental illness, the medics simply tied him up and carried him into the ambulance.
Someone even recorded the scene and uploaded it to the internet, where it went viral for several days.

…
Although she had not actually been kissed, Si Jiu still felt thoroughly disgusted.
She stormed toward the residential complex, regretting with every step that she had not shocked him more severely.
[Host Daddy, if you had shocked him any harder, he would have died. This is a society governed by law. Though I have to admit, I rather wanted to electrocute him until he was incapable of caring for himself too. What a disgusting scumbag.]
[Deal with the surveillance footage from the café. Make sure it doesn’t capture my face.]
[Leave it to me. You can trust me. (′ω`)]
Si Jiu hummed in acknowledgment. Rubbing her chin, she stepped into the elevator.
The elevator ascended. When it reached her floor, Si Jiu stepped out. As soon as she arrived at the door, she saw Xie Yu standing outside his apartment, speaking with an unfamiliar man.
“Xie…” She waved.
Xie Yu glanced at her, then shifted his gaze away as though he had not seen her.
Awkwardly, Si Jiu lowered her hand and bit her lip.
“Then it’s settled. Brother Xie, you don’t need to see me out. I won’t disturb your rest. The car will pick you up downstairs tomorrow.”
Xie Yu nodded. “Take care.”
The man gave a startled sound, turned around, and cast a curious glance at Si Jiu before hurrying away.

Seeing that Xie Yu was about to close the door, Si Jiu hurriedly called out, “A-Yu, wait.”
Xie Yu ignored her completely.
Si Jiu rushed forward, but the door slammed shut with a bang, missing the tip of her nose by a hair.
The system said, [Oh-ho~]
[Wasn’t he supposed to be easy to coax? Go on, coax him, hee-hee-hee…]
“Damn.” Si Jiu clicked her tongue and rubbed her nose morosely. “He has quite a temper.”
Inside the apartment, Xie Yu leaned against the door, his face dark with displeasure.
The marks left by the fingers on her chin were far too conspicuous, as though they were silently mocking him. Even now, they remained starkly etched in his mind.
And then, uncontrollably, the scene he had witnessed earlier replayed itself: she had sat there obediently while Lin Yang held her chin, gazing at him with a seductive, alluring smile. Then Lin Yang had leaned down to kiss her.
Bang.
Xie Yu slammed his fist into the door.
What was most infuriating was that when he had seen the marks on her chin just now, the very first thought that had flashed through his mind was—
Had it hurt?
He truly must have been insane.
