Chapter 1: Transmigrated, Then Became an Outlaw

Starlight Federation, Border Colony Planet No. 9527, Pioneer City No. 66.
“Name?”
“Leon.”
“Species?”
“...Human?”
“Age?”
“Twenty-two.”
“Home address?”
“Tipper Garden...”
In the Security Bureau, the young man named Leon was just about to give his home address when the tall woman before him, her eyes ringed with deep shadows, interrupted sharply, “Don’t play dumb. You know I mean the planet.”
“...Earth.”
Upon hearing “Earth,” the tall woman began to operate the pale blue screen hovering above her wristband. After a while, she looked up at the young man, who sat handcuffed behind the desk, her brow arched. “You’re a stowaway?”
“No wonder there’s no identity information.”
Without waiting for Leon’s answer, she strode over in her heels. “If you tell me which broker’s ship you took, I can let you go.”
“Otherwise, you’ll spend your life tightening screws on the prison planet.”
Leon was feeling increasingly anxious.
He never expected that a simple sleep would leave him waking in a strange alley.
As he tried to figure out what had happened, a blue-and-white siren-blaring vehicle pulled up beside him.
Then he was arrested.
While recalling the absurd events of the day, Leon stared at the taut, bulging white shirt before him, tugging at his lips in a wry smile and making something up. “I took Nicholas’s ship.”
But clearly, he wasn’t blessed with the luck of an elite—his random lie didn’t fool anyone.
The tall woman yawned and shrugged. “Fine, don’t tell me.”
“Next question... Occupation?”
At this, Leon’s face fell, and he replied reluctantly, “...Freelancer.”
Freelancer was just a polite way of saying unemployed. He was about to graduate from university, but still hadn’t found a suitable internship.
Unexpectedly, the tall woman, whose attitude until now had been reasonably cordial, suddenly changed her expression.
She furrowed her brow, her tone severe. “You know that’s not what I’m asking!”
“If you keep refusing to cooperate, you won’t even get the chance to work on the prison planet!”
Faced with her demeanor, Leon was stunned.
It was obvious from her attitude that occupation was of utmost importance in this world.

Indeed, as an almost-graduate, Leon suspected he’d transmigrated. After all, he didn’t believe anyone would go to such lengths to play a Truman Show just for him.
Not to mention, the hovering vehicle that brought him to the Security Bureau had been all too real.
Just as Leon was about to ask for more information about occupations, a translucent screen suddenly appeared before his eyes.

“Damn, a cheat panel!?”
Seeing the panel, Leon was instantly elated.
Yet as he fantasized about something like “Let Deep Blue’s points show me your limits,” the tall woman’s voice dragged him back to reality. “Stop staring, just tell me your occupation.”
Her icy tone made Leon pause, and a peculiar thought struck him.
Perhaps everyone in this world had a panel like the one before him.
That would explain why the woman placed such importance on occupational information.
However, judging by what had just happened, it seemed only the individual could see their own panel.
With that realization, Leon dejectedly reported his mundane occupation: “Civilian.”
Yet the woman seemed unconcerned by his answer, nor did she press further. After all, on the prison planet, unless someone was a high-level professional, escape was impossible.
And high-level professionals wouldn’t appear in such a backwater anyway.
So she asked the next question: “Talent?”
Leon, his eyes lifeless, glanced at the talent section of the panel. He’d given up; life was just one endless fall...
“Trave...”
He was about to speak his talent, but suddenly stopped.
Leon stared at the talent entry, his heart pounding wildly.
[Traveler: O lost wanderer, embark on your journey. All things shall be witnessed by you. After each major event, a new journey will begin. On your travels, language will never be an obstacle.]

[Console Player: The brilliance of infinite possibilities weaves through this player from behind the wall. The number of occupations you may hold is... infinite, and you can view the advancement paths of each occupation; your panel will be gamified.]
The tall woman was busy with her pale blue wrist screen and didn’t notice Leon’s oddity, only muttering, “Traveler, huh...”
“No wonder you’re an illegal stowaway.”
Her voice pulled Leon back to reality, forcing him to steady himself and feign calm. “Ah... yes, traveler.”
Though he didn’t know exactly what the “Traveler” talent did, he was certain it differed greatly from his own “Traveler” talent.
For as its possessor, Leon had already understood its ability—
World traversal.
In addition, universal language comprehension—explaining why he could communicate effortlessly with the tall woman.
Leon wasn’t foolish; such a powerful talent surely wasn’t common.
Moreover, besides “Traveler,” he possessed another outrageous talent: “Console Player.”
From its description, it was clear that most people’s occupation slots were limited, and their panels lacked such detail.
Though people in this world seemed to have talents, Leon knew his two were exceedingly overpowered. If he revealed them, who knew whether he’d end up dissected.
He dared not gamble.
It seemed the tall woman had gathered all the information she needed. She nodded to a corner of the room’s ceiling.
Soon, two armed guards entered, taking Leon by either arm.
As they passed her, Leon faintly heard her muttering, “Honestly, can those bugs settle down for once...”
“I don’t want to work overtime anymore...”
Leon instinctively turned to look, seeing only a weary face, as if the voice he’d heard was but a hallucination.
Of course, he had no time to pity anyone else.
