Chapter 42: Victoria’s Various Forms (Please Keep Reading)

After Lind finished his proclamation as King of Men, Victoria felt countless gazes settle upon them.
Whatever emotions those gazes concealed, she felt it necessary to display her bloodline and add fuel to Lind’s momentum.
She closed her eyes, sensing the power coursing through her body. Then she focused her mental energy and guided it toward her forehead.
A multicolored pentagonal gemstone slowly materialized there.
At the same time, the scales covering her body began to change.
After absorbing the sunlight, their originally pure-white surface transformed, casting reflections in seven different colors.
Under the gaze of the entire crowd, a seven-colored divine dragon carrying two white figures surged toward the horizon.
A ribbon of iridescent light continuously formed beneath her feet, then dissipated into countless sparkling specks that drifted down over the earth, creating a breathtaking spectacle.
After flying for some distance, the gemstone on Victoria’s forehead began to grow unstable.
Taking advantage of the remaining duration, she selected blue as her primary color, and the scales covering her body harmonized with the sapphire.
Her body, already moving at top speed, suddenly accelerated a second time, making its final dash toward its destination—the Migal River Valley.
Riding on Victoria’s back, Lind and Shirona felt their bodies growing lighter.
Perhaps it was because of her transformation. Despite the tremendous speed, they did not feel the slightest discomfort, as though the currents of air were being deliberately controlled.
“Victoria, I didn’t know you had another trick up your sleeve. Nicely done.”
Lind was just about to praise her a little more when the young dragon beneath them suddenly lost her balance. Her wings stopped beating, and she began plummeting straight downward.
“Don’t crash just because I praised you!”
Shirona reacted swiftly. Her two claws immediately seized Lind by the shoulders, and she used all her strength to haul him upward.
But the young dragon, whose power had vanished and whose body had reverted to pure white, was not so fortunate. She fell toward the ground like a meteor.
At this speed, even if she survived, she would be smashed into an intellectually disabled dragon.
Lind usually called Victoria a stupid dragon only as a joke. He certainly did not want his adorable little dragon reduced to nothing more than babbling and drooling.
He hurriedly summoned the command panel.
After the previous backlash had caused an excessive drain on his prestige, the prestige points gained from achievements, along with those earned from the dragons who had witnessed the event, had successfully replenished the deficit.
That was why he could use the command function normally again.
Lind glanced at the four-digit number representing his prestige points, and his heart immediately settled.
“Updraft!”
【The /weather command has been activated.】
A small, vortex-shaped tornado formed beneath Victoria as she fell, catching and supporting her.
As the airflow gradually weakened, she made a smooth landing without further incident.
【Thirty prestige points consumed.】

The type and precision of the weather had quite a significant effect on prestige consumption, Lind thought.
Ordinary phenomena such as clouds and mist required relatively little energy, while powerful convective weather like lightning and tornadoes cost considerably more. If he had the chance in the future, he could try something directly offensive, such as hail.
What if he combined lightning and hail...?
This was not the time to think about such things. He should check on Victoria first.
Once he and Shirona had also landed, they hurried straight to the young dragon’s side.
“Victoria, are you all right?”
The white young dragon shakily raised two claws and mumbled something.
“What did you say?”
The human and dragon leaned closer at the same time.
Victoria kept both eyes tightly shut and whispered weakly, as faint as a dying breath:
“Two roast chickens...”
“My stomach is rumbling...”
Lind and Shirona fell silent.
After a long while, Lind finally sighed.
“A faded gemstone dragon is no longer worth keeping. Bury her in the ground and wait for her to be recycled a second time. Shirona, let’s go eat Crazy Roast Chicken.”
“That works.”
The blue butterfly dragon covered her mouth with one wing and giggled. Of course, she knew Lind was merely teasing the gluttonous Victoria.
Sure enough, after they deliberately pretended to walk away, the young dragon—who had been feigning death—opened her eyes when she heard no footsteps and hurriedly scrambled to her feet.
“Hey! You’re really abandoning me?!”
She was answered by two speechless stares.
Beneath the shade of a tree some distance away, Lind leaned against the trunk with one hand, his right foot crossed in front of his left. Shirona stood before him in exactly the same pose.
“If you’re not seriously hurt, stop lying on the ground and pretending to be dead. Find the underground shelter we dug in advance first.”
“But I really don’t have any strength left. I’m so tired.”
“Have a bottle of Golden Kela.”
Lind walked over to Victoria and took out a small bottle filled with golden granules. It had been prepared beforehand and could quickly restore her depleted magical power.
After swallowing three bottles, the young dragon’s condition finally improved somewhat.
Without lingering any longer, the three of them began searching for the underground shelter they had constructed in advance.

During this time, Lind finally had the opportunity to examine the upgraded prestige system in detail.
【Current prestige level: 2 (1347/3000)】
【Prestige points: 1140】
In addition to the three original commands, there was now a completely new one:
【/Strengthen: Unlock requirement—50 prestige points or more. Once activated, this command can strengthen body parts and fuse specific blocks with them.
The available areas for strengthening are divided into five sections: the head; both arms, including the hands; both legs, including the feet; the torso, excluding the limbs, head, and neck; and the back, including additional attachments such as wings.
Each section initially costs fifty prestige points and lasts for five minutes. Afterward, it enters a ten-minute cooldown.】
【Additional prestige points may be consumed during strengthening to achieve a more powerful effect. The additional effects depend on the number of points consumed.】
【Fused blocks will automatically detach when the strengthening period ends and will not affect the main body.】
After reading the command’s description, Lind stroked his chin and began to ponder.
Aside from specifying the prestige cost, this new command was rather vague in every other respect.
It did not explain how powerful the strengthening would be. And then there was this matter of fusing blocks...
His thoughts began to race.
If they later discovered a diamond mine, and the diamonds they obtained were insufficient to craft a full diamond suit, could he simply fuse them directly into his body?
The thought of having a body as hard as diamond was strangely exhilarating.
More importantly, the command could be activated instantly with nothing more than a thought.
As long as he kept specific blocks in his pocket or somewhere on his body beforehand, he could produce an unexpected effect at a critical moment.
The disadvantage was equally obvious. Each activation cost fifty prestige points, and strengthening different body parts required additional expenditure.
Therefore, under ordinary circumstances, this command was best left unused. It was more suited to emergencies and combat.
Having looted the red dragon’s treasury and completed a variety of achievements, his prestige points were still quite abundant.
Even after the backlash from deflecting a fatal attack had directly cost him 999 prestige points, and after spending more on various weather commands, he still had more than a thousand remaining.
As he pondered, Victoria’s sharp eyes spotted the special symbol marking the shelter before the others did.
After the three of them entered the underground shelter one after another, Lind resealed the entrance and erased the symbol as well.
Once he had finished, he rubbed his hands together and looked expectantly at Victoria and Shirona.
“All right, girls. Let me see what treasures you brought back.”
