027: Dr. Li Cha, Master of Andrology
The Randolph family's troubles had been resolved by Li Cha. Even if not entirely, at least the vast majority had been settled. At the very least, the Randolph family would not face a similar crisis of trust for the next three to five years.
By triggering the commission, Li Cha not only earned a six-silver-coin fee but also gained experience points, attribute bonuses, and the favor of the Randolph couple. Dr. Li Cha had made a tidy profit and was quite optimistic about the future of Charlie Clinic. Six silver coins per treatment—or five, if he offered a discount. Even with just one client every two weeks, his income would exceed his base salary at MI6.
However, Li Cha found old Shock's promotional style—which bordered on blatant bragging—to be incredibly grating. "Dr. Li Cha, a man of profound power, specifically cures wives." What on earth was that supposed to mean? And now, even worse, Li Cha had become a "miracle worker for men's health."
...
The story began yesterday evening. Ram's sewer line had developed a problem, so he sought out his friend Randolph for help. Usually, Randolph was proactive about his work, with his main focus being his pay. This time, however, Randolph’s priorities had shifted. He arrived twice as late as usual, wore a constant grin, and displayed an urgent desire to get back home.
As a friend, Ram knew that he and Randolph were in the same boat. No, actually, Randolph was even worse off than he was. After all, working at the Adventurers' Guild was more respectable and stable. Driven by curiosity, Ram asked his old friend about it. The response he got was merely a mysterious smile. Ram offered to buy Randolph drinks—the "drink until you drop" kind—but Randolph remained unmoved.
Yet, human nature is such that the less someone says, the more one wants to know. Through sheer persistence and pestering, Ram finally emerged victorious.
"My wife loves me, and I love my wife," Randolph said. "We are planning to have another child." He sounded full of confidence when he said the last part.
Ram didn't believe him. He might be balding, but he knew exactly what kind of strength Randolph possessed.
Randolph offered him a mysterious smile.
"..."
Randolph flexed his biceps for him.
"..."
Randolph added that he could take on ten men now! Ram assumed he had used some kind of drug.
"No," Randolph replied.
"Did you get a new wife?"
"Get lost!" Randolph said proudly. "A man is born to conquer a woman. Once you conquer her, she will naturally be obedient to you."
Conquer... Ram wanted that too. This was only the third year of his marriage, and they had no children yet. In the end, Ram nearly knelt before his old friend, who finally, albeit reluctantly, pointed him to the right place. Randolph also mentioned the rules of Charlie Clinic: a strict non-disclosure agreement. Ram spent the whole night thinking about it, and ultimately, he couldn't resist coming here.
Li Cha: "..."
Men and women, men conquering women... In truth, if he advertised his specialty in men's health, the business at Charlie Clinic would easily increase tenfold. It was the same logic as the "little blue pill" being a bestseller in his past life. The weak want to become strong, the strong want to become stronger; no man would ever refuse to become more powerful.
*Clink, clink.*
Ram placed ten silver coins on the table and said with a touch of urgency, "Dr. Li Cha, is this enough? If not, I can pay more!"
Excellent. Add one more thing to the list: men are willing to spend money to become stronger.
Li Cha sighed. "Come with me to the treatment room, Mr. Ram."
"Thank you! Thank you, Dr. Li Cha!" exclaimed the balding Ram.
Li Cha didn't particularly want to be a men's health specialist, but he had no choice—the pay was simply too good.
The door was locked. A cup of Tranquil Bloom tea was served. Li Cha asked Ram to sit and said slowly, "Mr. Ram, tell me about your problem."
Ram's problem was actually quite simple; his hair said it all. With that shiny, bald head so smooth a mosquito would slip on it, how healthy could his kidneys be?
Ram said he had been young once, too. Back then, he was strong enough to handle three or four women in a single night without breaking a sweat. But because he hadn't cherished his body in his youth, by the time he had his fun and got married, he found himself lacking when facing his wife. His wife was wonderful—gentle, beautiful, and frugal. But Ram's repeated failures led to her growing disdain.
That was why he craved strength. He wasn't asking to regain his youthful glory, but at the very least, he wanted to have a harmonious marital life.
Hmm. Li Cha understood. As expected of a desk worker, he phrased things much more elegantly than Randolph. "Harmonious life..." Even Li Cha, having lived two lifetimes, hadn't thought of such a high-sounding phrase.
Then, he opened his transaction panel.
The top-ranked intelligence:
[Ram's Intelligence 1]: Ram once handled three women in his youth. Value: 0 copper coins.
Next line.
[Ram's Intelligence 2]: Ram once handled two women. Value: 0 copper coins.
Next line.
One woman. 0 copper coins.
...
Li Cha couldn't help but twitch his mouth. "So, he was a total loser back in his youth."
Dr. Li Cha didn't call him out on it. The non-disclosure agreement at Charlie Clinic wasn't just for show; he would keep his clients' personal privacy strictly confidential.
"It is like this, Mr. Ram." Ram listened intently. "A good body is usually a healthy body. You should pay attention to your smoking and drinking from now on."
Ram, from the Adventurers' Guild, replied, "Dr. Li Cha, you can rest assured about that. Aside from some social obligations I can't avoid, I never touch tobacco or alcohol."
*Ding-dong.*
Notification: Transaction list updated. Please check promptly.
...
Li Cha checked. Finally, it wasn't worth zero; Ram hadn't lied about the smoking and drinking.
"The next step concerns your diet and sleep habits. I know of some foods you should eat more of, and you should try to avoid staying up late."
Hearing this, Ram pulled out a small notebook and began taking notes. Li Cha also had a set of health exercises he’d seen in short videos in his previous life, so he decided to include those as well.
Finally, Li Cha asked one question: "Mr. Ram, are you sure what you need is a harmonious marital life?"
Ram patted his chest. "Of course. I am a loyal man. Although I went out and had fun when I was younger, I haven't messed around with anyone else since I got married."
Li Cha: "..."
Ram: "Doctor, please believe me, I can swear to it!"
Li Cha: "No, no, no. What I mean is, if that is your requirement, I'm afraid your wife will need to come here with you."
Li Cha's inner thought: *Big brother, stop talking. If anyone else asks, I can even testify for you that your wife was your first love and you've never touched another woman in your life!*
"No problem, Dr. Li Cha, please wait a moment."
Ram had come prepared today. His wife, Lisa, was drinking coffee just a few hundred meters away. Less than ten minutes later, the couple was standing before Li Cha.
Dr. Li Cha took one look and thought, *Whoa.*
This family was the exact opposite of the Randolphs. The problem Ram needed to solve now was likely just how much of his wife's heart had already wandered outside their own garden walls.
