013: Kid, you’ve gone mad!
Page 1/3
Watching Li Cha endlessly flip through the pages, even Mary’s patience gradually wore thin over time. At that moment, the traitor Hutton spoke up: “Mary, is this the new recruit Freya brought in? Am I seeing things, or is this guy only level 3?”
Hutton sized Li Cha up and down. “Since when did MI6 become a place where just anyone can get in? Don’t tell me he’s some nobleman’s son, ha!”
Mary snapped, “Hutton, shut your mouth!”
Then she turned to Li Cha. “I brought you here today to interrogate prisoners. If you want to read all the interrogation records before starting your work, you’ll have to do it next door, slowly.”
Li Cha looked up and said seriously, “Yeah, that’s about right.”
Then he reached out to wrap his arm around Mary’s soft waist. “Hutton, huh? I guess I owe you thanks. Without your betrayal, a mere level 3 nobody like me wouldn’t have had a chance to join MI6.
And my dear Mary, the interrogation work was assigned to you, but you’re really not good at this kind of thing.”
Li Cha stopped there, wearing an expression of pride and self-satisfaction.
Indeed,
Mary was famously a spicy little firecracker within MI6.
Granted, by age, Mary was a mature chili pepper, but her reputation remained intact.
Capturing Mary would definitely be considered a major feat for MI6.
But it was an outsider who managed it?
What unsettled Hutton even more was Li Cha’s embrace; Mary’s first reaction was no reaction at all, only later did she show a slight struggle.
Clearly, this wasn’t the first time.
Mary’s body had already accepted this man who was good-looking but otherwise worthless.
“You pretty boy!” Hutton cursed.
Li Cha seemed not to hear and planted a kiss on Mary’s cheek.
“Damn it!”
The short-statured Hutton was utterly thrown off balance.
Mary said to Li Cha, “Enough now, this is work time, start the interrogation!”
Li Cha replied lightly and cheerfully, “Alright, alright.”
To be honest, Hutton wasn’t the only one caught off guard.
Mary herself felt a bit unsettled realizing her body did not reject Li Cha.
As a woman, this was not good news.
Even if this was likely just the first stage of Li Cha’s interrogation, Mary’s intuition warned her that this man beside her was quickly changing since joining MI6 — and she was in danger.
Opposite them,
Hutton was still in a rage of helpless fury, but couldn’t move an inch.
Holding the interrogation records, Li Cha said slowly, “Mr. Hutton, your usual hobby is gambling. Although your salary isn’t small, over the years you haven’t saved much and sometimes even owe money.”
Page 2/3
Hutton snarled, “Kid, forget it. I won’t give you any information.”
Li Cha ignored him and continued, “At times like this, a sum of money is important to you. It’d be even better with a beautiful woman.
That probably happened about half a year ago.”
Hutton scoffed, “Heh, that’s all stuff I’ve already said.”
Li Cha suddenly leaned closer. “So, who is your backer inside MI6?”
The question was abrupt, starkly contrasting with his previous gentle tone, and was something Hutton had never heard before.
His mind involuntarily raced to consider the question, a certain figure flashing through his thoughts.
In reality, Hutton momentarily blanked, his pupils contracting sharply.
Li Cha turned to Mary and shrugged: “Interrogation’s done. He has a backer inside MI6.”
“!!!”
“!!!”
Mary hadn’t expected Li Cha to dawdle so long, yet when it came to business, he was surprisingly efficient.
Hutton indeed had other allies within MI6.
This wasn’t nonsense.
Mary had witnessed the scene herself.
Judging by Hutton’s reaction, even if he didn’t have a backer, he still had comrades who hadn’t been exposed.
“Wait here!”
Mary said, then turned and left.
Elsewhere,
The short-statured Hutton was again falling apart inside.
He had been a MI6 captain, a veteran intelligence officer, professionally trained.
It was unimaginable that Hutton had been outwitted by a newcomer!
“Bastard, I’m going to kill you!”
Li Cha replied, “You can’t kill me. If anything, it’d be easy for me to kill you.”
“Come if you dare! If you don’t kill me, you’re not a man!!!”
The chains in the cell rattled loudly as Hutton struggled.
Li Cha said, “Don’t rush.
I just joined MI6 and don’t fully understand the complex relationships inside.
You’re Shock’s brother, and Shock is Mary’s husband in name.
If I kill you, it won’t be good for either Mary or me.”
“I spit on you!”
A mouthful of bloodied phlegm flew toward him.
Though only level 3, Li Cha handled the biological attack without trouble.
The attack missed.

Li Cha found a chair and sat down. “Actually, I find you quite likeable. You’re the stepping stone for me to establish myself in MI6.
But don’t worry, to thank you, I’ll help you get revenge someday.
For now, whether you cooperate or not, I have to help my Mary and uproot all the grasshoppers connected to you.”
Just then,
The locked cell door opened again, and Mary entered with the short-statured officer Falken.
Falken glanced at the heavily breathing Hutton and turned to Li Cha. “Are you sure he has allies inside MI6?”
Li Cha said, “It’s the goddess’s guidance.”
Falken retorted, “Don’t give me that nonsense. Just say yes or no.”
Li Cha: “Yes.”
Falken then produced a list of names.
Some were indeed internal MI6 personnel; others were not.
Mary’s first step after leaving was naturally to report to their superior Freya.
Actually, the interrogation task could be declared successfully completed at this point.
Li Cha had proven his astounding talent in dealing with people.
If well managed, such a person, striking unexpectedly, might well become a trump card.
But Freya said since Li Cha had found clues, he should keep digging.
In recent months, MI6’s failure rate in critical operations had reached 50%.
Putting external reasons aside, if internal threats were not completely eliminated, it wouldn’t be long before Freya’s position as chief was in jeopardy.
Her failures would become a major blemish on her record.
It was precisely for this reason that Li Cha’s appearance piqued her interest.
...
Inside the cell,
Li Cha reviewed over a hundred names, then passed the slips one by one for Hutton to see.
Hutton’s expression shifted from calm to indifferent, then he simply closed his eyes and refused to look.
A round was complete.
Li Cha pulled out one slip and said, “It’s this person.”
The short-statured Falken asked, “Mirage?”
Hutton was shocked!!!
He showed no reaction to the name at all.
Falken was equally stunned. “It really is! Kid, you’re incredible!”
