Chapter 41: Warrior's Ring, A Treasure!
Among the weapons provided as ranking rewards, Cheng Jianyong chose a Fine-quality Gravel Greatsword, while Shen Yun selected a Crystal Hammer. Both had decent stats, but they required level 6 to be equipped.
Next were the Silver Treasure Chests. The rewards within Silver Chests far exceeded those of Bronze Chests, and obtaining them at this stage was extremely difficult. Every Silver Chest was typically guarded by powerful monsters; unless one was truly lucky—a "Chosen One"—it was nearly impossible to find an unguarded Silver Chest on an unexplored floating island. Aside from large quantities of high-end materials like Mithril, Spirit Cores, and Blood of the Strong, Silver Chests were guaranteed to yield at least one piece of Blue-tier equipment, with a small chance for secret medicine formulas or Blue-tier equipment blueprints.
The two opened their chests with excitement. A moment later, Cheng Jianyong shouted in exhilaration, "Holy crap! A Warrior’s Ring blueprint, Blue-tier!"
"Oh?" Han Xing asked, surprised. "A Blue-tier ring? You're that lucky?"
Cheng Jianyong laughed excitedly, "Hahaha, I knew I was a Chosen One!" Then, his tone shifted to disappointment. "Too bad, though, it’s a level 6 blueprint."
Han Xing replied, "Level 6? That’s not bad. Everyone will be able to equip it in a level or two, and level 6 Blue-tier gear will have much better stats than anything below level 5!"
At that moment, Shen Yun said dejectedly, "Damn, I got a piece of level 6 light armor leggings, also Blue-tier. My Cleric class needs heavy armor. Looks like I have to give it to Cheng Jianyong again!"
"Light armor? Hurry up and send it over, Xiao Yun!" Cheng Jianyong yelled excitedly.
Shen Yun reluctantly initiated the trade. A moment later, he continued, "Brother Xing, there’s also an optional Advanced Class Scroll. Which class should we choose for advancement? Do you have any suggestions?" Before making choices, they now instinctively consulted Han Xing. Though they didn't know why, they always felt that Han Xing understood the mechanics of this world better than they did.
After a moment of thought, Han Xing said, "According to the game introduction, the Cleric's advanced classes are Priest and Knight. The former leans toward healing and support, with weak combat capability. The latter leans toward defense and melee, offering more self-preservation than the Priest. Both have their pros and cons."
Shen Yun replied without hesitation, "Alright, then I’ll choose Priest."
Han Xing was somewhat surprised. "Are you sure? A Priest’s combat ability isn't strong. The system says it’s a class that relies heavily on teammates in the early stages, and only after the third advancement to become a Bishop do they gain a few offensive skills."
Shen Yun answered firmly, "I’ve thought it through. I’ll choose Priest. Anyway, we’ll have Cheng Jianyong for melee and you for ranged, Brother Xing. I’ll just act as support on the sidelines."
Han Xing pondered for a moment and stopped trying to persuade him. He knew this was a choice Shen Yun had made for their collective development.
At that point, Cheng Jianyong asked, "Brother Xing, what should I pick? Swordsman or Berserker?"
Han Xing replied dryly, "What's the point of choosing between those muscle-head classes? They're basically the same anyway."
"Damn, you're looking down on muscle-head classes? This is outrageous, when will muscle-heads finally get their time to shine?!" Cheng Jianyong exclaimed dramatically. The next moment, he sent a trade request to Han Xing.
Han Xing accepted the trade, receiving the Blue-tier ring blueprint.
[You have obtained Warrior's Ring Blueprint (Blue) Lv6. Do you wish to learn it?]
Han Xing clicked to learn. Finally, the first Blue-tier equipment blueprint appeared in his crafting list. He checked the requirements:
[Materials needed for Warrior's Ring: Mithril x10, Spirit Core x50, Rare Earth x100, Power Crystal x10.]
[Success rate: 15% (Influenced by the 'God-tier Artisan' talent, success rate has reached 100%).]
"It needs that much Mithril?" Han Xing walked to the storage crates and checked his stock. The other materials were sufficient, but he only had 7 units of Mithril left—not enough to craft a single ring.
He asked in the group chat, "How much Mithril did you two get from the Silver Chests? Trade them to me; I don't have enough to craft the Warrior's Ring."
"I have 13 pieces here."
"I have 16."
Hearing this, they immediately sent trade requests. Han Xing received a total of 29 pieces of Mithril, which, combined with his own, was just enough to craft three Warrior's Rings. This was thanks to the 100% success rate granted by his 'God-tier Artisan' talent. For other survivors, a 15% success rate would have been enough to make them question their sanity, especially since materials were not refunded upon failure. The loss would be something the average person could not afford.
Han Xing had no such concerns. He clicked to craft, and a dazzling blue light erupted. A 60-second progress bar appeared. When it finished, a silver-white ring dropped to the ground.
Han Xing checked the ring's stats:
[Warrior's Ring (Blue), Quality-Rare, Strength +12, Special Effect-Warrior's Soul]
[Warrior's Soul: Gain an additional 6 Strength when entering combat.]
[Equip Requirement: Lv6]
"All... Strength? The stats on this ring are certainly pure," Han Xing couldn't help but remark. "But the boost to Strength is massive!"
One piece of equipment added 12 Strength, and with the special effect, it was essentially a 18-point boost. Even for a Hunter, that would increase attack power by 36 points—comparable to the boost from a main weapon! If given to a Strength-based class like Cheng Jianyong, the benefit would be even more absurd.
"This is quite powerful!" Han Xing marveled, then proceeded to craft the other two. The second was also of Rare quality with similar stats. But when he crafted the third, he noticed a difference. The blue light that erupted was several times more dazzling than before.
"It can't be..." Han Xing said with a touch of excitement. He checked the ring's stats:
[Warrior's Ring (Blue), Quality-Treasured, Strength +18, Special Effect-Warrior's Soul]
"Holy crap, Treasured quality!" Han Xing was astonished. This was his first time crafting a piece of gear with Treasured quality. In the Floating Island Paradise, gear quality was divided into eight levels: Rough, Normal, Fine, Rare, Treasured, Legendary, Epic, and Mythic. Typical Green-tier gear was usually Normal, occasionally Fine, with Rare being the ceiling. Blue-tier gear was generally Fine or Rare, with Treasured being the limit.
Generally, if other survivors could craft a Rare-quality item from a Blue-tier blueprint, they would be incredibly lucky. Yet Han Xing’s 'God-tier Artisan' talent had easily produced a Treasured item! Compared to the Rare quality, the stats were significantly enhanced. This single Treasured ring provided Han Xing with nearly a 15% increase in attack power!
