As Han Xing glanced at the chat channel messages, a faint smile curled at the corner of his lips. Indeed, human adaptability was remarkable; after just one day, everyone had more or less accepted the reality of being in an entirely new world.

He closed the local network and, weariness washing over him in the warmth of his surroundings, Han Xing soon fell into a deep sleep.

But before long, he was abruptly awakened by a message from a friend.

It was from Shen Yun.

Shen Yun: "Brother Xing, are you asleep?"

Han Xing replied, "Hmm, just fell asleep not long ago."

There was a hint of awkwardness in Shen Yun’s next message. "Sorry to bother you, Brother Xing."

Han Xing laughed and teased, "What’s there to be sorry about? You guys used to keep me up all the time back in the dorm."

Shen Yun chuckled, "That’s true. But I think you’ve disturbed my sleep even more, haven’t you?"

"Really? I’ve already forgotten—ha!" Han Xing quickly changed the subject. "What’s up?"

"Nothing much, just found something I wanted to show you," Shen Yun said excitedly.

Han Xing’s curiosity was piqued; a message this late at night meant it had to be something good.

Shen Yun sent a trade request immediately.

Han Xing saw he had placed a white book on the trade window, with the words "Double Arrow" printed on the cover.

“A skill book!” Han Xing recognized it instantly, his heart pounding with excitement.

"Yes, it’s for the Hunter class. I thought you might find it useful," Shen Yun said with a cheerful tone.

Han Xing fell silent for a moment.

At this stage, skill books were far rarer than equipment or blueprints. Though these were only basic skills for the five major classes, everyone so far only knew simple weapon handling and basic slashing motions during combat.

One skill book was even more valuable than his space backpack.

"Brother Xing, take it quickly," Shen Yun urged and confirmed the trade.

Han Xing accepted, completing the transaction.

[Acquired skill book: Double Arrow (Hunter Exclusive)]

"Thank you," Han Xing said solemnly.

With this skill, his strength would rise to a whole new level.

"No need to thank me. Didn’t you give me a backpack too?" Shen Yun replied.

Han Xing remained silent, knowing Shen Yun’s nature well. When he accepted something from others, he might not say it aloud, but he kept it in his heart and would return the favor as soon as he was able.

It wasn’t cold calculation but a principle of fairness—true brothers keep clear accounts; no relationship should be one-sided.

This was also why Han Xing was willing to be friends with them, including Cheng Jian Yong.

At that moment, Han Xing said, "It’s late; you should get some rest."

Shen Yun laughed, "Brother Xing, I want to sleep, but I just can’t!"

"Can’t sleep?" Han Xing asked, puzzled.

"Yeah," Shen Yun admitted, a little embarrassed. "I’m just too excited! I never imagined the day would come when I could break free from repetitive work and dull life, just like I always dreamed—starting fresh in another world."

"Brother Xing, maybe you think I’m a bit crazy, but that’s my true feeling."

"This world might be unsafe, even life-threatening at any moment, but only now do I feel truly alive..."

After ending his chat with Shen Yun, Han Xing returned to sleep.

...

The next day.

When Han Xing opened his eyes, the sun was already high in the sky.

Judging by Earth’s time, it must be past ten o’clock.

Suddenly, he understood what Shen Yun meant.

Since entering society, had he ever slept in and woken up naturally like this?

Every day was a rude awakening by an alarm clock, and even holidays were interrupted by calls from clients and bosses.

Just as Han Xing was reflecting, his expression suddenly changed.

"Damn, I need to go!"

The first thing every morning was to relieve himself—Han Xing’s habit to keep healthy.

He quickly got up and searched around the floating island for a suitable spot but found none.

His face flushed red with urgency.

"Damn it, no choice—here will have to do!"

Han Xing dug a hole at the edge of the territory.

After a moment, he sighed in relief...

Having taken care of this top priority, Han Xing patted his hands and stood up.

Then, a system notification appeared.

[Fertilization successful. This plot of land will now provide more nutrients for crops.]

"???"

Han Xing’s face was full of question marks.

Damn, even fertilizing?

He shook his head and decided not to bother with these minor details.

Because now, he had another pressing matter to attend to.

Eating.

After a whole day of eating berries yesterday, his mouth was nearly numb with blandness. He desperately wanted some meat.

So Han Xing took out two flint stones and two pieces of wood.

With a sharp strike, sparks flew onto the wood, igniting it in no time.

At the center of his territory, Han Xing built a campfire, continuously adding wood.

As the fire grew stronger, he pulled out a small piece of wolf meat from his backpack, skewered it on an arrow, and held it over the flames to roast.

After ten minutes, the aroma of roasted meat spread through the air.

Once the wolf meat turned a crispy golden brown, with oil seeping from its surface, Han Xing wrapped the end of the arrow in a piece of animal hide and took the meat off the skewer.

The rich scent filled his nostrils, and he took a deep breath.

“Ah! Smells amazing!”

He began to feast heartily.

The wolf meat was tough; every bite required a long chew before swallowing.

At that moment, Han Xing wished he had some seasoning.

After finishing the first piece, he grabbed several iron arrows to continue roasting more meat.

As he cooked, he opened the regional channel, where hundreds of private messages flooded in.

He had listed three items on the trading channel: a wooden longbow, a fine-quality refined iron longbow, and a space backpack.

Each was incredibly valuable at this stage, attracting many survivors.

He casually browsed a few messages.

“Brother, will you sell the space backpack? I’ll trade fertile soil for it.”

“Master, can I exchange one unit of water for the refined iron longbow?”

“Hey, could you gift me the space backpack...?”

...

After scanning through the offers, Han Xing was speechless.

So far, none of the offers were appealing enough.

Understandable, since it was only the second day.

Shaking his head, Han Xing doused the campfire and slung the longbow over his back.

“This area’s cloud has been explored thoroughly. Today, I’ll venture further.”

Han Xing guided his territory forward slowly.

An hour later.

Ahead appeared a cloud as big as a car, roughly eight cubic meters in volume.

As the system prompt appeared, Han Xing clicked to enter.

The cloud dissipated, revealing a field of golden wheat, growing robustly.

“Wheat?”

Han Xing steered his territory closer and harvested all the wheat on those eight plots.

[Acquired wheat x67, wheat seeds x14]

“Seeds too?” Han Xing exclaimed. “Does this mean I can start farming now?”
