Chapter 37: A Detailed Exposition of the Genesis Stone
Karna could not help but recall the rules essential for utilizing the "Genesis Stone."
The Genesis Stone represents the administrative authority of this world. Using such a stone allows one to alter the rules of reality itself. It can "create" something from nothing, "remodel" according to one's imagination, and "destroy" while ignoring all constraints.
According to the oldest legends and the verified information disclosed within the game's lore, "Magic" was the earliest transcendental power to be popularized, originating from a complete Genesis Stone. Now, magic has long since integrated into the world, becoming as ubiquitous as the air we breathe. The fact that magic is so versatile and pervasive is not the work of a single Genesis Stone. Statistical research indicates that a total of three complete Genesis Stones were used to establish the fundamental framework of magic's essence. In the countless years that followed, many others used Genesis Stones to "remodel" upon the existing foundation of magic. Therefore, it is impossible to determine exactly how many Genesis Stones have "created" or "modified" the current magical system.
In the game, Genesis Stones are generally classified into three types based on their quality, with vast differences in their effects and the scale of the impact they can cause.
**Genesis Stone Fragment (Small):**
These appear within the bodies of sentient beings. They can alter the form of a single individual, transforming them into a genius in a broad sense—such as a prodigy in swordsmanship, magic, or alchemy. With targeted use, they can bestow special talents upon a single being, such as the ability to freely manipulate fire, control the earth beneath one's feet, or soar through the sky with ease—abilities akin to superpowers. Beyond living beings, they can, of course, be used on inanimate objects to create "legendary" items or weapons that leave their mark on history. Generally speaking, however, these smallest fragments are singular in nature and can only be used on one entity at a time.
**Genesis Stone Shard (Large):**
These do not appear within the bodies of sentient beings. They can expand the changes caused by the aforementioned fragments to multiple entities, effectively altering an entire species. There have been many such instances throughout history. For example, it is confirmed in the game that the "Children of the Sea" are a race that utilized this type of Genesis Stone. The Rat-folk are also suspected to have used a large Genesis Stone shard. It is a known fact that not only sentient beings can use Genesis Stones; any creature in this world is capable of it, though the emotions and willpower of sentient beings make them easier to catalyze.
**Genesis Stone (Complete):**
These do not appear within the bodies of sentient beings. They possess the true power to alter the rules of the world. Used on life, they can create the perfect species; used on objects, they can craft perfect items; used on nature, they can create changes according to one's will. They are, in the truest sense, "wish-granting stones." Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, and a series of other powerful races have all utilized the Genesis Stone. Among them, the Elves have even used multiple stones. Unlike in other works, Elves have always held a dominant position in this world; the only reason they haven't conquered it is that their population is simply too small. Naturally, humans remain the most numerous. Although many races refuse to acknowledge it, one fact remains certain: the vast majority of humanoid races were transformed from humans using the Genesis Stone, including the Elves. Humanoids have always held absolute dominance in this world. Scholars categorize sentient races into two major groups: Humanoids and Non-humans. As the names suggest, Humanoids are those transformed from humans using the Genesis Stone, while Non-humans are those transformed from non-human origins. Many refuse to admit this, but it is the truth.
Having learned so much about the Genesis Stone, the most useful piece of information—and a technique Karna must employ—is that while "remodeling" is less effective than "creating," it consumes far less power. A simple example is the cheat Karna is currently using: "Datafication." He has not only semi-datafied himself but also gained the ability to datafy his weapons. The issue is that a "Genesis Stone Fragment (Small)" can only change one aspect of a single entity. Datafying his body and datafying his weapons are two distinct abilities, which, logically, should require two fragments.
However, based on Karna's research, his understanding of the Genesis Stone from the game, and comprehensive strategies found in various forums, he arrived at a conclusion: whether it is his body or his weapon, what Karna has bestowed upon himself is the ability of "Datafication." Datafication is inherently a form of "remodeling" applied to an existing object; it adds something extra while preserving the object's original capabilities. This holds true for both his body and his weapons.
Such techniques exist in this world. For instance, the ability to freely control fire is actually based on the pre-existing foundations of "Magic" and "Fire Elements." That is why a single small fragment can allow someone to manipulate fire with ease—and if they were to train specifically in magical fire elements, it would be like a fish taking to water. Karna’s "Datafication" is a similar phenomenon. This is also why, after magic became a systematic transcendental power, many people spontaneously used the Genesis Stone to "add bricks and mortar" to it.
Looking at the Genesis Stone fragment in his hand, Karna organized his thoughts. There were many options, and he prioritized them based on what a single fragment could achieve:
1. **Experience Bar:** Undoubtedly the most critical priority, as it allows for rapid growth. Since things like experience stones exist, it is logically impossible for an experience bar not to be achievable.
2. **Skills:** Also a very high priority. Learning a skill in the real world is notoriously difficult, requiring vast amounts of time and effort. Once a skill is created, however, one can learn a standard "template" in the fastest way possible. With such a template, he believes skills in the real world will also become more flexible.
3. **Drops**
4. **Dungeons**
Karna deemed these last two impossible to achieve with a single fragment, so he put them aside for the moment.
"Well then, let's start with the experience bar."
