Chapter 58: Something's Not Right Here. Weren't We the Ones Who Just Got Completely Wiped Out?
"Bang—!"
Jiejie ran straight into the second bullet fired by Jhin. The Jarvan IV, already low on health, instantly crashed to the ground.
Inside the FPX team comms, Jiejie's heart trembled violently, his tone somewhat bewildered: "Is this really that accurate?"
"Who's saying it isn't?" In-game, LWX was completely numb from the laning phase. "This guy didn't miss a single W skill the entire time we were laning in the bot lane."
"He's definitely a one-trick Jhin god. Lu Zilang has at least ten thousand games on Jhin!" LWX said with absolute certainty.
Doinb felt a bit wronged: "His ultimate only has four bullets in total, why did the first shot have to hit me?!"
"Probably because you're handsome," support Crisp chimed in. The very next second, a crisp "bang" echoed out as the Alistar, currently channeling his recall, was directly blown up right on the spot.
"I guess I'm quite handsome too."
Crisp was helpless. At this point, the entire FPX roster didn't dare run around blindly anymore. Abandoning any thoughts of gambling against the opposing Jhin's accuracy, they simply chose to channel their recalls right where they stood.
At the caster desk, Miller's emotions surged, his voice raised by several decibels:
"Three bullets have already taken down FPX's mid laner Malzahar, jungler Jarvan IV, and support Alistar! Who will be the final lucky one?!"
"Lu Zilang's Jhin is simply terrifying. If I remember correctly, from the start of this game until now, his W skill, Deadly Flourish, has a 100% hit rate! His R skill, Curtain Call, also boasts a 100% hit rate!!"
Ever since Lu Zilang secured First Blood at the start of the match, WaWa had been riding a high, his tone exceptionally excited and elevated: "FPX doesn't even dare to gamble on Lu Zilang's Jhin accuracy anymore!"
"They've even given up on trying to escape, opting instead to channel their recalls right in place, because at this moment, only the fountain is the safest place!!"
Teacher Tan was equally thrilled: "With this Jhin, Lu Zilang has perfectly illustrated what a 98K headshot looks like! Who will he give the final bullet to?!"
On the match screen.
Lu Zilang had already released his fourth bullet—"bang," with a crisp and impactful sound effect, the ADC LWX collapsed to the floor as well.
With this, four members of FPX had fallen, leaving only top laner Gimbg0od's Gangplank behind.
Seeing all his teammates dead, GimGoon wanted nothing more than to post a black question mark in real life.
GimGoon: "???"
You look down on me, right? You killed the support, yet you deliberately left me out. Why didn't you save a single bullet for me?
Doinb turned his head to glance at GimGoon's somewhat complicated expression, subconsciously letting out: "How awkward."
"GimGoon, this Jhin can't kill you anymore; you can farm up a bit and cut your losses as much as possible," Jiejie suggested.
Ten thousand imaginary profanities stampeded through GimGoon's mind as he felt utterly aggrieved. Could it be because he had taken the counter-pick yet failed to beat Jax?
Witnessing this scene at the caster desk, Miller, WaWa, and Teacher Tan exchanged glances, unsure of what to say, their expressions tinged with mild embarrassment.
It was somewhat disheartening, wasn't it?
From the observer perspective, GimGoon was well within Jhin's ultimate range and was actually positioned quite near the front.
Logically speaking, the first bullet should have gone to him. Why give it to the support instead of him?
Human nature is often like that—there is always a tiny bit of... pride deep within our bones.
In the live stream chat, viewers seeing this couldn't help but feel a shred of sympathy for GimGoon:
"Even so, GimGoon picked Gangplank this game and got utterly suppressed by 369's Jax starting from level 1. But... I feel like basic respect should still be given, right?"
"Indeed, zero damage dealt, maximum emotional damage. Poor GimGoon, send him a hug."
"Tsk tsk tsk, GimGoon is so pitiful this wave. Everyone else is wiped out, and he's the only one completely unscathed."
"???? What the hell are you guys talking about?? Shouldn't GimGoon be celebrating?"
"I think Falcon-哥 probably thought wasting a bullet on GimGoon would be a waste. After all, isn't killing the support way better? His Gangplank performance this game was indeed quite tragic."
"Begging for the size of GimGoon's psychological shadow area."
As the audience discussed passionately, the director deliberately manufactured some entertainment value by switching the observer perspective to GimGoon's Gangplank as he channeled his recall, even zooming in on a close-up of his face.
Well, now the barrage messages multiplied even further:
"The poor little guy!"
"369's temperament is truly fierce, even as a rookie. GimGoon's Gangplank is at least a signature champion, and look at the result? Anyone not knowing better would think Jax hard-counters Gangplank!"
"I bet FPX will never hand GimGoon a counter-pick in the next game."
"Coin Bro should be the one taking the counter-pick instead. Did you guys notice, that old rascal looks like he's holding back laughter right now."
"Is the LPL this year too interesting? From the director and casters to the players—they bring the hype when it's time to be hyping, and deliver the comedic value when it's time for entertainment."
"I can only say FPX is gradually LGD-ifying. (Dog head) Saving my life."
Yet in the very next second, after ending his ultimate ability, Jhin on the screen raised his sniper rifle once more—Lu Zilang fired his W skill, Deadly Flourish!
"Whoosh—!!" Witnessing this, the awkwardness at the caster desk vanished instantly as Miller grew hyped once more: "So that's how it is!"
"We can always trust Lu Zilang's tactical brilliance. He will never let us down!!"
"From the very moment he raised his rifle for the ultimate, FPX's fate was already sealed."
"His control of timing and his understanding of the champions are simply too terrifying!!"
As Miller spoke, Jhin's W skill struck Gangplank dead-on during the final second before his recall completed.
"Penta Kill!!" A crisp notification echoed across Summoner's Rift, and the entire venue erupted in an instant.
Countless audience members stood up from their seats, waving their arms and roaring passionately at the top of their lungs:
"Lu Zilang—awesome!!! EDG awesome!! Holy cow!"
Deafening shouts reverberated through the entire e-sports arena, as if trying to blow the roof right off the building.
This Penta Kill!
Beyond expectations!
This Penta Kill!
Already predestined!
The live audience, the casters, and the viewers in the live stream had all fallen into a preconception.
EDG had five members at low health, but Jhin's ultimate only possessed four bullets, meaning Jhin could—at best, stretching his limits—only secure a Quadra Kill.
"Deadly Flourish! What an absolute masterpiece of a Deadly Flourish! I just said Lu Zilang's W skill also had a 100% accuracy rate, but I never expected him to release it right here."
"The timing was calculated to absolute perfection, simply brilliant. With GimGoon positioned so close, using the ultimate to kill him was indeed unnecessary, and it would have dragged things out much longer!"
Looking at his gray screen, GimGoon had felt aggrieved just moments ago, but now his mind felt thoroughly enlightened: "The respect was delivered after all!"
Doinb smacked his lips: "Something feels a bit off though, didn't we just get aced?"

A thousand words crowd my mind right now. The author is clumsy with words and not great at writing sappy speeches.
