Chapter Forty-Two: Ge Xiaolun’s Deal
"Well..."
Hearing Ge Xiaolun's question, Ryze was somewhat surprised, but after a moment of thought, he replied, "A God of War with such a peak stellar-beast body naturally cannot be compared to a standard set of third-generation divine body materials.
What a purely standard set of third-generation divine body materials can forge is merely a third-generation god without any special abilities.
As for your Indomitable Body, Xiaolun, or Leona's Solar Divine Body, they require many more precious materials to forge.
Let alone your Galaxy Power, Xiaolun, and Leona's Solar Light; even trading dozens of sets of third-generation divine body materials wouldn't be enough."
A comparable analogy would actually be the second-generation Spear of Duxing, the second-generation Heart of Earth, and the second-generation Time-Space Rose.
Even setting aside the painstaking effort, human and material resources, and time the Super Academy poured into them, the rare materials involved just in forging the Spear of Duxing alone were worth dozens of times more than a set of second-generation divine body materials.
Not to mention the Heart of Earth belonging to the Shield of Light royal family, and the Time-Space Rose into which countless space-time genes were poured.
Although divine body materials and certain rare genetic resources are parallel categories and hard to compare horizontally, that is generally how it stands.
Because some advanced resources are inherently scarce in the universe—they are priceless and unavailable on the market, or rather, neither available nor measurable by price.
"If we must make a comparison, based on my insight, the total resources of this peak stellar-beast body are roughly equivalent to about 1.5 times a standard set of third-generation divine body materials."
Ryze stroked his beard and continued, "Furthermore, the forging of third-generation and higher divine bodies requires a celestial-class computer, using a celestial body like a star as an energy source, to provide massive computational power to forge the third-generation divine body atoms, write the divine body programs, and encapsulate the genetic information."
While suppressing Suoton with his sword, Ge Xiaolun nodded in understanding.
Aside from the approximate multiplier given by Teacher Ryze, which made things a bit clearer for him, the rest was pretty much in line with what he already knew.
"Then can we use some special means to completely decompose the resources on Suoton's body and then reuse them?" He thought for a moment, then looked at Ryze and asked.
As soon as these words fell, however, the expressions of Ryze, Du Kaohao, and the others changed involuntarily, and Leona even frowned subconsciously.
The atmosphere instantly grew somewhat silent.
Aside from Su Xiaoli and Qi Lin, who were clueless about the implications, Ryze and the others looked at Ge Xiaolun with gazes that, while devoid of any malice, seemed rather complex and hesitant.
Ge Xiaolun naturally sensed the shift among the group, nodded inwardly, and realized his prediction had been correct.
"It is possible, though it would take some time and result in a minor loss of material."
A few seconds later, Ryze nodded first.
However, he quickly looked at Ge Xiaolun with profound meaning, speaking earnestly: "But Xiaolun, Teacher must tell you this...
In the world of gods and super warriors, the practice of deliberately decomposing materials from the bodies of gods and super warriors for reuse is generally viewed as a dark or evil act.
Although even among benevolent civilizations, especially in times of war, such practices cannot be said to never occur, it is at least not something that can be brought out into the open.
Suoton may be a beast, but in the world of gods, he is also a god.
And you, Xiaolun, you are the Galaxy Power after all. Do you understand?"
He glanced at those present, then looked deeply at Ge Xiaolun, hoping the latter would grasp his meaning.
"I roughly understand."
Ge Xiaolun nodded gently; of course he understood their meaning.
And had he not been aware of this, he would not have deliberately asked this question and led Teacher Ryze to explain so much.
To put it bluntly, he is the Galaxy Power.
He is the Galaxy Power upon whom the River of Gods civilization, the Angel civilization, the planet Duwen, and now Earth—these benevolent civilizations—have pinned their lofty hopes.
In the past, or in the present.
Legends of the Galaxy Power cutting through fear and saving the world are circulated in many Divine River worlds.
Many gods' expectations are pinned upon him.
He is also virtually destined to be Earth's future sovereign god, the Galaxy's sovereign god, and perhaps even the future supreme god of the Divine River galaxy.
He does not have to be infinitely wise. He does not have to be faithful to love. He does not even have to be a moral paragon.
But none of them would wish for him to be evil, dark, or even a cannibal.
In the Super God universe, whether mortal or divine, beings are ultimately social animals.
And creatures mourn their own kind.
Perhaps he could not care less, juice Suoton directly, and use the materials on his own people.
Every time he captures a god in the future, he could juice them too.
Yet he would also have to bear the corresponding losses in other areas.
Tangible, or intangible.
"However, I don't give up on this possibility." Ge Xiaolun wasn't restricted by such reasoning; he looked calmly at the crowd. "This big crocodile previously exhibited the habit of feeding on humans, and perhaps it has eaten many people in the past. Even if I were to skin it and pull its tendons, it shouldn't count as evil."
"That is true." Ryze nodded.
It wasn't that he was dead-set on stopping Ge Xiaolun's idea of turning Suoton into raw materials; rather, during their first discussion on this subject, he had hoped to provide Ge Xiaolun with proper guidance.
Du Kaohao, Leona, and the others nodded. As long as Ge Xiaolun maintained correct values and wouldn't cultivate bad habits as a result, they had no objections.
"So, judging by your tone, Xiaolun, you don't intend to take the Crocodile God Suoton in as a pet?" Since things had come this far, Ryze naturally caught Ge Xiaolun's drift.
Leona looked curiously at Ge Xiaolun, as she herself had assumed Suoton would become Ge Xiaolun's pet.
Subconsciously, everyone had assumed so.
Because that was the normal logic of conduct in a transcendent world.
"Of course not."
Ge Xiaolun shook his head as a matter of course. "I have no time to waste on such a thick-headed beastly body."
Although that big crocodile's combat prowess was indeed extraordinary, and it was sometimes quite amusing.
From the very beginning, he had only regarded it as one or more sets of third-generation divine body materials.
Because he was well aware that this big crocodile had a rebellious bone in its head and a naturally cunning disposition, yet outside of its cunning, it was simple-minded.
To turn this big crocodile into a qualified subordinate, he would not only have to spend time figuring out how to completely control it and thoroughly screen for genetic backdoors.
He would also have to train it properly, teach it knowledge, correct its bad habits, develop its wings, and so on and so forth.
Just thinking about it was exhausting.
With that kind of effort, how much better it would be to use the materials on his own people.
His birth mother and father were still mortals, and his girlfriend was a fragile little thing.
Moreover, he was not short of subordinates; he was bound to have a group of subordinates who were both obedient and possessed great potential.
For all these reasons, he had no need to keep Suoton.
"That... is true indeed!"
At this, Ryze also had an epiphany and nodded, then subconsciously glanced at Du Qiangwei beside him, his eyes instantly lighting up.
In this regard, he actually hadn't reacted as quickly as Xiaolun.
Du Kaohao and Lian Feng evidently thought of something as well, both unable to help looking at Du Qiangwei, their gazes suddenly glowing frightfully!
Du Qiangwei felt creeped out by their stares, failing to understand why they were suddenly looking at her like that.
"And Teacher Ryze, based on the materials I've read and what you just said."
At this moment, Ge Xiaolun ignored Du Qiangwei and continued to ask Ryze, "The forging of a third-generation divine body requires the assistance of a celestial-class computer, right? And our Earth doesn't seem to have that capability at present?"
"Oh? Xiaolun, you're asking about this..."
Ryze looked thoughtfully at Ge Xiaolun, then replied, "Indeed. Without the assistance of a celestial computer, relying solely on third-generation divine body resources, the most we can forge is a quasi-third-generation or pseudo-third-generation body.
It possesses some capabilities of a third-generation divine body—such as hardness, partial energy regulation, and partial recovery abilities—but lacks sufficient computational power."
As he spoke, he suddenly clicked his tongue. "It seems your reading hasn't been in vain, Xiaolun; you've learned so much so quickly."
He had suddenly realized that the words Ge Xiaolun was speaking now were distinctly different from yesterday's Xiaolun.
Previously, although Xiaolun's words were extraordinary, due to his lack of common-sense awareness, they were mostly macro-level guesses and deductions.
But now, every single sentence of his went straight to technical issues, and his words carried clear purpose.
"So what you mean, Xiaolun, is..." Du Kaohao couldn't help chiming in at this point.
Things having progressed to this stage, he naturally understood some of what Ge Xiaolun was implying.
Compared to a celestial computer, their calculations and energy regulation capabilities on Earth—their Nova III—were still far inferior.
And since Xiaolun had deliberately brought up celestial computers...
"So I wanted to ask Leona, this supreme goddess of Lieyang," Ge Xiaolun looked toward Leona beside him, "are you folks from Lieyang interested in making a deal with me?"
Leona's eyes flickered slightly. "Oh? A deal?"
Everyone present naturally began to focus their attention.
"I'd like to use Suoton—this powerful God of War, a peak stellar-beast body that should yield about 1.5 times standard third-generation divine body materials when torn apart—"
Ge Xiaolun looked at her with a smile. "—to trade with Lieyang for one standard set of third-generation divine body materials, two standard sets of second-generation divine body materials, one female third-generation genetic sample, and the computational and energy support required to forge a third-generation divine body once.
What do you think?"
