Chapter Three: This Time, There Might Be Surprises
Ge Xiaolun couldn't help but chuckle.
Although he had sensed this might happen the moment he decided to save the girl in pink, he still felt speechless when it actually unfolded before his eyes. Did most people really believe that good guys were meant to be held at gunpoint?
"Not convinced?"
In the next second, he stood up calmly and brushed off his clothes. "Whether you're convinced or not is none of my concern, and I have no interest in debating with ordinary people like you."
His movements were casual, his tone indifferent. Yet, to the surrounding police officers, his demeanor was chilling. They instinctively reached for their holsters, their bodies tensed in alarm. Even though Ge Xiaolun appeared to be an ordinary human, he now seemed to them like an unstoppable force of nature. After the recent events and the intelligence passed down from above, they had confirmed that Ge Xiaolun and Liu Chuang were certainly not ordinary.
Ge Xiaolun was well aware of their reaction, but he looked at the male officer before him with a detached expression. "I know some of you have connections to special departments, and perhaps they gave you instructions. Like... trying to take me down a peg or two. But don't bother with that nonsense."
As a fan of the *Super Seminary* series in his previous life, he had always found this trope distasteful. Especially given his real-world experiences, he had zero patience for it. He despised how people who performed righteous deeds were often met with pettiness and scrutiny, sometimes even ending up behind bars themselves. In his view, a hero deserved to be treated like a hero.
"It's getting late, and I should head back to sleep. Goodbye, or perhaps, farewell."
With that, Ge Xiaolun turned to leave.
"Stop right there! What do you think you're doing?!" The male officer, after a moment of stunned silence, shouted and instinctively drew his weapon. The other officers closed in on Ge Xiaolun.
"Xiaolun, don't..." Qi Lin said, her eyes filled with worry as she moved to intervene.
But in the next heartbeat, their bodies stiffened as if frozen. They stood rooted to the spot for a moment before collapsing to the ground, one after another.
Ge Xiaolun didn't even glance at the scene of chaos; he simply walked away with a leisurely stride.
"I can understand your fear, and you should be thankful that I'm a good person. But officers, the times have changed."
The fallen police officers stared in shock, their eyes wide with terror. Liu Chuang and the others, though not targeted, were so frightened they dared not even breathe, terrified of making a sound.
Ge Xiaolun ignored them entirely, walking past them and reaching the entrance of the hall. He looked up at the clear night sky, nodded in appreciation, and with a single movement, took flight directly into the heavens.
...
A moment later, in the vast starry night, Ge Xiaolun glided through the wind. Feeling a sense of freedom and exhilaration he had never known before, he nodded with satisfaction. As for the minor unpleasantness at the police station, he had already put it behind him. His primary goal tonight had been to save someone; he wouldn't waste another thought on trivial conflicts with mortals. As for the officers, he hadn't used any lethal force; they would wake up on their own soon enough.
"Activate Night-Walker Mode." As he flew, he focused his mind.
[Night-Walker Mode activated.]
Following the voice in his head, Ge Xiaolun’s form instantly dissolved into a shadow, blending seamlessly into the vast night, becoming virtually undetectable. It was as if any light shining upon him was swallowed whole by his body, never to escape.
"Hmm, not bad."
Looking at his pitch-black silhouette, a satisfied smile spread across Ge Xiaolun's face. Although he didn't have any traditional "cheats" or systems besides the Power of the Galaxy, his knowledge of the *Super Seminary* universe from both his past and present lives allowed him to develop several practical abilities in the few days since his awakening.
Today had been his first real test, and the results were encouraging. Whether it was suppressing the newly awakened Liu Chuang, handling the local mortals, or mastering flight and stealth, everything had met his expectations. This brought him great relief.
As a longtime fan, he remembered how excited he had been when he realized as a child that his name was Ge Xiaolun, his city was Juxia City, the capital of Daxia was North Star, and there was even a city called Tianhe City. Once he confirmed he had transmigrated into the world of *Super Seminary* as the sole male lead—the Power of the Galaxy—the feeling that destiny was in his hands had been intoxicating.
For over twenty years, he had lived for this moment of awakening. He had dreamed of being a hero who could soar through the skies and fight side-by-side with the goddesses of the Angel race. He had also vowed countless times that he would never be the cowardly, pathetic, desperate "simp" or deserter that the original character had been. If he had transmigrated just to end up as miserable as the original Ge Xiaolun, it would have all been for nothing. In the original story, everyone else was showing off their power while the people of Earth were just getting beaten up. The original Ge Xiaolun had been humiliated in every way, full of regrets and helplessness.
Sometimes, he would manage a moment of strength, only to be slapped down again immediately. In the end, he even went down with Hua Ye... That was certainly not the life Ge Xiaolun wanted.
He relied on his own Power of the Galaxy and his profound understanding of the plot. In the original story, the protagonist was often portrayed as a meat shield or cannon fodder before obtaining the Void Controller. His "Brain-Dead Cleave" ability was unreliable and often forgotten. But the current Ge Xiaolun knew that the original character's struggle was due to his own stupidity, a lack of guidance, and his failure to develop even the most basic functions of the Power of the Galaxy and anti-void capabilities.
Many who watched the series assumed the Power of the Galaxy had no combat effectiveness in the early stages, but Ge Xiaolun knew better.
"By now, the gods must have already started planning the future of Earth."
"Heh..."
In the clear night sky, Ge Xiaolun looked out at the stars and gazed down at the bustling city, streams of light flickering in his ink-black eyes. He knew that the war for Earth was on the horizon. Although there was still a brief period of peace, many powerful cosmic factions were about to descend upon the planet. He had not forgotten how these factions viewed the war, or how they used various means to carve up Earth, leaving it a living hell with massive casualties.
"Come, come, let them all come."
"But this time, there might be a few surprises..."
Ge Xiaolun curled his lips into a smile, feeling not nervous, but filled with anticipation.
"Oh? Received the intel already?"
He suddenly sensed something, instinctively looking toward the South China Sea, and raised an eyebrow. Realizing what it was, his smile widened.
...
"What? What do you mean Ge Xiaolun flew away?"
