Chapter Sixteen: Assistance? Ge Xiaolun lacked enthusiasm.
This matter left Angel Yan no room for panic. After all, over the years in the Angel Legion, she had driven with her sisters countless times, skilled enough to drift through both straight paths and curves like a seasoned veteran. Yet, she had never been the one being driven! And the person on the other side wielded the power of the galaxy. It wasn’t that the other party couldn’t drive, but that it simply couldn’t be done like this...
In an instant, her mind spun with countless thoughts, complex and overwhelming.
“Hm?”
Before she could thoroughly scan her divine form, as her snow-white hands just brushed against a grain of sand at her waist, her movement abruptly halted. A pair of phoenix eyes turned towards the handsome face mere inches away, gazing into those still tender yet guilty eyes, leaving her utterly speechless.
Two muffled chuckles whispered in her ears—one from the young god named Rose beside her in reality, the other from Queen Kaisha, who was connected remotely from the Celestial City.
“Yan, you actually got tricked by your future male deity on your very first meeting and lost already…”
“You scared me,” Angel Yan said expressionlessly, staring at Ge Xiaolun.
She had to admit, for a moment, she truly was startled. If not for the surrounding environment and Queen Kaisha’s assistance in quickly recalibrating her perception, she wouldn’t have known how embarrassing it was.
“You scared me first, okay?” Ge Xiaolun stopped pretending and smiled warmly at the breathtaking beauty so close to him.
“I was just… cough cough, greeting you,” Angel Yan retorted, still catching her breath as she recovered her body.
Mentioning this made her a bit excited.
Just as she saw Ge Xiaolun soar into the sky, heading straight for her location, she instinctively devised a unique way to greet him.
Although she hadn’t yet given a clear answer to Queen Kaisha’s arrangements, nor deeply studied this young male deity, as an angel, she wished their first encounter to be a memorable scene—one that would never seem mundane whenever recalled in the many years to come.
Amidst the swirling mist of the cloud sea, the sunlight shone upon her holy wings and perfect form, radiating an enchanting glow.
Her first appearance, the young male deity’s first sight of such a beautiful being.
He was startled, but his eyes still betrayed an undeniable awe…
Their eyes met, and each deeply imprinted the other’s image in their hearts.
Such a scene would be unforgettable for a lifetime.
Yet, unexpectedly, what greeted her was the solid wall of a door.
She believed she would never forget this moment in her life.
“Is this how you angels greet people? You almost dove into my arms!” Ge Xiaolun laughed in disbelief. “Next time, why don’t you just crawl into my bed to say hello?”
He seriously wondered if Angel Yan’s mind was playing tricks on her. Her teacher was still alive—how could she be so out of sorts?
“Kid, are you confessing to me?” Unexpectedly, Angel Yan blinked coquettishly, full of charm.
“Go play somewhere else,” Ge Xiaolun snapped, no longer joking, casually dropping her to the ground and clapping his hands as he stood up.
After all, with Teacher Ruiz and Rose nearby, it wasn’t appropriate to flirt recklessly with the angel he was meeting for the first time.
“Tch, just now you said you’d take responsibility…” Angel Yan stood up, holding her slightly dizzy head, dusting off her clothes as she muttered.
“I wonder why Miss Angel Yan has come to Blue Star and suddenly appeared at our Super God Academy?” At this moment, the old man Ruiz, who had been quietly watching, finally spoke calmly, as if all previous misunderstandings never existed.
Ge Xiaolun stood aside, leaning on his void greatsword, watching Angel Yan tidy herself up. From time to time, he glanced at her breathtakingly beautiful face, then at her snow-white, slender legs, nodding with quiet satisfaction.
“Of course, it’s for… help.”
Hearing this, Angel Yan lightly curled her lips, unsurprised that this deity of the Divine River recognized her.
As Queen Kaisha’s left-wing guardian, she had served for over three thousand years, with a warrior’s life spanning seven thousand years, already carving her legendary presence across the universe.
If the other party failed to recognize her, they deserved to have their eyes plucked out and used as stepping stones.
“Just say what help you need. We Blue Star people are warm-hearted. Judging by your delicate appearance, you must have run into some trouble.”
Ge Xiaolun leaned on his sword, idly clicking his tongue.
Though he wasn’t sure why this scene had come earlier than expected, knowing that such matters rarely yielded any results, he felt this wouldn’t be of much use to him now.
“Tsk~”
Angel Yan was nearly choked off, shooting him a playful glare. “Adults are speaking; children should keep quiet.”
Although they had just met, she could tell that this nascent galaxy power indeed had a bit of slyness.
“I’m here to ask if you Blue Star folks need any help, not to seek help from you.”
Angel Yan walked gracefully, circling around Ge Xiaolun’s tall figure, openly scrutinizing him.
Beside them, Rose suddenly had a strange feeling—that this peerlessly beautiful angel seemed more interested in Ge Xiaolun himself.
“Forgot to introduce myself.”
“My name is Yan, from the Angel Civilization, and I am the left-wing guardian beside Queen Kaisha.”
As she expected, after discussing business with Teacher Ruiz, she suddenly introduced herself to Ge Xiaolun, blinking frequently.
Speaking while circling him, she did not hide her gaze.
“I roughly understand your meaning, but as an old man, I never meddle in such matters. Xiaolun is still just a kid.”
Old man Ruiz saw this scene and didn’t react otherwise, leaning on his staff and speaking unhurriedly: “If Miss Angel Yan wants to discuss this, you’ll have to wait a bit for the proper person to come and talk to you.”
“That’s fine,” Angel Yan was not impatient.
Before negotiating with the Super God Academy, she had already expected that those discussing Blue Star affairs with her wouldn’t just be people from the Divine River or Blue Star.
They talked while Ge Xiaolun and Rose were naturally excluded, like children beside adults discussing serious matters.
This sight stirred some feelings in Ge Xiaolun’s heart, his gaze shifting subtly.
He could sense that Ruiz and Angel Yan weren’t intentionally ignoring him—they truly thought he was just a child, too young to understand.
Though he understood everything.
But he didn’t act impulsively; he had no pressing need to prove himself now.
Only a sense of boredom lingered.
“Teacher Ruiz, you guys talk first. I’m heading back to train with Rose,” Ge Xiaolun suddenly hoisted his sword, said goodbye to Ruiz, and turned to leave.
Rose quickly followed.
Angel Yan and Ruiz exchanged a slight look of surprise.
