Chapter 39: Dark Element, The Egg Corroded by Gatanothor

"This monster...?"

Camila held her light whip, her gaze unusually grave. The pressure emanating from Zetton surpassed any enemy she had ever known, save for the Lord of Darkness himself.

"Hitra, Darram, can you still stand?" Camila asked without looking back, her eyes fixed on Zetton, monitoring its every move.

"Big Sis, I can still fight!" Darram replied with difficulty, standing up while supporting his limp left arm with his right hand.

Hitra was buried deep within a distant mountain, with no signs of movement whatsoever. It seemed no one could help her now.

Their faction of Dark Giants had been divided for years, warring over humanity and dominance. They had crushed dim-witted Earth monsters like Tigris, Gilu, Golza, and Melba with ease. In the end, however, they had been treated like dogs by Gatanothor, the Lord of Darkness who had arrived on Earth for reasons unknown, forcing them into a humiliating self-imposed seal for who knows how many years.

And now, not only had they been rudely awakened, but they were being beaten again! Did they really think she, Camila, had no temper? Her position as the leader was not something earned through beauty alone.

Camila’s eyes flickered as she looked toward Lin Yu, Lucia, and the returning Masaki Keigo. In the ultra-ancient era, there were those capable of commanding monsters, and even Dark Giants. Her arch-nemesis, Yullian, was one such example. It seemed these individuals were the ones controlling these monsters!

"I’ll kill you all!"

Camila lashed out with her whip toward the trio.

"Gii-!"

A fireball erupted from Gilu’s abdomen, striking the whip and shattering her momentum.

"Zet-ton!"

Zetton vanished, reappearing behind Camila the next instant with a fist raised. Although Camila was stronger than Hitra and Darram, her superiority was limited. Since the others couldn't withstand Zetton’s strikes, neither could she!

"Hah!"

Camila dissolved, transforming into a sky full of dark particles. Zetton struck nothing but air.

Not far ahead of Lin Yu, Lucia, and Masaki Keigo, a girl appeared. She wore a long, pitch-black robe, her hair cascading over her shoulders. A silver bat ornament hung from her forehead, and a dark, beaded chain adorned her neck. Her expression was cold, and she held a light whip taller than herself. As she dragged it across the ground, the earth began to emit a scorched, acrid stench.

Having shrunk to human size and standing so close to Lin Yu and the others, the monsters found it difficult to strike. After all, high-level area-of-effect damage in a world without friendly-fire protection often led to catastrophic results.

"A human with ultra-ancient genes, an alien, and then... is that even a human?" Camila looked at the trio, a hint of confusion in her beautiful eyes.

The alien and the human were clearly Lucia and Masaki Keigo. As for the one whose humanity was in question, the answer was obvious.

Lin Yu’s face darkened. *Why are you asking that as a question? What else would I be if not human?* He knew it was his Ultra Telekinesis and Cosmic Fist style, combined with the lingering influence of the two monsters, that made it impossible for Camila to discern his species.

"Forget it, it doesn't matter." Camila spoke again. "We have no interest in continuing this fight. Let Hitra and Darram go, and we shall leave each other in peace."

Lin Yu looked at her with a peculiar expression. "Auntie, do you have any idea what the situation is?"

"I’m the one who knocked you down. Whether I finish you off or drag you back depends on my mood, not yours. I’m the one calling the shots here, understand?"

Camila didn't seem to hear him. "What did you call me?" She stared at Lin Yu with a dangerous glint in her eyes. No one had ever called her 'Auntie' before!

"Auntie, of course. You’ve been alive for over thirty million years, and I’m only in my twenties. If I don't call you Auntie, what should I call you?" Lin Yu raised an eyebrow, showing no intention of taking it back. "Oh, don't tell me you want me to call you Grandma?"

They weren't on a date, and he had no interest in maintaining gentlemanly manners toward a woman he had just met—who happened to be his enemy.

Lucia glanced secretly at Lin Yu, then at Camila, who looked to be about the same age as her. *The Captain certainly has a sharp tongue,* she thought.

"....Very well." Camila’s fists crunched, her white teeth gritted tight.

The next second, the light whip suddenly extended by over ten meters, lashing toward Lin Yu! The safety of the previous distance had vanished.

"Captain, look out!" Lucia’s pupils contracted as she lunged to block.

"Ultra Telekinesis!" A blue light flashed in Lin Yu’s eyes, his powerful telekinetic force stopping the whip dead in mid-air.

Camila narrowed her eyes, remaining silent, but continued to lash the whip with all her might. Her whip was formidable; if Zarab had been the same size, he would have been screaming in agony by now. Even so, not even Ultra Telekinesis could fully restrain her.

Lucia and Masaki Keigo charged forward. Masaki’s physique was stronger than that of an elite soldier, and Lucia was superhuman! But Camila merely glanced sideways, and the transcendent, ultra-ancient dark energy caused Masaki to freeze in place, unable to move. While Lucia wasn't completely paralyzed, she couldn't even perform a giant transformation, and her life level wasn't high enough to resist. Her movements slowed.

The next second, Camila kicked her in the chest with her high-heeled boot, sending her flying backward.

Lin Yu leaped several meters, catching Lucia. "Are you okay?"

"I... I'm fine, Captain. She’s very strong, be extremely careful!" Lucia winced in pain but managed to speak.

"I know." Lin Yu nodded gently.

Blue light pulsed incessantly in his eyes as he overloaded his Ultra Telekinesis, pressing down on Camila. The sudden increase in pressure caused her to frown. Before she could react, Lin Yu closed the distance at a speed that broke human limits, reaching her in two breaths. He struck with his fist without mercy!

Camila instinctively reached up to block, but a storm of attacks descended upon her. Her whip was kicked away by Lin Yu the moment they engaged.

Ten seconds later, Camila took a hand-chop to the neck from Lin Yu, her eyes rolled back, and she collapsed, unconscious.

"Big Sis!" Darram stood up, attempting to intervene.

Zetton appeared and struck once.

Darram also fell unconscious. A flash of dark light dissipated, and he reverted into an unconscious muscular man.

Nearby, the barrier created by the Dark Spark Lens finally shattered, and the device was plucked away by Eleking.

With this, all three Dark Giants in the pyramid had been defeated. The Dark Spark Lens, which had enticed the ancients to pursue it, was now in Lin Yu’s possession.
