Chapter 33: The Kyrieloid with the Broken Leg
"Bang!"
Black Giras was knocked back once again by a cannon-like punch from the Kyrieloid, followed by a barrage of hellfire bullets that left him reeling in defeat. It was clear that Black Giras alone was no match for the Kyrieloid. The creature, who had dared to lure Bemular here with the confidence to kill him, certainly possessed some formidable abilities.
"Kurang!"
Red Giras leaped out from the water behind, latching onto the Kyrieloid in a tight embrace. Using his brute strength, he rendered the Kyrieloid unable to move. Black Giras climbed to his feet, eager to seize the opportunity for a powerful counterattack.
However, the Kyrieloid demonstrated the same exceptional combat prowess that had once suppressed Tiga. Since he could not break free, he stopped trying. Abandoning the struggle, he fell backward, using the momentum of Red Giras’s grip to lift both legs and kick out, slamming his feet directly into Black Giras’s face and sending him crashing back into the water.
Seeing this, Red Giras roared in rage, then abruptly abandoned his hold on the Kyrieloid and dove into the water, surfacing a moment later beside his brother.
Watching the two furious monsters, the Kyrieloid let out a boisterous laugh. "This is the anger of the Kyrieloids! This is the power of the messengers of God! You two wretched monsters, rage all you want, for it is the only thing you can do! Hahahaha!"
The Kyrieloid laughed arrogantly, his words and the scene before him broadcasted via unknown means by television stations, spreading wildly across the globe. This ancient fanatic aimed to defeat the Twin Monsters in front of the entire world, harvesting belief to open the "Gates of Hell" and welcome his companions, as well as that god he served.
As expected, with such a monumental spectacle unfolding, the results of the Kyrieloid’s years of deep-seated manipulation began to show; countless believers sprang up like bamboo shoots after a rain. If he truly succeeded in killing the Twin Monsters, there was no doubt his influence would eclipse even the Earth Allied Organization—and even the "friendly aliens" behind the mysterious Eleking and Zetton. This was because he represented not just himself, but a far more powerful god behind him. Humans, living in fear, would cling to such immense power as their only lifeline.
However, playing such a game came with a grave price: there was no room for failure. Not even once.
"Erang!"
"Kurang!"
The Twin Monsters roared, linking their hands. Though their feet remained still, their bodies began to spin. The speed increased steadily, turning them into a living top!
"Don't even think about it!"
The Kyrieloid hurled a hellfire bullet, hoping to stop them, but the Twin Monsters were already moving too fast; in just two seconds, they had achieved their formation. The hellfire bullet caused only a minor obstruction, failing to halt the terrifying execution of their signature combined technique: The Giras Spin!
"Damn it!"
The Kyrieloid fired volley after volley of hellfire bullets, but a blue barrier deflected them, causing no damage at all. Once the Twin Monsters successfully initiated their spin, they generated a blue barrier of immense defensive power. Even Ultraseven and Leo had been sent flying and injured when they tried to charge it head-on. Not even the Eye Slugger of Seven, capable of slicing through monsters, had any effect; it was simply deflected upon contact. Its defensive power was even more exaggerated than that of King Joe!
Furthermore, while spinning, they could unleash energy blasts from the horns on their heads—a true, all-in-one offensive and defensive maneuver. The only weakness was that the barrier did not cover the top of their heads, leaving that area vulnerable. Lin Yu had sent this weakness to the inboxes of a few trustworthy individuals, such as Captain Hibino Mirai, Director Sawai, and Captain Muramatsu. Unfortunately, they might not get the chance to use it, but the Kyrieloid had found out for himself!
"The horns! The weakness is the horns!"
"As long as I break those horns, the Twin Monsters will be crippled! Break for me!"
The Kyrieloid leaped, aiming a kick at the horns of the Twin Monsters, hoping to end the fight in one blow. But while the vision was beautiful, reality was cruel.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Blue energy bullets fired out, striking the Kyrieloid. The significant damage made him wail as he plummeted from mid-air. Before he could even scramble to his feet, the spinning Twin Monsters rushed toward him, the terrifying giant top formed by their blades slamming into him. The force—enough to knock Leo unconscious—was so immense that the light-emitting organ on the left side of his chest nearly shattered! His chest heaved violently, his vision blurred, and he lacked the strength even to stand.
The giant top came to a halt. The Twin Monsters, wearing expressions of malice, stalked toward him.
"Erang!"
Black Giras grabbed the Kyrieloid and slammed him into a skyscraper. The building shattered in a gruesome display, but it held his weight.
"Kurang!"
Red Giras showed no mercy, grabbing the Kyrieloid’s left leg with both hands. With the strength capable of crushing Telesdon or Sadola, he twisted with all his might!
"Snap! Crack!"
The sickening sound of bones snapping made one’s skin crawl!
"Ahhh!"
The Kyrieloid let out a blood-curdling scream. More than half of his massive global following instantly abandoned him, and the remainder turned against him. His left leg was twisted into a grotesque shape; such a severe injury would likely plague him for a long time.
In this situation, it was clear... he had lost. He knew the weakness of the Twin Monsters was their horns, but he did not know that to exploit this, even Leo had to learn a specialized rotating flying kick, timed perfectly during the brief intervals when the monsters were using their head-beam attacks.
Knowing nothing and hoping to one-shot the Twin Monsters simply by knowing a weakness—did he really think it was a lie that the Twin Monsters had "defeated over two hundred monsters and aliens" and "destroyed the L77 Nebula"?
"All that bragging, and he’s just this level? He doesn't even seem as good as Alien Empera."
"Doesn't seem as good as Geronimon."
"Doesn't seem as good as Zarab."
Aihara Ryu, Shinjo, and Daigo, who had arrived on the battlefield in the GUTS Wing 1 and the Cross, muttered to each other. For a moment, they weren't sure if they should intervene. Well, it seemed like intervening wouldn't matter anyway.
The Kyrieloid, his leg broken, lay amidst the ruins of the building and tried desperately to escape as the Twin Monsters moved to break his other leg. But at that very moment:
"Zetton!"
A figure appeared without warning. A cold, or rather, entirely emotionless voice echoed. He was black and white, with yellow light-emitting organs on his face and chest. Standing roughly seventy-five meters tall, he towered over the Twin Monsters, taller by a head even with their horns included.
The Space Dinosaur—Zetton!
"Boom!"
With a single heavy punch, Zetton sent Black Giras flying. Red Giras paused for a second before bursting into a rage, attempting to use the same tactic to embrace Zetton, but... Zetton flexed his arms, and the massive strength that had restrained the Kyrieloid was easily shrugged off. He raised his leg and kicked!
"Boom!"
He and his brother, Black Giras, were sent flying in the exact same posture. In front of Zetton, the Twin Monsters, taken individually, were simply not worth mentioning.
