Elena was far from an ordinary woman. Ron still remembered the incident when Silan Valentine attempted to assassinate the baron. If one were to deduce the true culprit by following the trail of greatest benefit, this woman would undoubtedly top the list. Yet Ron had no evidence. Without proof, one must not speak recklessly.

Glancing at Elena beside him, still smiling as if unaware of anything, Ron thoughtfully stroked his chin. Her mind was craftier than a fox's, utterly inscrutable. At such a young age, she had already become the most sought-after widow in the capital. Not only was she beautiful, but the aura of a married woman was particularly enticing to some.

She was wealthy and charming—except that the baron’s corpse hadn’t even grown cold. Otherwise, those vying for her affection would be lined up from the inner city all the way to the outskirts of the capital... No, wait, what was he thinking? Had he really reached that age?

Although some qualities of Elena might thrill certain gentlemen, Ron felt compelled to state plainly: he did not like older women.

“Are you saying the witch has targeted you?” Olivia’s amber eyes fixed on the woman before her, as if trying to pierce through her playful and irreverent mask. But soon she realized Elena remained as flirtatious and shameless as ever, completely oblivious to the danger of being pursued by a witch.

“Olivia, no matter how wrong I am, I wouldn’t joke about this with you.” Seeing the black-haired woman’s attitude soften, Elena smiled and reached out to tease her. But her smooth, pale, and delicate hand was brushed aside before it could touch Olivia’s rosy face.

Elena was unbothered, only sighing regretfully, “Olivia, you weren’t like this before. We used to sleep in the same bed and bathe together...”

“Shut up—that was a bunk bed and a communal bathhouse.”

“Now, just listen carefully. What exactly is this witch’s warning about?”

Hearing this, Ron, standing quietly nearby, inwardly lamented. He had hoped to see the president firmly reject Elena, making this arrogant woman utterly dumbfounded and forced to beg humbly. But Olivia was clearly lacking in wit; all her talents seemed to be in brute strength.

“Little one, you seem to be thinking something quite offensive?” Elena teased.

“Hmm? Do you want to bathe with us or sleep in the same bed~? Though I don’t like men, I don’t dislike you. If you and Olivia both lay in my bed, I’d be very happy...”

Ah?

Upon hearing this, Ron, a pure and innocent young mage, turned pale, tightened his robe, and quickly shook his golden hair. He hadn’t expected the people of the capital to be so loose in morals. Such disgusting and filthy matters were casually spoken of as if nothing were amiss.

Where was the law? Where was morality? And where was the money? If he wasn’t supposed to mention money, did they expect to get it for free?

His overactive imagination left a faint blush on his youthful face. He averted his gaze casually and hastened to change the topic.

“Lady Elena, I think you should explain this witch matter in detail.”

The blond youth gestured toward the increasingly darkening expression of the president.

“Ah, it’s just that I haven’t seen you all for a while—I’ve missed you a bit~” Elena chuckled awkwardly, then leisurely began recounting the story of the witch’s warning letter.

This exquisite blue letter bore no date but printed accusations against Baron Mark. Among them: secretly leaking alchemical waste gases, disguising the incident as an industrial accident, delaying compensation, resulting in nearly a thousand broken homes.

Also, forcing workers to bear high-interest loans, skimming off the top, using low costs to drive rival factories into bankruptcy, then acquiring them at rock-bottom prices.

Ron even saw that Baron Mark had forced nearly 3,568 women throughout his life, ranging from newly graduated magic apprentices to seductive ninety-year-old matriarchs.

This made the golden-haired youth lament the importance of living a pure life.

“So what does all this have to do with you?” he asked curiously.

No matter what, Baron Mark was dead, and Elena had overseen the compensation and corrected the baron’s wrongdoings.

“How could it not relate? According to that witch who judges sin and bravely fights injustice, I am reaping all the bitter fruits of evil~ Perhaps in her eyes, we belong to the side of sin?”

Her voice, sweet and alluring, echoed in the office while Elena kept smiling lightly.

Your adjectives are a bit excessive, and don’t lump me into the ranks of evil!

Frankly, Ron now harbored deep suspicions about Elena. He suspected this sly woman had some secret connection with the witch. Silan Valentine had the aid of a mysterious society; the witch was the leader of that secret society; and Elena had inherited a vast fortune after the baron’s death. There was no way there was no sordid deal involved—Ron would never believe it.

Yet, given Elena’s special relationship with the leadership, the golden-haired youth could only keep his thoughts to himself. After all, the cautious employee knows better than to pry into the leader’s gossip.

“To judge sin and fight injustice—Elena, you shameless woman, enough with your nonsense!”

“If you want to die, then get lost!”

Olivia grit her teeth with anger, then threw a bag of documents onto the desk.

“Don’t think I’m afraid to tell you: I’m close to uncovering the witch’s true identity. These are all the latest intel I’ve gathered.”

“Including the secret society’s strongholds in the capital, the Azure Witch’s hideout, and the rebellious faction members aiding her!”

Seemingly sensing the gaze of the youth and the sly woman, the president proudly raised her head. “I’ve been staking out alone for a long time to get this information!”

The black-haired woman spoke loudly, as if only by showing these results before Elena could she slightly lessen her hatred for the witch.

“Intel?”

“Wow, Olivia, you’re amazing!”

“Maybe, maybe you’re right after all...”

Elena feigned surprise, then her expression fell, completely losing that light smile.

“Olivia... may I see the intel?”

Suddenly, Ron heard her whisper.

Hearing this, the president grew even more smug, coyly tapping the desk with curled fingers.

“Look, take a good look. Elena, you’d better see your incompetence, your cowardice, and your conscience thrown into the gutter!”

“Olivia... I...”

Elena bit her lip lightly and quickly tore open the paper bag to skim through the contents.

She exclaimed as she read, “This shop specializing in chiffon cakes is actually the witch’s hideout? Olivia, how did you find out?”

“Hmph, that shop you mentioned—I stood out in the rain for three days and nights to confirm it!” Olivia’s tone was disdainful, as if it were a trivial matter.

“Wow, so this Pamela, a senior municipal employee, is also a rebellious faction member?”

“Tch~ That’s nothing. I even tracked down her meeting places with other faction members~”

“Wow, Olivia, you’re incredible!”

“...”

From the sidelines, Ron seemed to see Elena transform into a cunning fox, patiently coaxing a not-so-bright squirrel to hand over all the food it had stored painstakingly for a year.

“President, isn’t this supposed to be confidential?” Ron kindly reminded, unable to bear it.

Unexpectedly, the president confidently crossed her arms and declared, “Everyone must take responsibility for their actions. Here, I’m in charge!”
