Chapter 50: Under Attack
Seeing that Jiang Tang remained silent, Leah bit her lip. "How about you come and train under Lieutenant Colonel Bai with me next semester?"
"No." Jiang Tang refused flatly.
Leah grew excited instead. "Why? The two of us could always be partners!"
She did not understand why Jiang Tang refused. In her view, Jiang Tang and she were in much the same situation.
Unwilling to be shipped off as a mere tool for political marriage, Leah had to carve out a path for herself through her own efforts.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Gladstone worried that Serbia, backed by Austria-Hungary and using the pretext of maintaining the balance of power in the Balkans, would demand compensation from Bulgaria. If the negotiations failed, it would escalate into a war—a scenario no one wished to see. Nearly half a century of painstaking strategy in the Balkan Peninsula would be reduced to nothingness.
Waves of soul-stirring, bone-melting sounds washed over the listeners, leaving them dazed as if sinking into a warm, fragrant abyss from which they could not extricate themselves, plunging anyone who heard them into inescapable illusions.
Since Alexander I was determined to provoke a conflict at this juncture, he no longer cared about saving face. If Serbia was going to bully Bulgaria, Alexander I would simply choose to declare war on Serbia directly.
Whether it was the deities of the Heavenly Court such as the God of Thunder and the Dragon God, or figures like Dracula VI, the Goddess of Fire Grace, and Brahman, or even Lin Zhentian and the Sorcerer God, all of them trembled violently the instant they heard this voice.
After Zhang Yishu left, Meng Yue felt somewhat bored, so she went up to the rooftop to look around. Taking in the scenery surrounding the villa, she could see a portion of Lingda University's landscape from above.
"You say it's none of my business?" He smiled at her, lowered his head, and gave her a lingering, passionate kiss.
After a bout of heavy weeping and with Madam Li's continuous comforting, the tears gradually subsided, and Wang Lang regained control of his body. Having passed through that trial, he had fully integrated into his new identity. He was now Wang Lang, the son of Madam Li, and the young master of the estate.
Because the bloodline of the Phoenix-Blood Qilin was already formidable enough, it no longer required these resources, allowing Qin Fan to take advantage of the windfall.
"Dad, Zhao Hanru has been handling some real estate transactions lately. Who knows what mischief she's up to in America." Liu Yanmei almost blurted it out, but fortunately, drawing on her previous experience, she managed to feign absolute calm, acting as though nothing had happened.
"Jiani, do you have the photos from the rehearsal over the past couple of days? Let me see them." Lu Can rubbed his brow, interrupting their conversation.

The pangolin flickered its tail, raised its head to look at St. PS, and answered his question in a grievance-laden tone.

As a public figure who received the adoration of thousands and enjoyed the glory they bestowed upon her, she ought to set a proper example.
Sensing abnormal activity from the puppet—which likely meant the restriction had been triggered—and seeing that Chen Yun was unprepared and made no defensive moves, the Thunder Beast feared Chen Yun would be obstructed and his current situation compromised, so it directly struck and instantly obliterated the puppet.
"Sigh, who knew we'd run into that four-eyed magic wolf on the way? I almost lost my life in its jaws. Damn it, I didn't check the almanac before heading out!" Fire-Red was the kind of fellow who would chatter endlessly the moment something happened; it was best if no one interrupted him, or else he would go on rambling all the way until morning.
If it were merely ordinary hundredfold gravity, it naturally wouldn't be a problem. However, the gravity of this Primordial Realm was already one millionfold to begin with. With an additional hundredfold magnification, that amounted to hundreds of millions of times the normal gravity.
