Chapter 4: Commanding Heaven and Shaping Earth

Chen Xiaoyu was startled and instinctively objected, “No, brachiopod-type aliens aren’t fast…” Before she could finish, the alien disappeared again from everyone’s sight.
Jiang Tang seemed almost prophetic; in a flash, she changed position and raised her golden cudgel, striking down with fierce determination.
The alien reappeared out of thin air, in the exact same spot as before. The tentacle struck fell limply, causing the spaceship to rock violently.
All the combat card masters witnessed this scene and marveled aloud:
“How did she do that? Could it be some kind of prophetic card?”
“Is this possession? Can’t tell if it’s a student or a professional card master.”
“If it’s possession, their bond must be very strong, right?”
Jiang Tang’s arrival reinvigorated the sagging morale. For a moment, multicolored lights flashed incessantly, all directed at the alien.
The alien’s frequency of teleporting increased significantly, but every attack missed, some even hitting the spaceship by mistake.
Chen Xiaoyu, seeing the alien’s position unchanged, still didn’t believe it. But given the mysterious elder’s overwhelming strength, she chose her words carefully: “Look, the alien hasn’t moved an inch, so it probably isn’t just speed…”
Jiang Tang interrupted, “Every attack aimed at its core misses. It can’t be mimicking or invisible, right?”
Chen Xiaoyu was stumped, “That really doesn’t make sense…”
She didn’t know how to explain it.
Jiang Tang, however, saw clearly. With her fiery eyes, no speed was too fast to track.
The alien’s sudden disappearance and reappearance was actually due to its speed—so fast it left no afterimage.
Those missed attacks were all dodged by the alien, which, after eliminating the audacious attackers like mere ants, pretended to remain motionless, quietly clinging to the spaceship and using its tentacles to harvest life.
Jiang Tang sneered bitterly: “The least likely scenario is often the most likely.”
Following the elder’s train of thought, Chen Xiaoyu gasped sharply, her expression grave: “Then it seems this alien’s intelligence isn’t low. When will Federation reinforcements arrive?”
At this level of alien, it was beyond their ability to handle.
Jiang Tang raised an eyebrow: “Why pin your hopes on the Federation?”
Chen Xiaoyu was taken aback. If not the Federation, then who?
The next moment, she understood.
The elder’s body suddenly grew taller, in a few breaths becoming larger than the spaceship, and the strange staff in her hand transformed into a massive weapon.
The heavens and earth bow before me!
Jiang Tang muttered “Grow! Grow! Grow!” until the spaceship looked toy-sized in her eyes, small enough to be held with one hand.
The alien sensed danger, its tentacles wildly thrashing, but Jiang Tang grabbed its head with one hand and forcibly “pulled” it off the spaceship.

Instantly, all was silent.
Jiang Tang leaned closer to the small alien for a careful look, her nose faintly catching a foul stench before distastefully pulling away.
A thunderous voice rang out, “Interesting. Are there many highly intelligent aliens?”
Chen Xiaoyu fluttered to her ear, like a little sprite, “The known high-IQ aliens are all humanoid types—like banshees, mermaids, and vampires.”
“What kind is this one then?” Jiang Tang grasped the alien’s tentacles in both hands and brutally tore them in half. A small blue figure fell out.
“Goblin?” Chen Xiaoyu cried out in surprise.
The blue figure vanished suddenly, sensing danger.
“Nymph!” Chen Xiaoyu shouted, a gust of wind lifting her lightly but swiftly in pursuit.
Nymphs, the free-spirited wind dancers, are companions of Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt.
Card summons are somewhat familiar even to Jiang Tang, a Blue Star native.
She thoughtfully returned to her normal size.
Meanwhile, Chen Xiaoyu quickly felt overwhelmed.
Nymph was her only silver card; though she knew its true name, as a D-rank card master, it was difficult to wield.
She needed to reach C-rank at least to fully unleash a silver character card’s power.
If only she were as strong as the elder—surely he was at least an A-rank card master?
Envious, Chen Xiaoyu lost focus for a moment and the alien pulled far ahead again.
Seeing the alien about to escape pursuit range, she panicked. She was the fastest on the ship, but if she lost it now, it would truly be gone.
Just as she was about to overexert her spirit to accelerate, she suddenly stopped, her mouth agape at the elder who now stood ahead, pointing his staff at the alien’s head.
When did he get in front of me?
Her silver card, Divine Nymph, was known for speed and wind mastery!
“Want to race me?” Jiang Tang chuckled.
Did she understand the value of “one somersault equals hundreds of thousands of miles”?
The short blue goblin stopped, its small eyes darting cunningly, suddenly saying something.
In the past, Jiang Tang would have been intrigued, asking Chen Xiaoyu if she understood. Now, impatience flared within her: “What gibberish is that? Don’t understand? Take my cudgel!”
With a swing of her golden cudgel, she crushed the goblin’s skull in a burst of blood and brains.
“Se-senior…” Chen Xiaoyu stammered, frightened by such brutality. “May I dare ask which deity is possessing you?”
She had never seen such a powerful deity.

“That, huh? The Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong.” Jiang Tang waved her hand dismissively. “Let’s go.”
Before her words finished, she vanished from sight.
Chen Xiaoyu was left stunned.
The Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong…
What a bold title.
The card masters gathered around Chen Xiaoyu.
“Do you know that senior?”
“You’re from Nebula Academy, is he too?”
“Which timeline does he resonate with? And who exactly is the Great Sage Equal to Heaven? There’s no record of him in the Federation’s current history!”
“Can you leave your contact info, please?”
Chen Xiaoyu blushed deeply, waving her hands repeatedly, “No, no, no, I don’t know him!…”
How could she possibly know someone so powerful?
Not far away, Federation reinforcements watched the entire scene.
They had actually arrived as soon as the spaceship’s glass was shattered by the alien.
“Such a strong card master, how have I never heard of him? There’s no data on him in the database, not even his cards are familiar…” he muttered. “Must report to the Federation.”
He sent the video to his superior.
Soon, a communication request came.
As soon as it connected, the superior eagerly asked, “Who is this card master? Must be S-rank, or at least A-rank, right?”
“Unknown. No info in the database.”
The superior’s face darkened, “So his identity is questionable?”
The card master hesitated, then nodded.
Silence spread.
After a long moment, he heard the superior’s voice: “Find out who he is. Do everything possible to recruit him to the Federation.”
“And if he refuses?” the card master hesitated.
The superior’s tone turned cold and merciless: “If he’s from any of the rival factions, eliminate him.”
